DJ, Singer & Influencer, Sithelo Shozi discusses how she was cast as the investigator on The Masked Singer SA episode alongside Somizi Mhlongo, J’Something, and Skhumba.

The program premiered last weekend and received a lot of favorable reviews, with Sithelo dominating the trending lists.

Speaking in a recent interview with Drum, the mother-of-3 said, “Not that I have never imagined myself in the space, but I just think I hadn’t planned or thought of it in my head for something that could happen right now. It still kind of feels like an out-of-body experience but it’s also just so phenomenal, it’s a really beautiful journey and I could never take any of this for granted.”

Sithelo claimed to have received a call from the show’s producer, Anele Mdoda, who also controls the production firm.

She was instructed to watch the UK edition of Masked Singer, but it was kept a secret from her.

When the show’s arrival in South Africa was later confirmed, Anele appointed her as one of the detectives.

The DJ initially dismissed it as unimportant but subsequently came to understand its importance and thanked Anele. Shozi said that the radio host had already disclosed the reason Mdoda chose her.

“She spoke of how a lot of people speak about opening the industry to new talent and that never really materializes. She said that she had been following me on social media for like four years and just watching how I move, what I say, what I put out, how I speak my truth, and how I’m so bold about whatever it is I’m doing. She says that’s what she wanted and that she saw herself in me when she was my age and she’d like for me to grow as much as she’s grown in the industry.”

“They have given me such peace, and they have allayed my mental anxieties. I’ve been invited to this production.

“I had so much fun that I don’t even remember shooting it,” she claims, “and that’s what I love about it because nothing is scripted”.

Musa Motha, an amputee choreographer, and dancer, captured the judges’ and audience’s hearts on Britain’s Got Talent.

After his outstanding performance, the judges gave him a standing ovation and a shared golden buzzer.

According to reports, the dancer is the first South African to get these compliments from the judges and audience.

“That was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen on the show. Never, ever heard a reaction like that in my life. Thank you,” Judge Simon Cowell says.

“I’m a true believer and true example of breaking the word impossible. I am possible. I thank you so much,” Musa says.

Musa has collaborated with well-known dancers like Gregory Maqoma, Lulu Mlangeni, Somizi Mhlongo, and many others. He has triumphed in competitions like Dance Against All Odds, the Gauteng Matjeko Dance Festival, and the Red Bull Dance-Off.

The dancer, who is also a DJ, turned down DJ Black Coffee’s invitation to join his record company in order to finish his education and earn his national diploma in chemical engineering.

He went on to discuss his career management, asserting that he is at the pinnacle of his profession despite being ridiculed for acquiring more bags and deals.

We are not judges, we are panellists, we are exactly what the audience is, we are just given the voices. But we are exactly what the audience experience,” he said.

Mhlongo claims he has always been true to himself and won’t alter anything.

“I’ve been myself from day one, and I would never change anything for anything or for anyone, so if you are tired of me, then switch. What makes me where I am today is my authenticity. I find it very sad for people to always adjust based on where they are. I am not a chameleon. Somizi has always been this, you’ll see Somizi at a different show but he will still be Somizi.”

On March 4th, Saturday night, the musician Vusi Nova, his friend, and two bodyguards were travelling to Vaal when their automobile collided.

After giving a performance at Somizi Mhlongo’s Golden Jubilee event, Vusi Nova got into a car accident.

“Vusi’s Land Rover is a complete write-off. I am not sure about the police van. Luckily everyone is okay. The police officer had to be rushed to the hospital and the bodyguard’s eye was badly hurt,” a witness told ZiMoja.

“Vusi and the other have minor injuries on the bodies, scratches, and bumps on the leg which they had checked out by the paramedics who arrived on the scene,” the witness added.
