Questions have been raised about Ronaldo’s decision to retire from playing in Europe, but Kaka, a former Real Madrid teammate of the legendary player, can see why the 37-year-old is eager to take on a new challenge because he is still very much a winner.

Brazil icon Kaka has told Gazzetta dello Sport of Ronaldo’s desire to collect more medals taking him to the Middle East: “I think he wants to quit football by playing. I understand him, he is a special player. Players like him bring to the team a simple concept. Winning is not like losing.

The Argentina players who made fun of France after their World Cup victory last month have come under fire from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Following a thrilling 120-minute battle that ended 3-3, Argentina defeated Les Bleus on penalties to win the World Cup for the first time since 1986.

Following the final, Argentina were filmed mocking France star Kylian Mbappe in the dressing room while goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez also teased the Paris Saint-Germain forward in their open-top bus parade.

Speaking to France Inter on Wednesday, Ibrahimovic said the players who “behaved badly” won’t be remembered as much as Argentina-winning captain Lionel Messi.

“Messi is considered the best player in history, I was sure he was going to win,” Ibrahimovic said. “What will happen is that Mbappe will still win a World Cup.

“I’m not worried about him. I’m worried about the others in Argentina, because they will not win anything more. Messi has won everything and he will be remembered, but the rest who behaved badly, we can’t respect that.

“This is coming from me, speaking as a top professional player, that is a sign that you will win once, but you won’t win again. You don’t win like that.”

Lionel Messi is unquestionably a club and country winner due to his exceptional talent. He is considered the best footballer of all time for the enviable accomplishments he has attained.

Messi won all of the major football trophies and awards at the age of 35, but he hasn’t yet claimed one award which is the Golden Foot award.

The Argentine captain won’t care as much about missing out on this honour as he can still enjoy his nation’s incredible World Cup victory with his fellow citizens. He also doesn’t require the honour to make a point.

Since the Golden Foot award’s inception 20 years ago, players like Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho, and many others have won it.

The award that is currently held by Lewandowski is absent from Messi’s historic trophy cabinet.

In addition, Messi has a chance to secure the title next year when PSG begins their challenge in January in other to add it to his award cabinet.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has stated that fans will never know the ‘true story’ behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from Manchester United.

After his interview with Piers Morgan last month, in which the 37-year-old criticized the club’s owners, Erik ten Hag, and a few of his former teammates, Ronaldo was let go by United. Additionally, he asserted that the club had “betrayed” him.

But, Ten Hag recently responded to the Portuguese star’s comments – saying that Ronaldo had never told him to his face that he wanted to leave Old Trafford.

While Ronaldo and Ten Hag have both spoken about the situation, Ibrahimovic believes that the ‘true story’ will never be heard. He also said that he would have ‘told you how it really happened’ if it had been him.

“His exiting United, I think when things happen, we will never know the true story,” Ibrahimovic told reporters in Dubai. “They say what they want to say, he says what he needs to say to protect himself, then you have the coach that says these things to protect himself.

The AC Milan star added: “Everybody wants to win the World Cup; not everybody gets to win the World Cup.

“Everybody is trying and if you don’t win it obviously you’ll get emotional, if you win it, you get also emotional in a different way.”

Ronaldo had only managed just three goals in 16 matches for United prior to his Old Trafford exit, with the forward only starting on 10 occasions.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has ranked Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the five greatest players he has coached during his outstanding career.

Between 2013 and 2015, the Italian was Ronaldo’s coach at Santiago Bernabeu, where their first season together resulted in Champions League and Copa del Rey victories.

Ronaldo had the most productive season of his career under Ancelotti’s guidance, scoring 61 goals in the 2014–15 season and winning two Ballons d’Or.

The two have admired one another in the past, so it was no surprise to hear the former Chelsea and Bayern manager name Ronaldo as one of the best players he has ever worked with, along with two of his current Madrid teammates.

Speaking on the Italian television show Che Tempo Fa, per Managing Madrid, Ancelotti chose Vinicius Junior and Benzema, Brazilian icon Ronaldo and AC Milan veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic to round off his top five.

Last season, Real Madrid won both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, defeating Liverpool in the latter competition’s championship game. Vinicius and Benzema were instrumental in this accomplishment.

Ancelotti worked alongside Ronaldo Nazario at AC Milan during the 2007/08 campaign and the two-time World Cup winner is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

Ibrahimovic, another outstanding striker, plied his trade under the decorated manager in the 2012/13 campaign at PSG and plundered 35 goals in all competitions.

But it is Ronaldo whom Ancelotti has hailed as the greatest player he has worked with. While in charge in the Spanish capital in 2013, he told The Times: “I’ve seen Ronaldo play a lot of times, of course, but when you’re up close every day his technical skills are unbelievable. He’s the best I’ve ever seen.”

Speaking to ESPN four years later, Ancelotti said: “His [Ronaldo’s] belly is never full. People had told me he was like this before I went to Real Madrid, but until you actually work with him every day, you don’t realise to what degree he takes it.

“He is hugely professional and he works as hard anybody out there. From recovery to diet, he takes care of every detail, ensuring everything is optimal. When I compare it to my playing days, there is no comparison – players today are far more professional – but he takes it to another level.”

The admiration between the duo is mutual and Ronaldo told ESPN in 2015: “He’s [Ancelotti is] an unbelievable person. I just wish every player could have an opportunity to work with him because he’s a fantastic guy, a fantastic coach, and I miss him a lot because we won many trophies together.”

AC Milan’s forward player, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has sent a warning message to Manchester City’s striker, Erling Haaland, about Pep Guardiola.

Haaland’s style of play has been likened to that of Ibrahimovich because of his Physique and ability to finish off the ball whenever he is in front of the goal.

The 41-year-old was speaking in an interview with Canal+ where he confirmed that he did not enjoy his time in Barcelona because of Guardiola. Zlatan was asked in the interview if he did like Haaland and his answer was affirmative.

As surprising PSG contract details surfaced, Zlatan Ibrahimovic slammed Paris Saint-Germain sensation Kylian Mbappe. As terms of Mbappe’s deal were released, Ibrahimovic accused him of attempting to be bigger than the club.

Mbappe signed a new three-year deal at the Parc des Princes this year. Recent reports have claimed that he wants to leave the club in January, as his future was once again thrust into the limelight this month.

The rumours that Mbappe would have significant influence over the club’s sporting decisions as part of his new contract were one of the key components of his new deals.

This would include giving the Frenchman a say on which players should be signed alongside decisions on managers and also sporting directors.

Indeed, Mbappe, who has a close relationship with Luis Campos due to their time spent together in Monaco, is said to have supported his appointment as a sports advisor.

The player’s increased influence in the team preceded his falling out with Neymar over the order of penalty-takers in a Ligue 1 game as the poor relationship between the two came to light.

After that altercation, it was apparently necessary for former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos intervene and separate the two in the locker room.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier moved to tackle the issue head-on by staging a first-team meeting in which both players were rebuked and apologised, while Messi acted as a mediator to help quell the discontent.

The backlash continued when Neymar liked two social media postings criticizing Mbappe for the incident, including one that claimed the French star “dominated” the team. Ibrahimovic appears to have agreed with such comments.

Ibrahimovic told Canal Sport: “Mbappe has put himself in a situation where he is more important than the club. But you should never be bigger than a club because you are not.”

Ibrahimovic has also claimed that Ligue 1 has become weaker since he left: “Since I left France, everything is going down. You have nothing to talk about anymore. France needs me. I don’t need France. Even if you have Mbappe, Neymar and Messi, it doesn’t help you. Why? Because you don’t have God.”

Ibrahimovic suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury this year but continued to play until the end of the campaign to help Milan win their first Serie A title in 11 years.

He had surgery in May, and it’s anticipated that he won’t be able to play football again until the start of 2023.
