The only Italian to win the Premier League, the most coveted trophy in English football history, is one of many unusual facts about club football that, despite being difficult to believe, are actually true.

The Italian player to ever achieve this feat is Mario Balotelli, who won it with Manchester City and Carlo Cudicini as a goalkeeper with Chelsea.

The match between the two teams was played for the 187th time on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the Etihad Stadium. In recent years, Manchester City has dominated the tie in recent seasons, and this game was not going to be an exception.

• Manchester City became the third team to have two hat trick scorers in a Premier League game thanks to Erling Haaland and Phil Foden’s hat trick in the match.
