One of the news that often breaks the internet is when s*x tape belonging to Nigerian artists get leaked on social media.

The issue of sex tape and/or nude images of celebrities being leaked is not new, as some well-known personalities in the entertainment business have dealt with similar issues in the past.

Currently, one of Nigeria’s fast-rising artists is currently dealing with such issues and Mp3bullet.ng compiled a list of Artists in the Nigerian music industry who have faced similar issues.

Salawa Abeni

Queen Salawa Abeni is a waka queen and renowned Nigerian musician from Ogun state. In April 2020, she startled the world by refusing to pay a ransom to an unknown blackmailer by exposing naked photos of herself.

The blackmailer had already sent a WhatsApp message to the waka queen, stating that he possessed her naked photos. To prevent being bullied, she posted the messages and images the blackmailer had sent her.

The blackmailer was ultimately identified as Oladunjoye Emmanuel, a 19-year-old University student from Magboro, Ogun state.

After being fished out by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), despite breaking his sim card and throwing away his phone into the river, he said he picked a memory card on the floor in Yabatech, which contained nude pictures of the famous waka singer.

He said he only intended to extort money from her by negotiating with her and then destroying the photographs because she was a public figure.

Tiwa Savage

In the early hours of Tuesday, October 19th, Tiwa Savage’s s3x tape was leaked and deleted.

The mother of one became the talk of the town after her s*x video with his boyfriend was released on social media.

Her lover, she claimed, unintentionally put the video on Snapchat, which he quickly deleted.

Prior to the viral video, the Nigerian star had warned that she was being blackmailed by those who had the video and were demanding payment.

Small Doctor

On August 27, 2017, Temitope Adekunle, also known as Small Doctor, a Nigerian music singer, made headlines after a video showing him masturbating was leaked online.

The Agege-born entertainer can be seen caressing his manhood with one hand while recording the immoral action with the other.

He claimed, however, that his phone had been hacked and that the hackers had publicly exposed the masturbating photos on Snapchat.

Oxlade

Olaitan Abdulrahman, better known by his stage name Oxlade, a popular Nigerian singer, caused a sensation on Wednesday after his s3xtape was released online.

The s3xtape that went viral on the microblogging platform Twitter was released via Snapchat.

Unlike others whose tapes were only one, Oxlade had many s*x tapes released into the internet.

Tems gained prominence both locally and Internationally thanks to ‘Try Me‘. The sombre song talks about toxic relationships and trying to escape them.

Accompanied by the sound of strings and a light bass in the background, the late singer sings about being held back from truly growing, moving forward, and shining on her own terms.

Koroba- Tiwa Savage

‘Koroba’ means Bucket or basket in Yoruba. The song starts with the lyrics,

‘I no come this life to suffer, If I follow politician, You go hear am for paper, Them go call am prostitution’

In ‘Koroba‘, Tiwa Savage talks about the discrimination women face when dating a certain class of men. She addresses the issue of people insulting women for dating rich men and yet forgive men for stealing.

The singer advises women to be focused on securing the bag’. The song is off her 2020 album, ‘Celia‘.

Gentle Lady- Salawa Abeni

Ever before any of the songs on this list were released, Salawa Abeni had set the foundation for girl power songs.

Her music career in a male-dominated Fuji world was a struggle that she won. She’s the only woman in the Fuji genre that has gained widespread recognition and respect in Nigeria.

Salawa Abeni‘s career took off while most women musicians were struggling to be backup singers, back in the day.

To date, Salawa is still a well respected Fuji artiste, and it’s an undisputed fact. She’s not one of the boys, she’s a gentle lady.
