Nigerian R&B sensation Wizkid is set to take the spotlight as the headliner for Saudi Arabia’s largest music festival, the SoundStorm Festival, scheduled to take place from the 14th to the 16th of December 2023.

The SoundStorm Festival is a prominent annual 3-day music conference held in Riyadh, featuring workshops, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and various nightlife activations. As one of Saudi Arabia’s major music festivals, Soundstorm has emerged as a cultural catalyst in the region.

Nada Al Halabi, MDLBEAST Strategy Director, said, “I really make sure that we have diversity in our events, whether in the lineup, whether in our attendees. We always make sure that our experience is catered to the females as well. Maybe I’m one of the few people who are into this position, but I’m hoping more to have more females in the space”.

Nigerian award-winning artist AG Baby has expressed his thoughts on why Afrobeats is unrivalled.

Afrobeats is on the rise around the world, with the music reaching more people and Nigerian celebrities selling out major venues and winning international prizes.

Adekunle Gold’s music is one of those that pushes the creative boundaries of Afrobeats. He recently released his fifth studio album, ‘Tequila Ever After,’ which contains international superstars like Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Khalid, and Labrinth.

The album has received critical and commercial praise, with the single ‘Ogaranya‘ sparking a significant social media challenge.

While speaking about the rise of Nigerian mainstream music in an interview with Shopping for Sneakers, AG Baby remarked that Afrobeats as a genre cannot be matched.

According to Adekunle, now known as Tio Tequila, Afrobeats contains a variety of components that make it difficult to compete with.

“It’s hard to compete with us. Afrobeats is a vibe…It’s not just the music, it’s a way of life,” Adekunle said.

In preparation for the release of his fifth album, “Tequila Ever After,” Nigerian Afrobeat superstar AG Baby has shared the inspiration for his project.

Adekunle Gold is one of the musicians whose work pushes the limits of Afrobeats’ creativity with his brilliant sound fusion, sublime writing, and outstanding stage presence.

AG Baby talks to Nandi Madiba, the host of Apple Music Africa Now Radio, on how his new album, “Tequila Ever After,” came to be.

Adekunle Gold claimed that he was given a bottle of tequila to help him cheer up after his previous album, “Catch Me If You Can,” was delayed.

He had never consumed that particular brand of alcohol before, and according to AG, the booze changed his entire demeanour.

AG Baby draws inspiration from a variety of music greats, and he attributes one of them to having changed his life through his words. Pharrell Williams, a 12-time Grammy winner, allegedly improved AG’s life with his motivational speeches.

Chinedu Ikedieze, better known by his stage name Aki, reacted after Snoop Dogg, a well-known American rapper, used his meme to spread a message to the public.

Taking to Instagram, Snoop Dogg decided to share the meme which had a photo of ‘Aki’ shedding tears along with a caption that reads:

When Aki came across the post, he shared it on his Instagram story while laughing at the meme’s text.
