Tyler Adams‘ £20 million (€23 million/$25 million) transfer to Chelsea has been cancelled, despite the midfielder having passed a club medical.

The USMNT international’s contract had been advanced by the Blues, but they withdrew on Friday, forcing the 24-year-old to return to Leeds.

The specific cause of Chelsea’s change of heart is unclear, and the club denies that it has anything to do with Moises Caicedo’s rising price.

The arrival of Caicedo, which could set a record, maybe the main factor, according to The Telegraph.

Adams, who captained the USMNT in last year’s World Cup in Qatar, is now left in limbo and will be hoping to land at another Premier League club before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Leeds United appointed Daniel Farke as their new manager on a four-year deal ahead of their return to the Championship.

Farke succeeds Sam Allardyce, who failed to keep the Whites in the Premier League and left in early June after being appointed two months earlier.

Last season, he was at Bundesliga team Borussia Monchengladbach, but he was fired after only one season after leading them to a 10th-place finish.

Farke’s employment at Leeds is his first in English football after a four-year stint at Norwich, where he won the Championship twice in 2019 and 2021 before being fired nearly two years ago.

Farke was chosen manager of Russian club Krasnodar in January 2022 after leaving Norwich, however, he departed the club two months later without managing any games following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

On his appointment at Elland Road, Farke said: “I’d like to thank everyone for the really warm welcome, I’m really grateful at this moment, to work for this amazing club.

“I feel humble at this time, I know the responsibility to fulfil all the expectations and I want to repay the trust shown.

Leeds United have confirmed that manager Sam Allardyce has left the club by mutual agreement.

Allardyce was hurried into Elland Road with only four games remaining in the 2022/23 season to try to avoid relegation from the Premier League, replacing Javi Gracia.

He began his Leeds career with a close 2-1 loss away at eventual winners Manchester City before drawing 2-2 with top-four Newcastle United.

Leeds blew a 3-1 lead against West Ham United on the last weekend of the season and headed into the final day of the season having to beat Tottenham Hotspur to have any hope of survival. The Spurs thrashed them 4-1.

And Leeds have now released a statement confirming that Allardyce will not return to the club for the 2023/24 season.

“Leeds United and Sam Allardyce can confirm that both parties have mutually agreed for Sam’s spell at the club to end following the completion of the 2022/23 season,” a statement read.

“Sam joined the Whites for the final four games of the campaign and despite spirited performances against Manchester City and Newcastle United, the objective of staying in the Premier League was not reached.”

Allardyce told Leeds’ club channels: “It has been an honour to manage Leeds United, a great club with an incredible fan base, who deserve to be in the Premier League. I have really enjoyed working with the staff and players at the club and I would like to thank Angus Kinnear for the opportunity. I’d also like to highlight the outstanding work of Karl Robinson and Robbie Keane who have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks.

“At this stage in my career I am not sure taking on this challenge, which is potentially a long-term project, is something I could commit to, but I wish the club every success for the future and hope the club returns to the Premier League, where they belong.”

Leeds also stated that an announcement on Allardyce’s replacement will be made in the coming weeks.

According to The Telegraph, Allardyce addressed his future with Elland Road club CEO Angus Kinnear and opted not to continue in command.

Allardyce, 68, took over as manager of Leeds on May 3, replacing Javi Gracia. Leeds finished 17th in the league but were relegated after only one point from four games played under him.

Leeds will now start looking for a new manager to assist take the team out of the Championship and back into the English Premier League. They may also need to hire a new director of football after losing Victor Orta throughout the season.

As they prepare for life in English football’s second division, the team will try to rebuild throughout the summer.

Allardyce was beaten 2-1 by Guardiola’s Manchester City in his first game in charge of Leeds after replacing Javi Gracia in the final four games of the season. He will now face former club Newcastle on Saturday in a game that the relegation-threatened Whites cannot afford to lose.

Barcelona winger Raphinha has refuted claims that he has authorized the team to begin accepting bids for him during the forthcoming summer transfer window.

Raphinha moved from Leeds to Barcelona last summer in a deal worth up to £55 million. The Brazilian’s season got off to a rocky start as he was in and out of the starting lineup and had trouble scoring and providing assists.

Although he only made four direct goal contributions in his first 15 La Liga appearances, he has found his groove after 2022 became 2023.

However, with plans to re-sign Lionel Messi, Barcelona’s continued financial issues will necessitate player sales once more in order to earn money for the upcoming season.

According to reports, Ansu Fati has already been informed that he may depart.

Leeds United have announced that Sam Allardyce will take over as manager immediately, succeeding Javi Gracia.

With only four games left, the Whites are presently barely out of the Premier League relegation zone on goal differential.

After Jesse Marsch was fired, Gracia was brought in to calm the ship. However, the Spaniard only managed to win three of his twelve matches at Elland Road, and he has since been sacked.

Mp3bullet reported on Tuesday that Leeds would sack director of football Victor Orta – which was confirmed later in the day – while Allardyce would take the head coach gig.

Allardyce, who has been unemployed since leaving West Brom in 2021 after failing to save them from the bottom, has now been named as the manager Leeds would be bringing in to help them fight relegation.

A club statement on the news reads: “Leeds United can confirm Javi Gracia will leave the club after 12 games in charge. Zigor Aranalde, Mikel Antia and Juan Solla, who joined alongside Gracia, will also leave the club.

“We thank Javi and his team for their efforts under difficult circumstances.

“The remaining four games of the season will be overseen by experienced head coach Sam Allardyce. Allardyce will be assisted by former MK Dons, Charlton Athletic and Oxford United manager Karl Robinson.

“His first game in charge of the Whites will be Saturday’s Premier League away trip at Manchester City.”

Since their last victory against 18th-placed Nottingham Forest at the beginning of April, Leeds has gone five games without a victory, and their future is in their own hands.
