Renowned Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Neptune has published the official tracklist for his upcoming album, ‘Greatness 2.0.’

The ace DJ, who is one of Nigeria’s most popular DJs, has revealed that his sophomore album, ‘Greatness 2.0,’ will be released soon. He’s posted the album’s lineup as a build-up to the release.

Neptune revealed that the upcoming project will feature prominent names from the African music scene, including Waje, Laycon, Ladipoe, Mr. Eazi, Blaqbonez, Cheque, Rema, Patoranking, Peruzzi, Simi, Adekinle Gold, Focalistic, Omah Lay, Lojay, Kofi Jamar, Stonebwoy, Phyno, Yemi Alade, Harmonize, and others.

Magic Sticks, Dera the Boy, Mog, Andre Vibez, Yung Wills, Sess, Fancy Beatz, DJ Krept, and Speroach all contributed to the production of ‘Greatness 2.0.’

The 16-track album will be released on Friday, November 27, 2021, and will contain the smash hit “Nobody.”

Along with the features, DJ Neptune has also released a new single from the next album called “Only Fan.” The record features street-hop star Zlatan and super-talented singer Lojay.

Fall

“Fall” is Davido best song to date and also the song that blew him to the International market. The song has earned him global fame since its release in 2017.

The chart-topping song was the first Afrobeat song to be certified gold in the US. Apart from that, the song has also been certified in Canada.

It also became the first Afrobeat song to surpass 200 Million views on Youtube. However, not many know that the “Fall” was Co-written by Kiddominant who also happened to produce it.

During an Instagram live video with Peruzzi, Kiddominant revealed how and Davido created the song.

After having a dry spell in 2016, Davido stormed 2017 with the banging “If.” The song found acceptance among music lovers and even had people wondering if the singer really had 30 Billion in his account.

The song was produced by Tekno who also ghostwrote the track.

Davido in an interview revealed that Tekno had reached out to him for a song but due to being busy, he couldn’t meet him until one day Tekno had to drag him from a club to record the song.

Aye

Three years of having back to back hits, Davido dropped the love anthem “Aye” in 2014. The song and its music video were hits and also had people doing covers to it.

From the lyrics and sound, a keen listener can easily guess who wrote the song. The song was co-written by Runtown and T-Spize who also produced the song.

FIA

“Fia” was another hit song by Davido released in 2017 as one of the four hits he dropped in that year that helped solidified his position as one of Nigeria’s biggest acts.

The song was written by Peruzzi who had signed to Davido’s DMW label the previous year.

This revelation became public after Peruzzi’s former label boss, Patrick took to social media to reveal this.

Patrick who had called out the two artists revealed that the song was originally written by Peruzzi and went on to release the original version of “Fia” which Peruzzi sang.

Like Dat

One of Davido’s best and criminally underrated hits, “Like Dat” was released in 2017 and was unfortunately overshadowed by other songs the singer had released that year.

The song which was produced by Shizzi was written by Teni who had taken to Instagram to share the news but ended up getting slammed by fans for revealing it.

Assurance

This love song was released in 2018 and was dedicated by Davido to his girlfriend, Chioma Rowland in anticipation of her birthday.

Risky

Released in 2019, Davido featured Popcaan on this Afrobeat hit. “Risky” was a remake of Davido’s laughable rap freestyle ‘Kilo Kan Mi’ that went viral.

The song was Co-written by Peruzzi.

Blow My Mind

This beautiful Afrobeat fused R’n’B anthem was released in 2019 and features Chris Brown. It would become their first of many collaborations. The song was a hit at the time of release.

The song which was produced by Shizzi was written by Wurld who also co-write Davido’s 2019 “Sweet in the Middle.”

1 Milli

This beautiful love song was released in 2019 as part of Davido’s “A Good Time” album but was released as a single in 2020.

The song was Co-written by Afropop singer, Adekunle Gold. Chioma Rowland played video vixen in the music video.

Wizkid versus Davido, an incessant campaign, which was developed by fans, who were not mutual lovers both artists.

Many years have passed since they joined the music industry, yet, this comparison ceases to end, and at a time, almost caused a real conflict between the two.

The most appalling part of everything is the comparison of not just the artists, but their music.

We tend to do these things, bringing down the hard work and artistry of a musician who is not our favorite, just to lift up the ones we like

From the onset of their music Careers of Wizkid and Davido, they always seem to drop hits during the same period, and these songs usually become objects of juxtaposition.

This year, the trend, however, continued, when both dropped two smashing hit singles; “Joro”, and “Risky”.

Nonetheless, I’d like to proceed by giving you a brief analysis of both songs;

Wizkid- “Joro”.

On the 18th of September 2019, Wizkid dropped his much anticipated single titled “Joro” off his fourth studio album; “Made In Lagos”.

Although the NorthBoi produced song faced severe criticism at the stages of its release, it took us by surprise and did excellently well, topping several charts across the country with millions of streams across several digital platforms.

This Track sees the Nigerian music superstar delivering his signature vocals over a head-nodding mid-tempo beat.

“Joro” is a song with a full blend of Afro-beat sound laced with love-themed lyrics.

During an interview with Capital Xtra in London, Wizkid revealed that the song was a message to someone he loves, telling her that if they are together, they would enjoy themselves.

“Joro” is no doubt, one of the best jams 2019 presented to us, with a soothing melody that makes you want to just relax and vibe to it.

Davido- Risky

“Risky”, a mega-hit from Davido was released on the 23rd of October 2019, a few weeks after Wizkid’s “Joro”

Consequently, the Speroach produced song features the vocals of Jamaican patois singer; Popcaan, and is off his “A good time “ album.

You can all recall that the song was a result of freestyle on the radio during is USA media tour, which unfortunately didn’t turn out well.

Davido, however, went from being referred to as “talentless” to a “hitmaker”, as he turned a disastrous freestyle into a jam.

The hype surrounding the release of the song was surely worth it as “Risky” ranks among the best songs of the year, which we can’t resist dancing to.

Why “Risky” and “Joro” shouldn’t be compared.

As you have read earlier, both songs are unique in their own way, and we can’t deny that we don’t jam to each of these songs.

A song is a product, and clear evidence of an artist’s artistry, thus it shouldn’t be a tool for comparison.

“Risky” Is great and so is “Joro”. If you love “Risky” more, good, enjoy your “Risky” and let “Joro” be. On the other hand, if you’re a “Joro” lover, do the same!.

If you love both, that’s wonderful!.

On a serious note, “Risky” and “Joro” debate has to stop!!!
