Sunderland faced West Brom in the Championship on December 12th, 2022, at a chilly Stadium of Light, but the Black Cats fans are not happy with the head coach, Tony Mowbray, because of the substitution he made during their loss to West Brom.

The Black Cats were aware that a victory would elevate their team to the seventh position and put them 10 points above the relegation zone.

Amad, a loanee from Manchester United, gave Sunderland the lead early on when he converted the penalty he had assisted win after a brilliant one-two with Luke O’Nien.

After intense pressure from the Baggies, Tom Rogic, a former player for Celtic, levelled the score for West Brom in the second half with a spectacular strike that beat Anthony Patterson.

Seven minutes remained when Daryl Dike gave the visitors the lead, but West Brom was able to hold on and secure the three points. Patrick Roberts was introduced too late in the game as Sunderland was pursuing West Brom, and head coach Mowbray has received criticism for it.

Along with Leon Dajaku and Abdoullah Ba, Roberts was a part of a triple replacement that occurred late, towards the 90-minute mark.

Following just one victory in West Brom’s first 13 Championship games of this season, Steve Bruce has been fired as the team’s head coach.

Bruce departs The Hawthorns after just eight months in charge following Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to Luton. With Hull City currently in the relegation zone, his only league victory this year came against them at home in August.

The backroom staff members Steve Agnew, Stephen Clemence, and Alex Bruce have also left The Hawthorns.

Richard Beale, the U21s coach, has been named temporary manager. James Morrison and Gary Walsh will be his assistants. The next league match will be played on Saturday at Reading.

According to West Brom, the process to find a replacement is currently underway, and an appointment will be confirmed when the time is right.

Four months after being fired by Newcastle, a position he said would likely be his last, former Birmingham manager Bruce took over at West Brom from Valerien Ismael in February. In 32 games, Bruce only managed to oversee eight victories.

West Brom fans chanted “Bruce out” at The Hawthorns during Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Luton after Brandon Thomas-Asante and Grady Diangana were replaced.

After the game, Bruce asserted that both players had injuries before thanking the fans and expressing his intention to continue to fight for his position.

He stated: “I fully understand your frustrations. The path ahead will not be easy, whether I or someone else is in control.

Watford professional football club have sacked Rob Edwards, who took charge of just 11 games and leaves Vicarage Road with the club 10th in the Sky Bet Championship.

Rob Edwards managed Watford for just 11 games, leaving the club in 10th place in the Sky Bet Championship. Former West Ham, West Brom, and Croatia manager Slaven Bilic was swiftly named as Edwards‘ replacement at Watford.

Bilic has signed an 18-month contract at Vicarage Road, replacing Edwards who took charge of just 11 matches during a three-month stint at Watford.

In a statement, Watford owner Gino Pozzo said:

“As with all decisions taken by the Board, I believe this change to be in the best interests of the club. We felt Rob had enough time to show us the identity of his team, however, performances haven’t reflected our hopes and ambitions. Now we must move forward, and, in Slaven Bilic, we have secured the services of an experienced coach who has recent experience of promotion to the Premier League.”

Edwards was hired after the club was demoted from the Premier League last summer after making an impression while coaching Forest Green to the League Two championship.

The 39-year-old got off to a good start as Watford picked up seven points from their first three games. However, after managing just one more victory after that, he was fired, becoming the 17th permanent manager to lose his job since the Pozzo family took over Watford in 2012.

Former Croatia international player and head coach Bilic takes over with Watford 10th in the Championship table ahead of a trip to Stoke on Sunday.

The 54-year-old managed West Ham in the Premier League and his most recent work in English football saw him guide West Brom to promotion from the Championship in 2019/20.

A Watford statement concluded: “Bilic’s other staff will be confirmed in due course and Watford FC will make no further comment at this time.”
