Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer 1da Banton—real name Godson Ominibie Epelle—has kicked off a new chapter in his evolving musical journey with the release of his latest single, Woza.

Dropped under Squareball Entertainment and licensed exclusively to Sony Music Entertainment France, the track continues to spotlight 1da Banton’s genre-bending approach, fusing elements of Afrobeats, dancehall, reggae, and indigenous rhythms from his Rivers State roots.
Following the success of his 2025 EP Walk With Me, Woza arrives as a vibrant, infectious anthem that perfectly encapsulates the artist’s sonic identity. Produced by DJ Lewis, the track takes its title from the Zulu word for “come,” setting a tone of invitation and movement from the jump.

With its pulsating talking drums, crisp percussion, and layered melodic textures, the production feels both rich and breathable—providing the ideal backdrop for 1da Banton’s smooth, magnetic vocals.
He weaves stories of desire and anticipation through a catchy hook and rhythmic verses, drawing listeners in with a sound that feels equally at home on Lagos dance floors and global playlists.
The craftsmanship behind the mix—each instrument meticulously placed—enhances the warmth of the track without cluttering the energy, a clear nod to DJ Lewis’ studio precision.
Woza follows a string of standout tracks, including Digest and Paid in Full in 2024, each further solidifying his range and appeal. From his Port Harcourt beginnings to his game-changing move to Lagos in 2014, 1da Banton has steadily climbed the ranks of Nigeria’s musical elite.

His 2017 debut, The Banton EP, featured Way Up, which became the theme song for Big Brother Naija’s third season, while his 2021 album, Original Vibe Machine included the breakout smash No Wahala—a cultural staple that later earned a 2022 remix with Kizz Daniel and Tiwa Savage, ultimately surpassing 200 million Spotify streams and landing a spot in the 2023 season of Ted Lasso.
As Woza continues to gain traction, it’s clear 1da Banton isn’t just riding the wave—he’s helping to shape it. With an eye on both African authenticity and global relevance, he remains one of the most exciting voices in the ever-expanding Afrobeats movement.
Whether through bold sonic experimentation or quietly powerful storytelling, 1da Banton is proving, once again, that he’s here to stay—and ready to make you move.
