The Grammy-winning rapper unveiled the guest lineup earlier this week, and Tyla’s name stands tall among an impressive roster that includes Janet Jackson, Selena Gomez, Kehlani, Megan Thee Stallion, Cash Cobain, Lizzo, and Summer Walker.

While the project is stacked with global icons, it’s Tyla’s appearance that has sparked the most excitement, particularly after months of swirling rumors.

WHO ELSE IS THE DRAMA? 🐦‍⬛Am I The Drama is out September 19th pic.twitter.com/3AYtw17Ahv

Talk of a collaboration between the two gained momentum earlier in the year when Cardi and Tyla were spotted together. Speculation deepened when Cardi publicly defended the Push 2 Start hitmaker from online critics, leaving fans convinced the two had been working on music behind the scenes. That anticipation has now been validated, as Tyla officially joins one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.

Cardi B heightened the buzz with a cheeky teaser post on X, writing: “Who else is the drama?” before sharing the tracklist. With two singles, Outside and Imaginary Playerz, already warming up the charts, listeners are eager to hear how the rest of the album unfolds.

For Tyla, this feature arrives at a golden point in her trajectory. Just days ago, she celebrated surpassing 3 billion Spotify streams, while her viral smash Water earned her a place in the platform’s coveted Billions Club. Once dismissed by skeptics as a one-hit act, the 23-year-old has steadily silenced doubts, establishing herself as one of Africa’s most promising exports.

As Cardi prepares to deliver her sophomore project, complete with multiple cover arts, including one inspired by her recent courtroom appearances, Tyla’s inclusion underscores her fast rise from Johannesburg to the global stage. Sharing space on such a high-profile album cements her as part of the new wave of African stars reshaping the international music landscape.

Afrobeats sensation Rema and American pop icon Selena Gomez have reached another historic milestone with their global smash hit “Calm Down,” as the track has officially surpassed 8 million units sold in the United States.

Originally released in 2022, the original version of ‘Calm Down‘ captivated audiences across Africa before the remix featuring Selena Gomez catapulted it to global superstardom.

The remix became a cross-continental anthem, achieving No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest-charting Afrobeats song in the chart’s history.

The record’s momentum has shown no signs of slowing, with the U.S. sales milestone reflecting a combined total from digital downloads, streaming equivalents, and radio airplay.

The song has also proven a visual triumph, with its music video now boasting over 900 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most-watched Afrobeats videos ever.

This achievement further cements ‘Calm Down’ as one of the most commercially successful Afrobeats records of all time and highlights the genre’s increasing global dominance.

It also reinforces Rema’s position as a key driver of Afrobeats’ international breakthrough and Gomez’s ability to transcend genres with her collaborations.

While neither artist has publicly responded to the 8-million-unit milestone as of press time, fans have taken to social media to celebrate, hailing the record as a cultural landmark and a win for global music fusion.

As Afrobeats continues to break barriers, ‘Calm Down‘ remains a shining example of the genre’s ability to connect continents—and listeners—through rhythm, emotion, and star power.

In a remarkable turn of events, Nigerian gospel artists Nathaniel Bassey, Mercy Chinwo, and Moses Bliss have broken into the mainstream spotlight, securing spots among the most-streamed Nigerian musicians on YouTube Music in the first quarter of 2025—surpassing several Afrobeats heavyweights.

According to data from Debut Hub, Nathaniel Bassey led the gospel charge with a staggering 52.8 million streams, placing him at No. 13 overall.

Mercy Chinwo followed closely at No. 17 with 46.4 million streams, while Moses Bliss earned the No. 19 spot with 41.5 million—edging out Afrobeats sensation BNXN.

Mercy Chinwo’s timeless anthem “Excess Love” continues to resonate, now boasting 133 million lifetime streams. Nathaniel Bassey’s spiritual hits also shine, with “TOBECHUKWU” (featuring Mercy Chinwo Blessed) racking up 39 million streams, “Jesus Iye” gathering 32 million, and “Yahweh Sabaoth” amassing 25 million.

While the gospel stars are making waves, afrobeats remains dominant. Rema topped the Q1 chart as the most-streamed artist in Nigeria, thanks in large part to the ongoing success of “Calm Down,” featuring Selena Gomez, which hit a historic 2.5 billion plays globally and added another 223 million streams this quarter alone.

Burna Boy followed with 171 million streams, while Ayra Starr clinched third with 169 million—outpacing Davido, who recorded 113 million streams. Wizkid rounded out the top five with 102 million.

This new gospel breakthrough highlights the growing influence and reach of Nigerian faith-based music, proving that spiritual sounds are not just resonating locally but competing on a national stage alongside the country’s biggest pop exports.

Award-winning singer and actress Selena Gomez has shared her struggles with online hate, revealing how negative comments about her appearance and personal life have impacted her mental health.

In a recent interview on the Jay Shetty Podcast, where she appeared alongside her fiancé, the 31-year-old star spoke candidly about the disproportionate scrutiny women face in the entertainment industry compared to men.

“Women have it much worse in the industry. It’s not news to anyone that we endure more intense judgment—from our appearance to what we wear. When I prepare for an event, I just hope I can take the picture and sit down,” Gomez shared.

She also opened up about the backlash she received for her role in the award-winning movie Emilia Perez, where she faced criticism over her ethnicity.

“The character gets judged. It’s the way I’m not white enough, I’m not Mexican enough—so many things come up in my face that I can’t help but see. I fall victim to looking at these comments, and really, they don’t add to your life. It’s so difficult. People constantly judge my choices, from my career to the people I date. Yet, when it comes to men, nobody cares.”

Gomez also addressed the scrutiny over her fluctuating weight, which is a result of her battle with lupus.

“My weight is a big one, too. Everyone always has something to say, and it makes me sad. No, I’m not a victim—everyone goes through something—but I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t make me a bit bitter. I feel guilty for saying that, but it’s true.”

Despite the negativity, Gomez acknowledged the power of social media while emphasizing the need to take breaks.

“I’m just happy that I take breaks completely at times. But I’m human, and sometimes I read things. Most of the time, I ignore it, but there are ways to combat it. It’s not like I hate social media—I understand its power. It’s just tricky.”

Selena Gomez has long been an advocate for mental health awareness, often using her platform to speak on the importance of self-care and resilience in the face of online negativity.

South African singer Tyla has made history by breaking the record for the longest run at No. 1 on the Billboard US Afrobeats chart.

She has surpassed the previous record of 60 weeks set by Rema and Selena Gomez for their global hit, “Calm Down.”

This monumental achievement marks a pivotal moment in Tyla’s career, firmly establishing her as a prominent figure in the global Afrobeats scene. Her distinctive sound, magnetic style, and ability to resonate with audiences worldwide have propelled her to this extraordinary success.

American singer and actress Selena Gomez has officially announced her engagement to music producer Benny Blanco, her boyfriend of one year. The pair’s love story has blossomed, and now they’re taking the next big step.

On December 12, 2024, Gomez took to Instagram to share the exciting news, posting intimate photos from the picnic proposal where she proudly flaunted her marquise engagement ring.

The caption read, “Forever begins now.” She also posted a heartwarming video on her Instagram story, where she surprised a friend with the news of her engagement during a video call.

Blanco, equally thrilled, expressed his joy in the comments section, saying, “Hey wait… that’s my wife.” Celebrities from all over the entertainment world flooded the post with congratulatory messages, celebrating the couple’s happiness.

Popstar Taylor Swift chimed in with a playful comment: “Yes, I will be the flower girl.” Lil Nas X couldn’t contain his excitement either, writing, “OMMGGGGG CONGRATSSS AHHH.”

Actress Jennifer Aniston shared her love too, commenting, “HONEY!! Congratulations sweet mama!”

The couple began dating in 2023, keeping their relationship mostly private until they had been together for about six months.

Since then, they’ve been inseparable. Blanco opened up about their first date in May 2024, jokingly admitting that he didn’t realize it was a date at the time. “It was so crazy, when we went out on our first date, I didn’t even know it was a date. She was like, ‘Hey, you want to hang out?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah.’”

He went on to share a funny moment from the date: “I remember we were talking, and she’s such a forward person. And I remember sitting there and she’s like, ‘Well, I would’ve worn something different for this date.’ And I was like, ‘What? We’re on a date?’”

Now, with their engagement, Selena and Benny are ready to start the next chapter of their love story, taking their first step toward forever.

American singer and actress Selena Gomez has shared that her personal health challenges make it unsafe for her to carry her own children. Gomez, who has been dealing with lupus since 2013—a condition where the immune system attacks the body’s tissues and organs—discussed her situation in an interview with Vanity Fair.

She revealed, “I haven’t ever said this before, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children. I have multiple medical issues that would endanger both my life and the baby’s. It was something I had to come to terms with and grieve over for a while.”

Gomez reflected on how her health issues changed her expectations about starting a family and how this new reality impacted her vision. However, she has found peace with the situation.

“It’s not exactly how I envisioned it. I thought it would happen like it does for everyone else. But I’m in a much better place now. I’m grateful for the options of surrogacy and adoption, which are both significant possibilities for me,” she said.

She remains hopeful about her future, noting that while her path to motherhood may differ from her initial plans, she is excited about the journey.

“I’m looking forward to how it will unfold, even if it’s different from what I imagined. Ultimately, it will be my journey and my baby,” she explained.

Gomez also mentioned her past experience with dating, saying, “Before I met my boyfriend, I was single for five years, except for a few dates. I realized that, if this is the situation, family is the most important thing to me.”

Nigerian sensation Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has ignited a social media frenzy by placing himself on par with global Afrobeat heavyweights like Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.

Rema, celebrated for his chart-topping hits, took to his microblogging platform to assert that Nigeria boasts more than just three top-tier performers.

At just 24 years old, Rema has emerged as a symbol of Afrobeats’ resounding success on the global stage, amplifying the influence of African music worldwide.

His remarkable achievements not only elevate the standards of Afrobeats but also underscore Nigeria’s dominance in the international music scene, especially following his breakout hit, ‘Calm Down,’ featuring American singer Selena Gomez.

In a bold statement, Divine Ikubor inserted himself into the ongoing discourse surrounding Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, collectively known as the “Big 3.”

He declared, “No more Big 3, there’s now a Big 4,” sparking speculation among fans about the target of his message.

In addition, shortly after Mavin Records posted on their Twitter page, announcing Rema’s involvement in a new project, Rema himself retweeted the announcement. However, instead of showing appreciation, he expressed surprise and dissatisfaction with his label’s claim that he was working on a new song. He questioned the announcement, stating, “SMH, tf is this?”
