Emtee, the renowned rapper, has finally resolved his long-standing struggle with managing his music career by acquiring the services of Siya Mdluli as his manager. Formerly under the management of Ambitiouz Entertainment, Emtee severed ties with the record label after a period of management discord.

Opting for independence, Emtee embarked on establishing his record label, despite persistent suggestions from followers and fans to secure professional management.

Meanwhile, notably, names like Nota and Sizwe Dhlomo were proposed, but Emtee remained adamant about managing his affairs solo.

However, in a recent announcement made on Thursday, Emtee disclosed that he has enlisted Siya Mdluli as his manager. Siya, previously the manager of the late AKA, brings a wealth of experience to Emtee’s team.

AKA tragically passed away in February 2023, leaving behind a profound legacy in the music industry.

Emtee’s decision to appoint Siya Mdluli signifies a pivotal moment in his career, marking a shift towards professional management and potentially unlocking new opportunities for artistic growth and success.

“Ladies and gentlemen Meet my new Manager @scorpio_siya. My first ever official MANAGER with experience and a whole lotta wisdom. Olipa tingz agwaan. #DIY3. Tryna work? Hala at my dawg @scorpio_siya. It’s been a long time coming and things are starting to make sense. Grateful,” Emtee wrote.

Unathi sued Kaya 959 for R1.6 million after being sacked as a result of a disagreement she had with Sizwe Dhlomo.

Unathi Nkayi, a media personality and musician, disclosed last month that she is suing Kaya 959 for unjust dismissal and income loss.

She is reportedly asking for R1.6 million from the radio station, according to Sunday World.

According to the case, which was submitted last week to the Johannesburg High Court, the former Idols SA broadcaster signed a contract with the station on February 11, 2020. Her contract started on March 1 of 2020 and was supposed to last through February 28 of 2023.

Unathi was fired by Kaya 859‘s former manager Sibongile Mtyali in November 2021 as a result of a disagreement with Sizwe Dhlomo, the host of the radio station’s drive show.

The singer for Kwa Nolali had criticised Sizwe Dhlomo’s tardiness to management.

She also allegedly accused Sizwe of gender-based violence (GBV), which resulted in her dismissal after Kaya 959 management apparently looked into her claims and found them to be untrue. Unathi, however, refuted the GBV allegations in a statement she issued at the time.

Mtyali was sacked by Kaya 959 after Sizwe complained about sports presenter Mpho Maboi allegedly consistently showing up late for their pre-show preparation sessions, City Press claimed a year after Unathi was fired.

Unathi allegedly suffered contractual losses totalling R1 300 000 due to the dismissal, as stated in court documents.

“The total sum which the defendant failed to pay over the 16-month period was R1 300 000.00 [R81 250.00 multiplied by 16]. Despite demand, the defendant has failed to pay to the plaintiff the sum of R1 300 000.00. The defendant is ordered to pay to the plaintiff the sum of R1 300 000.00,” read the papers.

She further requests that the station remove a statement from its web page that claims there was a breach of trust with regard to her account of the incident and that it “unfortunately was found wanting.” She is seeking R100 000 for this.

She also wants R200 000 for a loss of dignity after the station claimed in its letter of termination that she lied about her complaint regarding Sizwe Dhlomo.

Sizwe Dhlomo recollects AKA being the first guest on Kaya Drive. All that’s left once a loved one passes away are the memories you shared with them.

Although AKA’s passing left lasting wounds, his music and the experiences he shared with his fans and colleagues will live on in the hearts of those who heard it.

Even though AKA stirred up a lot of controversy in the South African hip-hop industry, his fans loved his music and valued what he gave to the industry.

Sizwe Dhlomo, a radio host and veteran of South African hip-hop, also reminisced about the interaction he had with Kiernan Forbes on Twitter.

The professional entertainer recalled the interaction he had with AKA when the late rapper appeared as the show’s first guest on Kaya Drive.

“For me, I think it’s really a miscommunication, a miscommunication came about with the whole xenophobic episode that was happening in our country. You know I would never ever been one to mince my words when it comes to patriotism in South Africa,” he said.
