Nigerian alternative music star Akitoye Balogun, better known as Ajebutter22, has revealed the tracklist and album art cover of his forthcoming album.

Ajebutter22 has announced via his social media pages that his third studio album, titled “Soundtrack To The Good Life,” will be released on Friday, January 20, 2023.

This will be the artist’s third album overall, following the releases of “Anytime Soon” in 2014 and “What Happens in Lagos” in 2017.

On Tuesday, 18th November 2023 Ajebutter22 released the tracklist and cover art of his forthcoming third project ‘Soundtrack To The Good Life‘.

Ajebo Hustlers, Koromone, Ladipoe, Toby Shang, and Oxlade are among the alternative and afrobeats musicians slated to appear on the album.

The talented Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter, Olukayode Odesanya, popularly known as Kida Kudz, has opened up about battling depression and is seeking therapy.

The muscular rapper, who is also a father of two, recently took to Twitter to express how he had been dealing with depression for two years and was sick of it.

The winner of the peak milk talent hunt also requested assistance, urging therapists to contact him.

Blaqbonez is one of the most fascinating characters working in Afropop today and here he invokes continental impulse on the “Sex Over Love Deluxe”

Around the time of his 2018 project, ‘Bad Boy Blaq’, he leaned into a promotions strategy that was as aggressive as it was imaginative, merging the wide reach of social media with an identifiable brand of self-aggrandizing humor which he has sustained since then.

The Amaarae and Buju-assisted cut made a run in the top ten of the TurnTable Top 50 charts and also climbed its way to the top spot of the local Apple Music charts in Nigeria.

It also set the tone for Blaq’s official debut album, ‘Sex > Love’, a musically colorful affair where he exalted hedonism over heartfelt romance.

The rapper/singer is currently working on its follow-up for 2022, tentatively titled ‘Young Preacher’. 

However, ahead of this, he’s shared the deluxe edition of ‘Sex > Love’, which includes five new songs.

The other original addition, “Medicine,” reunites Blaqbonez with Oxlade, his collaborator on breakout hit “Mamiwota.”

The DJ Coublon-produced song is an explicitly carnal song over a Dembow-inflected groove, as Blaqbonez vividly details the ins and outs of his sexual prowess.

Oxlade follows suit, but in his trademark fashion, adds a romantic touch to his contributions.

“Okwaraji,” a lustrous highlight produced by the recently late Beats By Jayy, receives an update via a new verse by Bella Shmurda, who plays into the song’s original theme by vaguely detailing his life of excess.

For the other two remixes, Blaqbonez reaches back into his catalog, reviving 2019 hits from his EP, ‘Mr. Boombastic’.

The lead single “Shut Up” gets the pan-African remix treatment with guest features from Ghanaian rap artist Kwesi Arthur, Ghanaian pop star Kuami Eugene, and South African R&B singer Tellaman.

The Alpha Ojini-produced track finds Blaqbonez taunting his detractors over a soulful boom-bap beat.

The deluxe additions are rounded out by a remix of ‘Mr. Boombastic’ intro, “Run My Race,” with features from Kida Kudz and Prettyboy D-O.

The trio tag team across the breezy and thumping beat produced by CKay, creating a full-circle moment, considering both guests were influential to the EP—D-O famously called out Blaqbonez shortly after the EP release.

With its approach of mixing the old and the new, ‘Sex > Love (Deluxe)’ ensures a form of continuity in Blaqbonez’s catalog, something he’s been keen on since entering the mainstream view with ‘Bad Boy Blaq’ and its ensuing “Re-Up.”

As much as it falls firmly into the modish practice of repackaging projects, the attached caveat is that Blaqbonez is unabashedly emphasizing his status as one of the most vibrant and acclaimed hybrid Afropop/Rap artists on the continent.

Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and recording artist, Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has revealed the tracklist for the deluxe edition of his ‘Sex over Love’ album.

The lyricist, who recently bought himself a new car, already said that the deluxe version of his last album “Sex over Love” will be released, and now he’s disclosed the tracks that will be added to the original album, as well as the features.

Recall, Mp3bullet.ng reported that The ‘Sex Over Love’ album was initially released in April 2021 and had guests like Tiwa Savage, Nasty C, Joeboy, Amaarae, Buju, Cheque, PsychoYP, 1da Banton, Laycon, and Bad Boy Timz.

With the incoming deluxe version, five more tracks have been added to the project to make it 19 songs altogether.

On the back of the record, Banks returns with a surprise sequel to his 2020 EP, Off The Record (OTR) EP Vol. 2. 

Since Reekado Banks released the unlikeliest African smash hit in ‘Rora,’ and aided Skiibii’s mainstream resurgence, mainstream acceptance has been slightly uncertain for the former MAVIN artist.

Regardless, the Banks Music boss never stopped releasing some incredible records.

From a large pile, ‘Options’ featuring Parker Ighile and ‘Need More’ featuring Kida Kudz are just two incredible records, which curiously eluded mainstream attention. Soon after, the singer went down an uncertain path: first, he got unfairly demeaned by Burna Boy, in a public Twitter moment.

Despite Wizkid’s public rebuke – also a sad moment of public twerk for endorsement on the part of the Grammy winner, as he postponed his Made In Lagos release in the wake of #EndSARS – he released ‘Omo Olomo,’ a subpar and slightly aged track.

He then released Off The Record EP, a quite shabby, forgettable, and unimpressive outing.

Like clockwork, Reekado was back with quality collaborations like ‘You Dey Mad’ with Attifaya, ‘My Chargie’ alongside Teejay & Lord Afrixana, and ‘Raise Your Hand’ featuring Nomcebo Zikode and Pheelz. 

He then crowned it with the buzzing single, ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe,’ a commemorative commentary around the Lekki tollgate massacre and life on Lagos Island.

Like Banks has always done, he found a pocket on verse two of ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’ to elevate his record.

He sings that “When if you think say you be giant, you be giant for your pocket…” and sealed the song’s fate.

While the record is obviously a nod to Nigeria’s flailing and questionable status as the cliche ‘Giant of Africa,’ some people have argued that it could be a belated reply to Burna Boy.

From the opening record, the stellar R&B number ‘Pulling Up,’ it was clear that Banks had returned with an instant improvement on the lackluster ‘Off The Record.’

While ‘OTR Vol. 2’ has commercial viability, it feels like Banks was in a much better mental place, while recording its songs.

It feels like he was simply speaking his mind on each record, not chasing hits.

His songwriting is more centered around resonant, properly articulated topics around love, appreciation, socio-politics, and even confusion.

Significantly, he also picked significantly improved beats. ‘Pulling Up’ is as stellar an R&B record as Nigeria has heard in 2021 and ‘Lupita Nyong’o’ has all the markings of yet another hit record, after ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe.’

Ozzy B’s incoming album titled “Subaru Boys” is expected to drop on the 22nd of October 2021.

He released a few mixtapes under the Ozzy B moniker, including Suzie’s Funeral in 2016, before switching to the Santi moniker for Mandy & the Jungle album in 2019, which he featured DRAM, Tay Iwar, Shane Eagle, Kida Kudz, and GoldLink, among others.

In June of 2020, he debuted as Cruel Santino with the track “End of the Wicked,” after signing to Interscope and launching his Monster Boy brand.

Recall, Mp3bullet.ng reported that singer teased that the upcoming album will feature Ghanaian-American singer Amaarae, Jamaican superstar Koffee, and Nigerian rapper Maison2500 in a previous post.

Santi mentioned in a recent Instagram post about the new album that his goal was to create a “universe” so intense that if the listener stopped listening to the record, they would immediately feel as if they were no longer in the “Subaru world.”
