Secular artists aren’t the only persons to have enjoyed International collaborations, Nigerian Gospel Artists have also gotten the benefit of working with International Gospel Artists to produce spirit-filled songs.

In most cases, there is no room for competitiveness in Christiandom, and the major reason why artists from various regions gather together is to spread the gospel more effectively.

There have been times when Nigerian gospel artists have been able to include non-African performers in their songs, which has aided in the dissemination of the kingdom’s message and improved relations between the two countries.

To commemorate some of these outstanding events, this list honours the top 10 Nigerian and International Gospel collaborations.

Nara – Tim Godfrey / Travis Greene

The number one slot on this list belongs to the 2018 AGMA Worship Song of the Year. Tim Godfrey of ROX Nation teamed up with award-winning international crooner Travis Greene to create an award-winning hit that captivated the Christian community.

SMJ produced the tune, which won multiple prizes including AGAFEST and AGMA Song of the Year in 2018.

The song currently has over 60 Million views on Youtube.

This God is too Good- Nathaniel Bassey / Micah Stampley

Nathaniel Bassey, one of Africa’s most prolific worshipers and singer-songwriters, who has blessed the world with a plethora of inspirational songs from his heart, finally released his first international collaboration titled “This God is Too Good” with singer Micah Stampley in 2017.

The song, however, was overshadowed by another of his songs, Onise Iyanu, which was released later.

Ka Anyi Bulie Gi Elu- Frank Edwards / Don Moen

On the way to releasing his album Frankincense in 2016, Rock Town Music founder and rich boy Frank Edwards released a track named Ka Anyi Bulie Gi Elu with renowned gospel phenomenal performer Don Moen, which means “Lets lift you (God) high” in the native Igbo language of Nigeria.

At the end of the same year, the duo released an EP record titled Grace.

Na You- Dunsin Oyekan / Kim Burrel

Following his success with the song Na You while serving as the National Music Director of the Common Wealth of Zion Assembly [COZA], seasoned Music Minister Dunsin Oyekan collaborates with exceptional vocalist and pastor Kim Burrel in a remix that nearly overshadows the original.

The duo then sang the song together for the latter’s debut ministration in Nigeria at The Experience 2016.

Baba -Frank Edwards / Micah Stampley

Frank’s album Frankincense, which features Micah Stampley, Don Moen, and Nathaniel Bassey, was released in 2016 and wowed everyone when it topped Beyonce’s and Adele’s albums on the iTunes album chart within a few hours of its release.

Baba, which features 2004 Stellar Award winner Micah Stampley, is one of the album’s tracks. The song, however, had little impact on the Nigerian gospel music charts, although it still made the top ten.

With My Hands- Sinach ft Micah Stampley

Sinach enlists the help of American Gospel singer, Micah Stampley on this powerful song.

Excess Love remix- Mercy chinwo ft JJ Hairston

In 2018, Mercy Chinwo took over the nation with her beautiful inspirational song, “Excess Love” which was her breakthrough hit. Two years later in 2020, she teamed up with American worship leader, JJ Hairston for the remix.

She also released it as part of her 2020 Album, “Satisfied“. While the original has over 35 Million views on youtube, the remix had over 32 Million views.

“You don’t need no man to be the God you are…” My favorite punchline from this song. Well, silently Bassey knows how to drop great lines of words with deep meanings. Let’s take it that it’s one of his “special gifts” for being a gospel minister.

As for this song, he teams up with Chigozie Achugo who in turn lifts our souls with her smooth vocals in taking charge of the chorus.

On Spotify, it’s doing pretty well as it records 1,566,163 streams.

Also from this same album comes this song he names after it, featuring Micah Stampley.
