The Nigerian Music Industry houses a large group of talented and amazing artists that have in their own unique ways pushed the industry globally.
It’s not rare to hear a different voice apart from that Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy’s play on the radio. Even new school artists like Rema, Fireboy DML, Joeboy have carved a niche for themselves despite all odds.
Often times, with so many songs released on a daily, it can be confusing who to listen to apart from the reigning players of the game. So Mp3bullet.ng packages a list of amazing Nigerian artists you can listen to.
From sounds, lyrics, songwriting, voice, these artists deserve all the flowers they can get and for good reason.
Wurld
The blue-haired singer/songwriter is a phenomenon whose music is breathtaking. Wurld came to the local music scene with “Show You Off” a collaborative track between him, Shizzi, and Walshy Fire of Major Lazer. Before that, he was writing songs for popular R’n’B singer, Mario and had released his debut EP, “Evolution”.
Wurld gained commercial success after the release of “I love Girls with Trobul” the collaborative EP between and Sarz. The EP produced hit singles like Mad and Trobul. he recently released an EP called “Afrosoul”.
The beautiful part of Wurld is that when he is not releasing amazing songs, he is writing hit songs for other artists. He is the secret tool behind two of Davido’s hit songs, “Blow My Mind” and “Sweet in the Middle”.
Brymo
Brymo isn’t a newcomer in the Music Industry. The poetic singer considers himself the Father of Alternative music in the Nigerian music industry, a genre that is different from the mainstream music most people are used to.
Brymo is fondly remembered for his contribution to the classic, “Oleku” and his breakthrough song, “Ara”. The singer has made a name for himself not as a talented singer but a controversial one too. One of them being him wearing a G-string for his music video shoot.
The singer is quite the artistic one when it comes to music with the use of metaphorical wordplay. He is like a swordman who sees the sword not just for killing enemies but for wielding his own philosophy.
Brymo has Ten projects to his credit, all of which serve a purpose and tells different stories but to enjoy his songs requires a critical level of listening skills. If you are one for vibes and just cruise, Brymo’s songs are not for you.
Chike
The first time most music lovers got introduced to Chike was his entrance on the Project Fame West Africa in 2015 but unfortunately, that introduction was cut short as he was eliminated early into the game. He later appeared on the first season of Nigeria’s The Voice in 2016 where he finished as the first runner up.
Chike has a voice that draws its listeners in like a trap with cheese would do to a rat. The singer whose strength is dishing love songs that has hearts racing earned himself critical acclaim after he released his album “Boo of the Booless” earlier in 2020.
Ric Hassani
Dubbed as the gentleman, Ric Hassani came to the spotlight with the release of his love-filled “Only You”. The song won him praises as it became the number one choice for couples. Not resting his laurels, he released “Believe” featuring Falz and Olamide in the remix.
Ric Hassani has this unique thing to him that keeps you wanting more.
Dremo
Dremo is a rapper/singer signed to the DMW Label. The rapper who has been doing music before he joined DMW, is unique with his craft. He might not be what you call a pure Hip-Hop artist but he has managed to make his own path.
Dremo’s music is relatable and easy to flow with, his wordplay game is also strong. His recent album, Codename Vol 2 received praise for its unique flows and lyrics.
Ladipoe
The first time this writer stumbled upon Ladipoe, was on Falz hit song, “Marry Me”. The rapper opened the song with such an amazing entrance that I kept going back to hear him rap all over again.
Fondly called “Leader of the revival”, Ladipoe is the combination of sick flows and lethal rhymes. He is one of the artists that 2020 has favored with the release of his hit song, “Know You” featuring Simi and “Lemme Know Remix” featuring Teni.
Through his time in the industry, his artistry has evolved and we hope to get more fire-filled tracks from him.
Omah Lay
If you take a piece of Wizkid and Fireboy DML to create a being, the end result would give you Omah Lay. With a slick voice so enchanting like that of a snake charmer playing the flute to attract a snake, Omah draws his target in with precision.
Omah isn’t the in your face bad boy, he is more like a Tom Ellis from the popular American series, “Lucifer”. Not loud but still dangerous in every sense. There is something about his type of music, charming and spellbinding.
The singer who released his “Get Layd” which contained songs like “Damn”, “Bad Influence”, “Ye Ye Ye” in 2020 still has a long way to go but all of that is dependent on himself and his management. The audience already likes him, all he needs to do to hold their attention is to release more seductive songs.
Buju
Buju came to the spotlight after social media successfully got Zlatan to feature on his song, “Spiritual”. The song did well and he went to release other tracks. But his notable song is L’enu which was released in 2020 and the remix featuring Burna Boy.
Buju is now signed to Spaceship Label which is co-owned by Burna Boy and his mom, Bose Ogulu. His style of music which he describes as Afro-Fusion is exclusively his, its rare and beautiful to hear. Buju just like Omah Lay has a soothing voice that is music to the ears, literally.

Dotman has been in the music industry a bit longer than Fireboy DML and Rema and while he is yet to gain commercial success like them, he is a talented artist in his own way.
Dotman’s special attraction is the ability to use his Yoruba dialect to entrance a listener. He just like the rest of on this list, is creating his brand and sound. His songs are also inspirational with him always sharing a word of advice that upcoming artists can take.
Oxlade
Oxlade is not just a singer, he is a master of seduction with his voice as his tool. Oxlade work on like ‘Shugar‘ and ‘Legend’ or features like ‘Ibadi’ with DJ Tunez, ‘Wait For You‘ with Melvitto and ‘Angelina’ by Juls earned him a spot in music lovers hearts.
