The 26-year-old penned a five-year contract on August 6, 2025, becoming the Toffees’ fifth major signing of a busy summer window, following the arrivals of Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, and Adam Aznou.

Expressing his excitement after sealing the move, Dewsbury-Hall said:

“Everton’s one of the biggest clubs in the country, and I think that in the next couple of years, the future is going to be bright. It was an easy decision in the end to come here and play for this club.”

The energetic midfielder, who first made his name at Leicester City, had a relatively quiet spell at Stamford Bridge after joining Chelsea in 2024. He featured in just two league games last season, with a total of 19 appearances across all competitions.

Now looking for a fresh start at Goodison Park, Dewsbury-Hall is determined to make an impact.

Chelsea have officially confirmed the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City.

The 25-year-old midfielder has signed a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea paying Leicester City a fee of £30 million for his services.

Dewsbury-Hall expressed his excitement about joining Chelsea, stating on the club’s website, “It is amazing to be sitting here as a Chelsea player. The midfielder played a pivotal role in Leicester’s successful 2023/24 campaign, helping them secure promotion from the Championship. He contributed 12 goals and 14 assists from central midfield and reunites with head coach Enzo Maresca, who also recently moved from Leicester to Chelsea.

Earlier in the summer, there were rumors of Dewsbury-Hall potentially moving to Brighton & Hove Albion in a swap deal involving Jakub Moder, but this deal fell through, allowing Chelsea to make their move.

Dewsbury-Hall becomes Chelsea’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window. The club has already secured centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham, forward Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa for £19 million, and striker Marc Guiu from Barcelona for £5 million.

Chelsea have secured a deal to sign Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, beating out competition from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Dewsbury-Hall played a key role in Leicester’s Championship-winning campaign last season under manager Enzo Maresca, who moved to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Despite reports suggesting otherwise, Chelsea’s move for Dewsbury-Hall was not solely influenced by Maresca, although he did approve the transfer.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea will pay around £30 million for Dewsbury-Hall, who has agreed to a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2030.

Dewsbury-Hall opted against joining Brighton & Hove Albion once Chelsea’s interest became apparent and is set to undergo a medical on Sunday.

Negotiations between Chelsea and Leicester also included discussions about sending at least one player to King Power Stadium in a separate deal.

Potential candidates mentioned for a move to Leicester included David Datro Fofana, Cesare Casadei, and Armando Broja. However, The Telegraph reports that Leicester is particularly interested in 18-year-old midfielder Michael Golding, who has impressed at youth level for Chelsea and made his first-team debut in the FA Cup third-round match against Preston North End last season.

In addition to Dewsbury-Hall, Chelsea have also agreed to sign Barcelona striker Marc Guiu. Meanwhile, Boca Juniors center-back Aaron Anselmino is close to finalizing a deal that would see him remain with the Argentine club for at least six more months, until the end of Boca’s domestic campaign.
