“I’ve heard the words too — ‘worldly,’ ‘rebellious,’ ‘fake,’ ‘unspiritual.’ I’ve seen the stares, the distance, the disapproval. But here’s what I’ve learned. Jesus never labeled people. He loved them. He sat with the broken, touched the untouchable, and called the forgotten family,” Godfrey wrote.

The singer reminded his audience that God’s love isn’t confined by appearances or past mistakes, saying that grace remains available to everyone regardless of their background or choices.

He was rejected, misunderstood, and called names — Yet He loved louder. He healed harder. He forgave deeper.”

Godfrey anchored his message on Romans 8:38-39 and Titus 3:5, reinforcing that nothing can separate anyone from God’s love, and salvation comes by mercy, not personal effort.

Tim Godfrey describes his struggle with a disease that nearly paralysed him.

Godfrey revealed on his Instagram page on Wednesday that he was given an undisclosed diagnosis that caused his bones to be “20 years older” than the rest of his body.

The artist posted a video of himself in the hospital and explained that during the tough time, he had to struggle with agonising discomfort that caused him to cry.

“This picture right here was when I was admitted in the hospital, it started with me feeling some pain in my back, then a hellish pain in my arms,” he wrote in the caption.

Godfrey added, “I went for an MRI and the scientists told me that my bones were 20 years older than my age – over 60 years old, when I’m in my 40s. They also told me that my spiral cord disc had shifted and all these other complicated things, all happening to me at the same time.

“I was always in pain. Sometimes I would hold my hand to my face and cry so badly. They told me that I had overstretched my body and a lot of other evil reports.”

He further revealed that his health was restored after treatments, intensive prayers, and the belief that he had received his healing.

He added, “But as the song says when there’s chance for evil, God turns it for good. I went home after some treatments and intensive prayers, believing I was healed and it was so.

“To you reading this, God is turning that situation around for your good. No matter the report of the enemy concerning your life, the report of the Lord says – he’s turning everything in your favour. Rejoice!!!.”

“Whatever God has called one to do, one should just do it. If God has called one not to charge (performance fees), that is fine. Every gospel artiste receives a sort of honorarium. We have responsibilities and we do these things full-time.

Some people still owe me for my performances. Some people’s decision to charge fees is based on past experiences. I have band members I pay and they have families they cater for. Sometimes, I do some concerts for free or based on relationships.”
