Kwesta admitted in a recent interview that he informed Yanga Chief of AKA’s passing. The rapper claimed that after learning that Yanga was unaware of Forbes’ death, he called Chief to get further information.

“The only other person I called after hearing about Kiernan [“AKA” Forbes] was Yanga and I wanted an explanation of sorts of ‘what do you know?’, and he just found out from me. Which is a terrible thing because when you [are] asking the questions you realise this person doesn’t know [what] the f*ck you’re talking about. Now you have to sort of treat the conversation differently. It immediately changes, because now you’re bearing this news.”

“Waking up to this reality daily is heavy to bear. So many conversations I wish had gone differently. The arrogance to think ‘we still have time’. Will we ever get over ourselves sisaphila? I’m beyond grateful for what we created, Forbes. Not just songs, not just memories, but we actually changed people’s lives.”

Meanwhile, Kwesta has recently revealed what listeners can expect from his upcoming song with Thato Saul and YoungstaCPT. The supremacy of SA Hip-hop has been declining since the most sought-after amapiano genre tightened its grip.

This has made it possible for the majority of rappers in South Africa to continue to make music, with some joining the Yanos movement and others looking for different ways to do so.

One rapper who successfully applied his strategy to find ways to remain relevant by creating songs outside of the hip-hop community is Kwesta.

Even weeks after their passing, Yanga Chief still thinks of Costa Titch and Kiernan “AKA” Forbes. The passing of Forbes and Titch is a difficult pill for Chief to swallow.

Yanga Chief posted footage of the two rappers on Instagram along with a message expressing his opinion.

“Waking up to this reality on a daily basis is so heavy to bear. So many conversations I wish had gone differently. The arrogance to think “we still have time”. Will we ever get over ourselves sisaphila? I’m beyond grateful for what we created Forbes. Not just songs not just memories but we actually changed people’s lives,” he wrote.

Rapper Fifi Cooper, a cast member of the South African reality series Love and SA Hip Hop, discussed how she got chosen.

Rapper Fifi Cooper expressed her ambition to be on a reality programme during a recent interview on SlikourOnLife. She seized the opportunity when it presented itself because she thought the time was ideal.

“They asked me to come through to the studio to you young interview, and I was like, let me try it out because I believe everything happens for a reason and God’s timing is perfect for me.”

The Megacy, AKA’s devoted group of supporters, honours him with tattoos. AKA, whose actual name was Kiernan Forbes, opened a WhatsApp group hours before he was murdered and died in order to communicate with his community.

The rapper adored his fans and was constantly thinking of them and social media was inundated with memorial posts after his passing.

However, some of the rapper’s supporters went above and beyond by getting tattoos of his name and face.

The rapper’s mother, Kiernan Forbes, said that the Megacy are now her children at the rapper’s memorial service.

“The first time I asked Kiernan how your relationship was going, he didn’t hesitate to tell me, ‘Bah! This is it for me, Nadia saved my life.’ I thank you for loving my bru and bringing him back when we thought we lost him the first time. He loved you so much.”

AKA was going to propose to Nadia Nakai on Valentine’s Day, a close friend of the rapper revealed Zimoja.

“He was done. He felt he had no purpose and he had reached a creating block when they started dating. So, she became his saving grace,” he says.
