After eight years of marriage, Ne-yo’s wife, Crystal Smith, dumps him on Instagram due to adultery.

Crystal, Neyo’s wife, made her decision only three months after they renewed their vows. On February 20, 2016, Neyo married Crystal, and the two became parents to 3 children.

They exchanged fresh vows in a magnificent ceremony in Las Vegas, USA, in April 2022.

In a lengthy statement uploaded on social media, Renay reveals that throughout the duration of their marriage, she has shared her spouse with various women.

She further added that she is disgusted and heartbroken since her husband had unprotected sex with each and every one of them.

Crystal wrote,

“Eight years; Eight years of lies and deception. Eight years of unknowingly sharing my life and husband with numerous women who sell their bodies to him unprotected… every last one of them!

“To say I’m heartbroken and disgusted is an understatement. To ask me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane; the mentality of a narcissist.

“I will no longer lie to the public or pretend that this is something it isn’t.”

She noted that though she gained three children from the marriage, she was left with “wasted years and heartache.”

She continued,

“I choose me, I choose my happiness and health and my respect. I gained three beautiful children out of this but nothing else but wasted years and heartache.

“I ask that you all please stop sending me videos or information of him cheating because what he does is no longer my concern. I am not a victim. I’m choosing to stand tall with my head held high.

“If someone can’t love you the way you deserve, then it’s up to you to love yourself. With no hate in my heart I wish him nothing but the best.”

The singer’s wife signed the statement with her maiden name – Crystal Renay – which indicated that she had dropped her husband’s surname.

Born Shaffer Smith, the singer renewed his marital vows to Crystal in April 2022.

Ne-Yo mentioned this during a press conference with Flytime Music on Wednesday, the same night he was due to headline the music festival.

He said at the conference that he had no idea he had such a large following in Lagos.

“I remember being pleasantly surprised the first time I came to Lagos, Nigeria. I genuinely had no idea that I had such an amazing fan base here,” he said.

The Miss Independent crooner then talked about the Nigerian style of music, afrobeats, and his intention to delve into the genre.

He said, “For me to sit with producers and go and be like, ‘Let’s do some afrobeat today’, I’ll feel like an imposter.

“If I want to get into it, I want to be invited by an artiste who’s already there. Let me feature on an artiste who’s already there or I get an artiste who’s already there to feature on something of mine, so that’s authentic and real.

“I’ll love to collaborate with some African artistes. Wizkid is on the list, Tems is on the list, Burna Boy is on the list, and Ckay is on the list.

“I’m just waiting on a phone call basically. I don’t have anybody’s number for me to call. I’m waiting for them to call me.”

Ne-Yo was interviewed by American entertainment magazine, NME where he revealed songs he liked including “Essence” by Wizkid.

The singer revealed that the first song he remembers hearing is ‘Overjoyed” by Stevie Wonder, Billy Ocean’s “Suddenly” was the first song he fell in love with and The Pharcyde’s “Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde” was the first album he bought.

When asked about the song he wish he had written, he responded with Wizkid’s “Essence“.

Explaining his reason, Ne-Yo said that the song is one of those records that just makes sense and that he wishes that he had have thought of it first.

He also revealed that he has once met Wizkid although he wasn’t sure the Nigerian superstar would remember their meeting.

Ne-Yo also stated that he was proud of the moves Big Wiz has been making and said he was one of the new generation artists he respect.

He said;

“It’s one of those records that just makes sense. They could run it back 17 times and you ain’t gonna say nothing, you’re just gonna let it happen. I wish that I’d have thought of it first.

I met him once, real quick – he wouldn’t remember. But I’m super proud of that dude for making the moves that he’s making. He’s one of the new generation that I can genuinely say I respect.”
