Nigerian music superstars Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid have garnered the most nominations for the 2024 Africa Arts Entertainments Awards (AAEA).

The nominees for this year’s AAEA have been announced, with Davido receiving twelve nominations, Burna Boy ten, and Wizkid seven. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on August 17 in Kenya.

The three artists are vying for several top honors, including AAEA Best Continental Male Artiste and AAEA Continental Artiste of the Year.

Other notable nominees include Rema, Tems, Omah Lay, Yemi Alade, Asake, Tiwa Savage, Simi, Majeed, Lojay, Ayra Starr, and Kizz Daniel.

The AAEA celebrates the achievements of African music artists, honoring their talents and successes.     Emerging Nigerian artist Majeed has caused a stir online by disclosing the substantial fee quoted by renowned music video director TG Omori.

    According to Majeed, the well-known director, often referred to as the “Boy Director,” requested a staggering sum of N90 million (equivalent to $100,000) from his team to produce a music video for one of his songs. Majeed took to his official Twitter account to share this information, punctuating his post with laughing emojis to convey his astonishment at the fee.

    The ‘Smile For Me’ singer tweeted; “Just remembered that TG charged my team $100k to shoot a music video for me… 90 million naira 😂😂😂”
