Nigerian artist Shallipopi has been announced as one of the performers at the highly anticipated annual edition of Afronation 2024, alongside other music stars.

Scheduled to take place from June 26 to 28, 2024, at Praia Da Rocha Beach, Portugal, this edition of the popular festival boasts an impressive lineup featuring Afro-pop juggernauts such as Rema, Asake, J Hus, Tyla, and more.

With over 10 African artists set to take the stage, Afronation 2024 promises to be an electrifying event celebrating the vibrant sounds of the continent. Additionally, media personality and talk show host Adesope Olajide, popularly known as Shopsydoo, has been announced as one of the hosts for the music festival, adding to the excitement surrounding the event.

Ghanaian talented artist Black Sherif has bagged his first BET award in the “Best International Flow” category at the 2023 Hip Hop Awards.

This achievement comes after being nominated twice, and this time, he emerged victorious in the Best International Flow category at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Black Sherif outshone nine other rappers to claim the award, including fellow African nominees Aka and K.O from South Africa, as well as Sampa The Great from Zimbabwe. His competition also included Gazo (France), Central Cee (UK), J Hus (UK), Major Rd (Brazil), Ninho (France), and Tasha & Tracie (Brazil).

Notably, Black Sherif received his first nomination in the ‘Best International Flow’ category last year but did not win, losing to Benjamin Epps.

This year, he competed in the ‘Best International Flow’ category alongside Benjamin Epps (France), Central Cee (UK), Blxckie (South Africa), Haviah Mighty (Canada), Knucks (UK), Le Juiice (France), Nadia Nakai (Zimbabwe), and Tasha & Tracie (Brazil) at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards.

The show was taped in Atlanta on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, and is scheduled to be broadcasted live on October 10th, offering fans a chance to celebrate Black Sherif’s well-deserved victory.

Burna Boy was nominated for the Best International Act category for BET Awards 2020 alongside Stormzy, Sho Madjozi, Innoss’ B, Dave, Ninho, S’ Pri Noir.

While the BET Awards couldn’t take place physically due to the coronavirus, the ceremony happened online.

International model, Noami Campbell presented the award to Burna Boy making the African Giant singer the first African Artist to win Award for the same category for twice in a row.

Burna Boy gave an inspiring speech on the importance of loving one’s heritage and roots. And said that for Black lives to matter, Africa must matter.
