Mp3bullet.ng celebrates wonderful fathers with these Nigerian songs that show how important they are to us.

Every third Sunday in June, the sixth month of the year, is a doubly special year.

This is true not only because it marks the halfway point of the year, but also because it is the time of year when fathers all over the world are actively and formally recognized for beginning the arduous journey of love that is to father a child.

While the children who get the nurturing recognize these men in their lives as fathers and providers first and foremost, to different people, these fathers represent a variety of roles.

We gathered a selection of tunes that honour fathers in honour of the beauty of Father’s Day.

Good Father – Prince Nico Mbarga

The brilliant Prince Nico Mbarga wrote the timeless song ‘Sweet Mother,’ and to balance the scale, he wrote ‘Good Father.’

The song ‘Good Father‘ highlights the lessons passed down from father to son and how they develop him into a better man. The melody of this song, which honours the fathers’ generation, has a charming highlife tune that takes you back in time.

Charlie – Simi

Simi paid a moving homage to her father with her song “Charlie.” The song perfectly expresses the overwhelming feelings of missing a parent who is no longer in her life.

This song is dedicated to the amazing fathers who are no longer with us and the legacy they left behind as we celebrate Father’s Day.

Daddy – Reminisce featuring Davido

This is a lovely song that expresses the wish of every father for his children: that they will surpass them.

This song, which has a nice owambe beat, will make fathers happily shuffle their feet.

Papa – Johnny Drille

With his song “Papa,” singer and musician Johnny Drille paid a soothing homage to fathers.

This song, which is lyrical and mellow, offers an operatic appreciation of the important teachings a father imparts to his child.

It also shows the barrier-shattering courage a youngster acquires from watching his father work so hard to provide for his family.

Highlife is back, and this time its refined, rebranded in quality form, The Cavemen is on the mission of restoring almost lost or forgotten genre.

Highlife is a music genre that began in present-day Ghana in the 19th century, in the time of a colony of the British Empire, It uses the melody and rhythmic structures of cultural Akan music, but played with Western instrumentals.

Highlife gained recognition among the eastern people of Nigeria during the world war, as they combined and finetune it with their established music forming a contemporary musical genre known as Igbo highlife.

Highlife is a special genre that needs to evolve, we all grew up listening to particular highlife artists like Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe, Oliver De Coque, Chief Dr Prince Morocco Maduka, Oriental Brothers, Dr Sir Warrior, Prince Nico Mbarga.

The Cavemen was officially created in 2018, the duo has sharpened the highlife genre by playing with esteemed popular artists such as Onyeka Onwenu, Asa, Bez, and alte star Lady Donli.

They Refined the usual highlife with infused modern elements, Sang in Igbo and Pidgin English to foster the grassroots reach, simply the modern ringleaders for highlife music.

‘Roots’ Album revolves around the significant things in life such as happiness, love, and unpredictability of reality, easily connected to the roots and brawl of mankind, it is a sound with deep roots in the narrative of African music.

The combination of Guitar (esp. fingerstyle), horns, brass, drums, the gong, and the extra vocals that rely heavily on percussion instruments.

All tracks in the ‘Roots’ Album are highly rich with sounds and lyrical depth.

The ability to interpret and connect each track on a live band makes it quite uncommon and special, they are actually underrated and deserve more accolades.

Nigerians and the world are unconsciously responsive-without persuasions to the highlife sound, especially for those that appreciate the purest form of sounds and the knowledge of the genre.

The movement has already begun as they are gradually gaining recognition across the nation and beyond.
