Nigerian heavyweights Davido, Rema, and Omah Lay are among the headline names announced for the festival, which is scheduled to take place from June 9 to June 11, 2027, in Portimão, Portugal.

The three-day celebration will bring together leading acts from Afrobeats, Amapiano, dancehall, and other African-influenced genres, continuing Afro Nation’s reputation as a major international platform for African music.

On the lit stage, Davido, Rema, and Congolese superstar Fally Ipupa headline the lineup. Omah Lay and Jamaican singer Shenseea are also billed for the stage, alongside Odeal, Victony, Valiant, Bamby, Rayvanny, and MiMi Kids.

Amapiano will take centre stage on the Piano People Stage, where South African hitmakers Kabza De Small and TxC lead the lineup. Dlala Thukzin joins as a special guest, while Young Stunna, Zee Nxumalo, 031Choppa, W4DE, Xduppy and Al Xapo are also scheduled to perform.

The festival experience will extend into the night with a Lit Stage after-party featuring South Gidi, DJ Maphorisa and DJ Tunez. Over at the Afrotronic VIP Stage, DJs including Caiiro and DJEFF are set to keep the atmosphere going.

Afro Nation Portugal has become a major meeting point for African music and its global audience, attracting performers and fans from different parts of the world.

With Davido, Rema, Omah Lay, Fally Ipupa, and Kabza De Small among the names announced, the 2027 edition is already shaping up as another major showcase of the sounds driving Africa’s global music movement.

Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy have been named among the Top 20 musicians in Africa by Forbes, joining entertainers from South Africa, Tanzania, Congo, and the Republic of Benin.

The trio made the list along with four other Nigerian performers, according to an article on the Forbes website.

The business publication remarked that African music is receiving well-deserved international acclaim.

“It is clear that African music is getting the recognition it deserves and the continent’s distinctive sounds are taking the world by storm, this includes Amapiano, Afropop, Afrobeat, Gengetone and more.”

Other Nigerian singers included in the list are Tiwa Savage, Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia, Mr Eazi and KDDO.

According to Forbes; ”The music emanating out of Africa today is record-breaking in every sense. with the new sounds, there have been new pathways to success for African artists. these creators have taken everything from Amapiano to Afrobeats and told the African growth story, in decibels that have made the world sit up.

South Africa’s Master KG, Black Koffee, DJ Maphorisa; Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny, Nasty C, and Congolese singer, Fally Ipupa were also listed.

Recently, Cuppy posted a new photo of herself and Rema via her verified Instagram account with over four million followers.

She captioned the photo with;

“Cupcakes ???? and Ravers ???? GATHER BELOW”

Their hang-out comes two years after the “Calm Down” crooner featured on Cuppy’s “Jollof on the Jet” song alongside Rayvanny off her Original Copy album.

Days after releasing the song, DJ Cuppy in a tweet told fans that she hasn’t met Rema and Rayvanny physically but did not disclose why.

The YouTube account of one of Africa’s most popular pop stars, Diamond Platnumz has been restored after being reportedly taken over by hackers, which resulted in its suspension.

On Sunday, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz page, which has over 6.5 million subscribers and over a billion page views, was allegedly hacked.

The hackers allegedly went live on the platform with cryptocurrency news.

According to a representative from Diamond Platnumz’s record label, Wasafi, they received an email from YouTube informing them that the account had been suspended.

According to Majidi Ramadhani, it was suspended when hackers published content that breached the digital platform’s guidelines.

He told Kenya’s Daily Nation that the company had sustained a large loss and that they were attempting to rectify the situation.

He also used the opportunity to announce his new video, “Wonder”

Why did he swap from gospel to secular music?

It’s a very rare occasion where a gospel artist swaps to different kinds of music flavours. Most of the time it’s due to the larger audience and better market that is present in the other kinds of music like hip-hop, R&B compared to the gospel.

It’s nothing personal just business. In one of the interviews, Willy Paul confessed that his decision to swap was mainly because of how his fellow artists have always been against him and he received a lot of hate and how his gospel music wasn’t good enough.

This made him break and broke to the point he became depressed for months. When he was tired of feeling pity for himself he decided to take a U-turn that changed his life.

As a result of these actions, he was often criticized as a man who sold his soul. This is Kenya you have to pick and choose once you are a gospel singer you are already in it. The double standard in this is that secular artists are free to sing gospel or once in a while. Welcome to the confusing world!

Willy Paul; scandals attached to the name.

There are many scandals on Willy Paul and as you must have guessed many involve the ladies. However, the most recent is shocking. The lady who is no longer signee under the label Saldido; Miss P who has done collaborations with Willy on liar and fall in love reveled in her interviews on how willy has been sexually harassing her.

There were a lot of reactions some said it’s due to clout and they were about to release a song; others said it because she wants a pity party but when she said even lawyers had to get involved for her to be able to leave Saldido without any charges that’s when I knew shit is serious.

Pozee who is married to a Jamaican lady and has a bouncing baby boy has been facing many allegations and after a time, even as fans, we get tired of defending him. However, since he’s so good at what he does music, his private life besides music is often overlooked. No man is perfect, but if you’re a famous artist you got to try!

Pozee; Are his collaborations better than his singles?

I guess when you are a great artist more people automatically become against you. It’s like the famous saying ‘you’ll show haters how your dog walks on water and they’ll ask why it can’t swim. Songs like ‘Jigi jigi’  that he didn’t collaborate with anyone did very great and stayed on top charts in most east African countries for weeks.

Also, collaborations have done well as well including the one he did with Alaine ‘yes I do’ or ‘Njiwa and ‘Hallelujah’ with the African princess from Tanzania Nandy.

Without forgetting the song ‘Mhhh’ he collaborated with RayVanny from Tanzania. Why then does this happen? My theory is he’s a great artist and everything he touches becomes gold, collaboration or not. We’ve seen a couple of collaborations flops, so people should move on from that notion.

Nigerian indigenous rapper Zlatan drops his long-awaited second album titled “RESAN” a follow-up to his debut studio album titled Zanku.

The new album ‘Resan’ has features from guest artists Davido, Sho Madjozi, Bella Shmurda, Ms. Banks, Buju, etc.

There were predictions that I won’t be here for long, but God and my fans have proven all naysayers wrong. For this, I’m joyous and grateful.

I’ve burnt the candle at both ends to ensure that our album is top notch. I worked my ass out to please my fans and not let y’all down. It’s been hard but it’s been worth it.

Huge thank you to everyone that worked with me on this album…my team, the featured artists, the producers, sound engineers etc. You guys made it easier for me.

Zlatan has, however, lasted in the industry contrary to the revamp stereotype by naysayers that he won’t last long in the music industry as the trend would quietly be swept by other street hop emerging acts.

Also,  linking his career to his preceding street hop major players who have come and gone through the thin air,  it is really inspiring to see him still stand fit to date.
