The 2023 Kopa Trophy nominees for the Ballon d’Or’s top young player award have been unveiled. Among the contenders are the reigning champion, Gavi, and the Real Madrid sensation, Jude Bellingham. Barcelona midfielder Pedri has angrily hit out at his teammates after their embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

Pedri started the game in midfield and was one of the team’s better players on the night. He continued to play until the hour mark, at which point Xavi offered him a break due to the busy schedule that lay ahead.

After the Champions League loss, the young player spoke to the media and discussed a variety of subjects, including his team’s performance.

The first thing Pedri mentioned was that knowing the outcome of Inter Milan’s game affected their performance. The Canary Islanders said that neither side was driven.

He said: “It was a difficult game, we already knew the result of the Inter game and maybe we didn’t come out with the same motivation. We have to be calmer with the ball. Sometimes we rush and lose a lot of possessions.”
