In the midst of his emotional interview with Gary Neville, Tottenham striker Harry Kane is leading the support for Everton midfielder Dele Alli.

Kane, as well as Alli’s current side Everton, are among those leading the support for the midfielder after his emotionally wrought interview with Gary Neville in which he revealed his mental health struggles, addiction to sleeping pills and the sexual abuse he suffered as a child.

Kane took to Twitter to express his support for his former Tottenham teammate, saying: “Proud of @dele_official for speaking out and sharing his experience to try and help others.”

Meanwhile, Everton Tweeted: “The Club has been supporting Dele in both his return to fitness and overcoming the personal challenges highlighted in his interview with The Overlap.

“Everyone at Everton respects and applauds Dele’s bravery to speak about the difficulties he has faced, as well as seek the help required. The physical and mental welfare of all our players is of paramount importance.

“The Club takes very seriously its responsibility in protecting the confidentiality of players and staff. Dele will not be conducting any further interviews in relation to his rehabilitation, and we ask that his privacy is respected while he continues his recuperation from injury and receives the full care and support needed for his physical and mental wellbeing.”

Roma manager Jose Mourinho claims a player betrayed the team as he instructed one of his players to leave the club in January because of his ‘unprofessional attitude’.

After Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Sassuolo, Mourinho claimed that one player, whom he would not name, had “betrayed” his teammates.

Mourinho told DAZN: ‘It was a team that wanted to win against a tough opponent, I am sorry that the efforts of the team were betrayed by the attitude of one unprofessional player.

‘An unprofessional attitude that is not fair to his teammates, that is what disappoints me. A point away from home is still not a negative result and I am happy with the general attitude of my squad.’

When asked about his comments, Mourinho refused to identify the individual.

He said: ‘I won’t tell you. I had 16 players on the field tonight and I liked the attitude of 15 of them. In January, he needs to find himself another club.’

According to Corriere Dello Sport, the player who Mourinho was referring to is Rick Karsdorp.

The Dutchman came on in the 65th minute and endured a difficult time, which included a perceived lack of effort in the buildup to Sassuolo’s late equaliser.

Karsdorp has been at Roma since 2017, with the right-back having made 122 appearances for the club.

In the 80th minute, Tammy Abraham gave Roma the lead over Sassuolo, but late disappointment for Mourinho’s team came in the form of Andrea Pinamonti’s equalizer.

The result leaves Roma in sixth place in Serie A. They are at home in Torino on Sunday.

Roma’s draw with Sassuolo followed a defeat to Lazio in their previous fixture.

20 days after suffering a muscle injury in Napoli’s 4-1 victory over Liverpool in their UEFA Champions League Group A opener, Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has resumed training.

The Nigerian has missed the Partenopei’s last three games against Spezia, Glasgow Rangers, and AC Milan, which they won.

He also missed the Eagles’ friendlies against Algeria.

The 23-year-old has scored two goals and provided one assist for Napoli this season against Hellas Verona and Monza, but could have scored more according to Kickest – an Italian statistics website.

The Eagles striker has missed seven big chances in five league games this season – two more than Tammy Abraham and three more than Paulo Dybala, who both sit in second and third position respectively.

“Training resumed yesterday (Monday) with Osimhen and Politano, who are continuing in their respective recovery tables,” Calcio Napoli stated on Tuesday.

“It is precisely the aspect of injuries that is the least worrying at the moment because so far the prevention work carried out by the technical staff and by the medical staff head doctor, Raffaele Canonico, worked well.

“Osimhen was a victim of a muscle problem, however typical of an attacker with his characteristics.”

Despite his return, Napoli will reportedly take its time putting the former Lille striker back into action.

“Osimhen is about to return, there are still a few days left, something more than a week, to see him on the pitch to train with his teammates.

“To see him again in the stadiums, in Italy and Europe, we will have to wait a little more, probably at least until October 9, the date of the match against Cremonese, round-trip matches with Ajax in the Champions League,” Tuttonapoli reports.
