Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP on a five-year contract.

The 22-year-old has played for Uruguay eight times and had Chelsea of the Premier League interested before deciding to move to France.

Ugarte’s personal contract with PSG was finalized in May, but the Blues chose to turn their attention to other players like Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

On his move to the Ligue 1 champions, Ugarte said: “I’m really happy to take this big step in my career at such a great club.

“I’m going to give my all for Paris Saint-Germain.”

After agreements for free agents Marco Asensio and Milan Skriniar were reached, Ugarte joins PSG as the club’s third addition in as many days. While Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi have left, there is still a lot of uncertainty about Kylian Mbappe’s future.

The midfielder, who spent the previous two seasons at Sporting where he won the 2021/22 Taca da Liga, will wear the number four shirt in Paris. Ugarte, who had previously excelled for Famalicao after making his name at Fenix in Uruguay, appeared in 85 games for the Portuguese team in total.

In his first club position since leaving Barcelona in 2017, new head coach Luis Enrique will be in charge of managing him.

Ugarte was a member of his nation’s 2022 World Cup squad as well, although he didn’t play a single competitive minute as Uruguay was eliminated in the group stage.

PSG officially announced that Marco Asensio joins the club on a free transfer, and the Spanish striker has signed a deal for three seasons, until June 2026.

After leaving Real Madrid, Marco Asensio is the newest player to join PSG on a free transfer.

Asensio’s departure from Real Madrid after seven seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu has already been announced.

Asensio will be hoping for regular football at PSG after struggling for starts at Madrid in recent years. New manager Luis Enrique has already promised he wants to play attacking football at PSG and has worked with Asensio previously while in charge of the Spain national team.

“It’s a privilege to be part of this great club that is PSG,” he told the club’s official website. “I look forward to joining my new team-mates and working with them to achieve great goals.”

Now Asensio may begin working with his new group. Later this month, PSG will go to Japan for a preseason tour and friendlies against Al-Nassr, Cerezo Osaka, and Inter.

Real Madrid have made the announcement of Brahim Diaz signed a new four-year contract upon his return to the club.

Initially paying £15.5 million to sign Diaz from Manchester City in January 2019, Los Blancos waited as the young Spanish player struggled to make an impact before sending him on a one-year loan to AC Milan in the summer of 2020.

Later, Diaz would sign a new two-year loan agreement and return to Milan, where he established himself as a crucial member of the team that won the Serie A title in 2021–2022. He has since returned to Spain to resume playing for Real Madrid’s first team.

After his comeback, Diaz signed a new contract that will keep him with Los Blancos through the summer of 2027. On Tuesday, June 13, the 23-year-old will once again be introduced to the media.

During his first 18 months on the books, Diaz made 21 appearances for Real Madrid, contributing with two goals and three assists while primarily sitting on the bench or being left off the squad.

Diaz had the chance to revive his career thanks to his loan to Milan, and he leaves Italy as the Serie A champion after making no less than 124 appearances for the Rossoneri.

The most fruitful year of Diaz’s senior career was 2022–2023. The Spaniard scored six goals and provided seven assists while playing primarily as an attacking midfielder for Milan, with sporadic appearances on the left wing.

The hole caused by the exits of Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, and Mariano Diaz will be somewhat filled by Diaz’s return to Real Madrid.

According to reports, PSG has agreements in place that will allow them to sign both Manuel Ugarte and Marco Asensio in a double transfer swoop.

The freshly crowned Ligue 1 champions are prepared to add to their roster during the summer transfer window as they get set to say goodbye to free players like Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi. Two foreign artists are on their way to Parc des Princes for early business.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Asensio, a forward for the national team of Spain, will join PSG as a free agent from Real Madrid with a deal that runs through 2027. On Monday, the 27-year-old will get a medical exam in the French capital.

According to a report, Marco Asensio will join Paris Saint-Germain in a free transfer after his contract with Real Madrid expires this summer.

According to The Athletic, Asensio, 27, has already signed a long-term deal with PSG for €10 million (£8.5 million/$11 million) annually. The international player from Spain has not yet signed the contract but will do so when the campaign is over.

The winger, who originally joined from Mallorca in 2015 before being loaned to Espanyol shortly after, announced in May that he would reject Madrid’s offer to extend his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu. He will depart the club after eight years of service.

Aston Villa is rumoured to be interested in Asensio, while teams in Italy have also expressed an interest in him. Asensio has also been linked to a transfer to the Premier League. He will instead join forces with Kylian Mbappe in Paris.
