Fàbregas, a former midfield maestro for Chelsea, Arsenal, and Barcelona, has been chosen over Roberto De Zerbi — who is expected to remain in Ligue 1 — to lead Inter into a new era. The 37-year-old Spaniard has impressed during his managerial spell at Como, where he secured promotion in his first season and led the club to a 10th-place finish in Serie A this year.

Inter have already reached a personal terms agreement with Fàbregas, and now must finalize a compensation package with Como to seal the appointment.
