Nigerian disc jockey Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, also recognized as DJ Cuppy, has once again drawn public attention by sharing the captivating backstory of one of her top-charting songs.

The viral clip in question unveils a fascinating tale of creativity soaring 15,000 feet above ground, shedding light on the origin of one of her most significant musical achievements.

In the Instagram video she uploaded on Wednesday, December 27, DJ Cuppy recounts an experience aboard one of her father’s private jets, accompanied by the skilled beatmaker Killertunes. The creative inspiration for the song struck her during a moment of enjoying Jollof rice.

The billionaire heiress, renowned for her dynamic and inventive approach to music, disclosed that the inception of the track involved a playful collaboration with Killertunes. The two, immersed in dance and grooves, conceived the sound that would later evolve into a musical sensation.

In her words, “A lot of people have also asked me where the jollof on the jet idea came from. I kid you not, there’s no humble way of saying this. I was on a private jet eating jollof rice and I was with the producer at the time. Shoutout to Killertunes. We were sat across each other. I was like Killertunes, like, jollof on the jet. And then I was like, I need to make a song about it. We were laughing like ah, jollof on the jet.”

In a quest to elevate the creative process, DJ Cuppy decided to share her idea with the talented artist Rema, who enthusiastically embraced it and promptly contributed his verse to the composition.

Cuppy also reached out to Tanzanian singer Rayvanny, who responded with an impressive Swahili verse, injecting a multicultural dimension into the song.

“I got this crazy idea to send it to Rema, and he was like, ‘Girl, you dey ginger me.’ Then, I thought it needs an actual spice, and I had just heard about this amazing Prince of East Africa, Rayvanny, so I sent it to him. There was a lot of DMing going on. Like, DMing is how the whole project happened. DMed it to Rayvanny, and he was like, ‘I was the song,’ and he sent something in Swahili. Can’t lie, I don’t know what he said, but it’s good stuff. And that’s how the record came together,” she explained.

Expressing her astonishment at the unexpected resurgence of the song, DJ Cuppy reflected on the track’s journey from its lighthearted creation to its current prominence in the viral clip. In response to the growing interest, Cuppy initiated a challenge to further engage her audience, fostering a sense of community among her fans. Nigerian singer, and songwriter Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, popularly known by his stage name Chike has unveiled the tracklist for his highly anticipated sophomore album, “The Brother’s Keeper.”

The singer is in pursuit of a second glory, after the vast acclaim he earned with his omnivorous debut album, “Boo of The Booless.”

Chike is known for his soulful vocals, cinematic songwriting, and amazing storytelling through music which he showed on songs from his Boo of the Booless era, which birthed hits – Roju, Nakupena, Out of Love, If You No Love, Amen, Beautiful People and Running (To You).

Chike is set to blow the airwave with his highly awaited sophomore project which is set to be released on the 25th of August, 2022.

The album’s opening track, “Hard to Find,” which features African music icon Flavour, recently debuted and amassed one million views on YouTube in only a week.

Nigerian Singer, Alpha P has shared the motivational talk some of Wizkid’s fans gave him.

On Sunday, Wizkid had taken to his Instagram stories to reveal the collaborations he had lined up for his forthcoming album, “More Love, less Ego” which is expected to be released this year.

Big Wiz revealed that he has a collaboration with Alpha P which will also feature his personal Disc Jockey, DJ Tunez and is produced by killertunes.

According to the superstar, the song is titled “Madam” and would be part of his forthcoming album.

The news seemed to have delighted Wizkid’s fans as Alpha P took to Twitter to share how his interactions with some of them went.

He revealed that three men walked up to him while in the gym and told him that Wizkid FC is solidly behind his back.

Alpha P is a singer-songwriter born in Benin City, Edo State, Lagos, Nigeria. He is currently signed to Universal Music Group, Nigeria.

Following the release of his first song, ‘Mercy’, he went on to release various singles such as, ‘Starboy’ and ‘Real Boys’.

Growing up, Alpha P was inspired by genres such as Trap, R&B, and afrobeats artists such as Wizkid, Wande Coal, D’banj and Banky W heavily impacted his taste while, artists such as Drake, Lana Del Rey, The Weekend, and Khalid inspired him to embrace a Western sound -hence his style of blending genres.

Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Wizkid has reunited with his long-disappeared producer, Northboi, in a new video that shows the duo working on new music in the studio.

The video was shared via Instagram on Wednesday, the 19th of January 2022.

In the video, the duo was working together on new music in the studio.

Recall, Northboi took to Twitter in September 2019 to chastise Wizkid for giving credit to Killertunes for Joro.

He also made it public that Wizkid had threatened him with a pistol when he requested a contract for his beats.

In this interview, The producer disclose that Joro was not the reason he was angry because even though Starboy gave another producer the credit for the song he produced.

In less than a decade, Mr Eazi has risen to the top of the music food chain with his creative, genre-bending songs that gives him an edge over every Afrobeat artists.

Born Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, Mr Eazi is the creator of Banku music, a fusion of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and rhythms.

He began booking artists to perform at college parties while a student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
