The project, whose title cleverly echoes his career-defining hit Who Is Your Guy?, is designed as a three-part musical journey exploring themes of masculinity, legacy, and individuality.

The album, consisting of 19 tracks, will be released on Friday, September 26, 2025. Spyro announced on Instagram on Wednesday, September 24, sharing the album artwork and tracklist. His post quickly ignited excitement online, with fans eager to hear what he has described as a “three-course meal” of music.

The project is divided into three themed sections:

• The Men: A salute to Nigerian music veterans, featuring heavyweight collaborations with M.I Abaga, 2Baba, D’Banj, Faze, Styl Plus, Sound Sultan, Phyno.
• The Boys: A showcase of new-generation talent, with guest appearances from Bayanni, Shoday, Oxlade, Suave, Soundz, Jeriq, and Ceeboi.

The album boasts a strong production team. Kunle Adesuyi serves as executive producer, with Bobberry and Synx handling mixing and mastering. Production credits include Dawie, Colonel Tyemmy, Bash Anything, and Mr. Soul.

Nigerian singer and songwriter Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua, widely known as Seyi Shay, has spoken candidly about how the passing of legendary Afrobeats star Sound Sultan influenced her decision to step back from music.

In a recent interview on TVC, the 39-year-old singer described the late Sound Sultan as her “mentor, best friend, and father figure”, admitting that his death left her questioning whether she wanted to continue her music career at all.

According to Seyi Shay, the grief coincided with her pregnancy, which ultimately reinforced her decision to take a hiatus from what she called the “toxic environment” of the Nigerian music industry.

“During the filming of Nigerian Idol, my mentor, also my best friend, who is like a father figure to me, and also the person who brought me to the Nigerian music industry, died. He passed away, Sound Sultan,” she recalled.

The singer went on to explain that when she first moved to Nigeria, Sound Sultan and his wife hosted her at their FESTAC home for a year, playing a crucial role in helping her settle into the industry.

“He was the one who co-signed me and introduced me to everybody in the industry to make sure that those who were his people looked out for me. So, when he passed away, it was really hard for me to complete the filming, but I made it to the end,” she said.

Seyi Shay revealed that she was supposed to travel to New York to visit him shortly before his death, but never got the chance.

“What hurt the most was that I didn’t get to see him before he passed away. He asked me to bring him something specifically. It just tore me apart. I felt like I didn’t have the will to continue to do music without Sound Sultan, my peace of mind, and my mental health. So, I decided to go on a little break.”

She added that her pregnancy during that period further strengthened her resolve to step away.

“I told myself there’s no way I’m going to have my child in the toxic music industry that I’m in and under the scrutiny that I was constantly under. So, I just thought I should take a break.”

Seyi Shay, who rose to fame in 2011 with her debut hit “Irawo”, has since become one of Nigeria’s most recognisable female voices, fusing Afropop, R&B, and soul.

The legendary singer told him that their dream and wish for Nigerian and African music has come to pass and now he is an upcoming artiste, but he wouldn’t give up easily to the ‘new cats’. He added that there are lots of stories to tell him, entering the New Year. 2Baba wrote:

Spyro remembers late mentor, Sound Sultan in open letter.

Rising Nigerian singer, Spyro has penned an emotional open letter to his late mentor, Sound Sultan.

In a recent Instagram post, Spyro reminisced about all the good deeds Sound Sultan did for him and acknowledged his immense contribution to his success.

Spyro stated that he misses his mentor and cannot count his blessings without him.

pyro expressed regret that Sound Sultan is not here to witness his success but thanked him for all he taught him.

“I MISS YOU mentor … I cannot COUNT MY BLESSINGS without you. Today thoughts of how you fed me, clothed me and accepted me when nobody did come rushing back.

“I remember a night we were to go for an event and I, as usual, came so unkept and fashion-less but while others laughed at me, you went up to your room and brought your cloth down for me to wear.

“I wish you are here to see all that is happening. I remember how I would always tell you I would make you proud and it’s sad you ain’t here now . Thank you for all you taught me and did for me … Till we meet again jest on in power.” He wrote.

Recall that Sound Sultan died on July 11, 2021, in the United States after a long battle of Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.

It would be recalled that the “Motherland” crooner passed away on July 11, 2021, after battling a medical condition known as Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma.

2Baba who shared a close connection with Sound Sultan when he was alive took to his Instagram page to express how much he missed his presence.

“Miss u madly A Guy. Celebrate u till I join u bro,” he wrote in a post while sharing his photo.

Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, has expressed sorrow for not speaking with the late renowned musician Sound Sultan.

This was stated by Burna Boy on the closing song of his most recent album, “Love Damini.”

The musician stated he should have spoken to Sound Sultan before he passed away and stressed the importance of showing affection to individuals while they are still living.

Burna Boy stated that despite his efforts to improve as a man, he still struggles with controlling his rage.

Excerpts from the song read: “I should have talked to grandaddy before it’s too late.

“I should have talked to Sound Sultan more before he died. I should show people more love while they are still alive.

“I should always know the way my people feel inside.

“I’m trying to be a better man, I’ve been trying, I got it all but I still got my anger.”
