2Baba Sparks Controversy with Risqué Performance of New Single “Toto Mechanic” Amid Marital Woes

Legendary Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, is once again at the center of online chatter—this time for a daring performance that’s ruffling feathers and stirring conversation.
During a recent appearance at comedian Acapella’s comedy show, the African Queen crooner debuted a bold new single titled “Toto Mechanic.”
The provocative track sees 2Baba referring to himself as a specialist in “fixing” women’s private parts, a lyrical choice that drew a mixed reaction from the crowd.
A viral clip from the performance shows some audience members laughing and vibing along, while others—particularly one woman caught on camera—appeared visibly shocked by the graphic content.
The timing of the song’s debut has only added fuel to the fire. It comes amid 2Baba’s ongoing separation from his wife, actress Annie Macaulay, as well as his recent engagement to Natasha Osawaru, a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly who was reportedly dismissed from her role under controversial circumstances.
Despite the backlash, 2Baba seemed unbothered, thanking the audience warmly and exiting the stage with confidence. Still, the performance has reignited heated discussions about artistic freedom vs. public responsibility, especially for high-profile stars navigating personal drama.
While some fans defend 2Baba’s right to express himself musically, others feel the timing and subject matter were tone-deaf, given his current personal circumstances.
