These are 10 Different Types of music artistes you will find In Nigeria

Let’s talk about Nigerian artistes, their different levels and the ways they go about their activities in the music industry.

You all will agree with me that when it comes to using music to entertain people in Nigeria, there are levels to it.

Below Are 10 Different Music Artistes You Will Find In Nigeria

     The All Blown

These ones are blown everywhere both in Nigeria and abroad. You all already know the artistes in this category.

These are artistes that will sell out shows both in Nigeria and abroad.

They don’t just become all blown, they are products of hardwork and consistency.

In most cases, they have strong team that have helped them become a household name in the music industry.

    The Street Blown

These ones can only sell-out shows in Agege Stadium, they dare not try 02

The artistes under this category are well recognized within Nigeria with strong street credibility.

They are responsible for many slangs that become popular on the street because people can easily relate to their music.

    The Blown Before

When you’re once blown but in few years, you’ve unblow. This is the situation for artistes in this category.

They came into the industry with dope songs accepted by many music lovers but due to their inability to adapt to industry demands and trends, they become obsolete with their music.

    The Instagram Blown

These are artistes who don’t really do well with official single release but let them release a one minute freestyle on Instagram, it will spread like wildfire.

The set of artistes in this category only has massive followers, no fame, no money.

They have tied their growth in the music industry to the number of followers they have on Instagram.

Most upcoming artistes are in this category, one freestyle gets lots of comments and likes on their page but their songs hardly penetrate.

When these people drop songs, they only promote on Instagram and beg other celebrities to repost.

    The Talented But Underrated

To succeed in the music industry requires that your talent is being recognized and appreciated by many.

Being underrated is when you’re not getting the accolades you deserve considering the quality of songs you drop.

Many artiste is in this category, they are so damn talented but no one is rating them on the same level as their songs.

    The Mixtape Artistes

I don’t know if I am the only one that has noticed that there are some really underground street artiste who doesn’t have their song anywhere except in mixtapes.

DJ Chicken and some other street DJs have a huge playlist of songs from these kinds of artistes.

Anyways, they make mixtapes sweet with their fast tempo songs

    The My Street/My School Blown

These artistes are very popular in their street or school as the case may be.

They headline shows in school or their street back-to-back, at some point they feel all blown and exhibiting pride to their friends.

If you’re blown in your school or street, it’s a signal that if you have a bigger platform to reach out to more people, you’d definitely grow bigger.

    The Legends

They have scaled all hurdles and beaten every record in the music industry.

Due to their consistency with good music over the years, the entire music industry labels them as legends.

More importantly, these are artistes other music artistes pick as role models or mentors.

    The Yahoo Artistes

These are artistes doing “Yahoo Yahoo” on the side.

Among these artistes, it is difficult to know which one is their main hustle or side hustle between “Yahoo Yahoo” or music.

If you’re an artiste and you’re doing ‘yahoo” or your record label is funding you with yahoo money, don’t stress yourself, you’re a yahoo-artiste.

    The Copycats

The artistes in this category just want to copy what other artists are doing.

Because a particular artiste is making waves, they want to do a song that will make them sound like that artiste.

They also copy strategies, because Kizz Daniel did the challenge, they also want to do the challenge.
