Bruno Mars’s previous record of 6 RIAA diamond-certified records has been broken by Posty, who now has 8 such records.

The 17x platinum certification for his Swae Lee-assisted song “Sunflower” ties Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” for the highest platinum certification ever.

In celebration of his new achievement, Post will release a new compilation, The Diamond Collection, to streaming services tonight.

The 10th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards have been held, and the event brought together some of the biggest talents in the industry for an evening of radio blockbusters, must-hear songs, and cultural touchstones.

On Monday, March 27, the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards will honour the best musicians in the game at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

A mix of performance-based categories and socially conscious categories, including Best Lyrics, Best Music Video, Best Fan Army, Social Star Award, Favorite Tour Photographer, TikTok Bop of the Year, Favorite Documentary, Favorite Tour Style, Favorite Residency, and Favorite Use of a Sample, will be presented at the awards ceremony. Rema has made history once more as the music video for his international hit song “Calm down” surpasses 400 million views on YouTube, becoming the first ever Nigerian music video to do so.

According to reports, Rema’s Calm Down tune is the first Afrobeat song to achieve such a feat.

The song “Calm Down” is from Rema’s debut studio album, Rave and Rose, which was released earlier in 2022.

The Mavin record artist also dropped a remix with American singer Selena Gomez, and as of 2022, that song had amassed the highest streams of any Afro-beat song.

Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ckay, Fireboy DML, and Tems have been nominated for Afrobeats Artist of the Year at the upcoming 11th edition of iHeartRadio Music Awards 2023.

Talented Nigerian singer and songwriter Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, has bagged a total of four nominations at the 2022 American Music Awards.

This is a new record for a Nigerian artist as the singer received nominations in top categories and with collaborations as well.

Tems has been nominated for four American Music Awards, which will be presented on November 21st, 2022.

The singer’s total number of international awards has significantly increased thanks to her nominations for the BET Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The nominations for the 2022 American Music Awards were announced on Thursday, October 13th, 2022. The award presentation is scheduled to take place at the Microsoft Theater in the US on November 21, 2022, at 2:00 am WAT.

This year, Bad Bunny leads the pack with eight nominations. Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Drake follow closely behind with six nominations each, while Adele, Harry Styles and The Weeknd are each up for five nominations.

To kick off this year’s reveal of nominations for the largest fan-voted awards show, two-time AMA winner Becky G announced the nominees for new artist of the year in a video that aired on “Good Morning America.”

The artists up for the highly coveted award include Dove Cameron, GAYLE, Latto, Måneskin and Steve Lacy. The full list of nominees was then revealed on the AMAs Twitter account.

New categories this year include favourite rock songs, favourite rock albums, favourite Afrobeats artists and favourite K-pop artists. Fan voting for all awards is open, except for favourite K-pop artists, which will open on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Lil Nas X got into a spat with BET over the fact that he wasn’t nominated for any of their awards this year.

The rapper teased a new song in which he hurled expletives at the network, expressing his displeasure with the network.

“Fuck BET, fuck BET/Lick it on up, slurp it/ Make it sloppy, ok, ok, ok, ok/ Look at how I top shit/I just put like three up in the top 10/And I don’t need nobody/I just need these ccs on my body/Everything I do be tryna run, go make a profit/Read about it,” he raps in the song, “Late to da Party” which will feature YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

And the network replied, telling him that they still love him.

“We love Lil Nas X. He was nominated for a best new artist BET Award in 2020 and we proudly showcased his extraordinary talent and creativity on the show twice,” the statement from BET reads, per Variety. “Unfortunately, this year, he was not nominated by BET’s Voting Academy, which is comprised of an esteemed group of nearly 500 entertainment professionals in the fields of music, television, film, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, influencers and creative arts.”

The statement continues, “No one from BET serves as a member of the Voting Academy. At BET, we are passionate advocates for the wonderful diversity that exists within our community… We are committed to using all of our platforms to provide visibility and inclusion for all of the many intersections of the Black community.”

Also, in a post made to Instagram, BET wrote, “This is bigger than the #BETAwards. This is real life and we will always rock with Lil’ Nas X and stand for our people.”
