MAN CITY WIN FA CUP FOR SEVENTH TIME AFTER VICTORY OVER MANCHESTER UNITED AT WEMBLEY.
Manchester City won the 2023 FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Wembley Stadium, becoming the 13th teamΒ to complete the English double.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City club, who won both the FA Cup and Premier League title in the same season, is the 13th side to do so.
City, who won the Premier League by five points over Arsenal, defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final on Saturday at Wembley.
In order to help Manchester City overcome Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley and maintain their chances of winning the Triple Crown, Ilkay Gundogan scored twice.
City now has the chance to repeat United’s 1999 achievement in the Champions League final against Inter Milan in Istanbul, having already won the Premier League title.
And City captain Gundogan was the game-winner once more, ensuring his place in history with the quickest goal in FA Cup final history, a magnificent volley after only 12 seconds, surpassing Louis Saha’s score for Everton after 25 seconds against Chelsea in 2009.
After 33 minutes, the video assistant referee determined that Jack Grealish had handled, and Bruno Fernandes calmly sent Stefan Ortega the wrong way from the spot.
The pivotal contribution came from Gundogan, who volleyed Kevin de Bruyne’s free-kick past United keeper David de Gea six minutes after the interval to give City the FA Cup for the seventhΒ time.
Man City team will try to achieve a historic Treble, they will now play Inter in the UEFA Champions League final on June 10 in Istanbul.
