Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, known professionally as Blaqbonez, has set his fans’ minds in a high mood as he releases the tracklist for his forthcoming album.

Even more exciting times are ahead for Nigerian music, Blaqbonez is set to join the party by releasing the tracklist for his upcoming album.

Fans are waiting with bated breath for the rapper’s fourth studio album, Behold The Lamb, to be released in the first week of July.

On the 28th of June, the rapper, who had been teasing the release of his album via his social media page, announced the release date, album title, and tracklist via the same app, saying:

“BEHOLD THE LAMB” Album out on Boomplay – 4th July all other Platforms – 6th July.”

Blaqbonez’s “Behold The Lamb”, a ten-track album featuring Oxlade, Sauti Sol, PsychoYP, Khaligraph Jones, Kojo Cue, and Chike, will be released on all platforms on July 6th.

Every era has its icon, just as there was Moses during the exodus, there is Phy in Kenyan music.

I agree, there has been music evolution music for decades a little taste and style that has changed according to market preference. But good music is still good music and it pains me when it is often ignored and not appreciated as it should be.

Underrated seems kind to what these Kenyan artists are going through. In the Kenyan entertainment industry, it’s no different. In times like this, I always question if it’s the management or the fans that are failing the artist. Either way, this Phy deserves so much than what we are delivering as a country.

Know Mwihaki Ng’etich famous as Phy

Famous in African attire look, you might have spotted this modern queen who loves her heritage dressed in African wear (Kitenge, turbans, and cultural jewelry’s in most of her covers.

Music is a very competitive industry everyone’s constantly looking for something different, a unique feature you can’t find in anyone else apart from your singing talent. Phy already has hers.

Phy started getting people’s attention when she was the second winner in airtel trace and become even more famous when she won Maisha superstar.

Nameless always claimed that only nameless can sing, nameless that was until Phy nailed his song “Nasinzia” and he couldn’t be more wrong.

Her music journey

Unlike other toddlers who were eating sand and snot by then, Phy became aware of her singing talent when she was as young as three years old.

Her teacher Mr. Frank heard her sing and told her that she has a great voice. We need more teachers like him. If it was in the US she would have been exposed to singing shows like ‘Americas got talent‘ or ‘The voice’ but this is Africa, you have to work extra hard here.

She later started learning to play the guitar and finally, Sauti music academy and youtube academy saw her talent.

As Kenyans, I think I speak for everyone when I say we miss the flavor of good R&B music like the likes of Marry J Blidge, Brandy, and Kelly Rowland. Phy quenched our thirst five years ago with her song “Taboo (taabu)”.

If you love good music this is your jam. It has countless covers (that’s when you know you are good).

According to her, she had an unexpected reaction to the song as she had just written it as an assignment in music class. A great composer we have to hear Kenyans.

Her singing is a combination of afro-pop with R&B and HIP HOP; this made her release an extended playlist called philosophy and later released an album called biography in 2018.

She had also attained fame by being in a music film called mission on earth by Nyando and this propelled her to be among the speakers of the UN, We are proud of you Phy.

Then what’s wrong?

With that exceptional talent of hers, we expected Phy to be on levels where she received lots of international awards or doing collaborations with lots of other famous artists because most of her songs deserve it.

The song “Ruka“ where she featured king kaka and Khaligraph Jones gives everything. The singing skill, playing the guitar, and composing are totally underrated music management or is it the fan base failing her.

There is something broken in the entertainment industry that we urgently need to fix.
I know someday things will turn around and this beautiful talented lady will get the credit she deserves.

However not all times and sometimes it reaches a point that these celebrities can’t stand each other. In this context, we will be looking into Kenyan musicians who can’t stand each other.

That’s when you know it’s serious. The fandoms don’t make things better and keep adding fuel to the already burning fire.

The following are some of the Kenyan artists that cannot stand each other and why.

1. Bahati Vs Willy Paul.

This feud started long when they were both gospel artists. Kelvin Mbuvi Kioko (Bahati) and Wilson Abubakar Radido (Willy Paul) found themselves in conflicts they couldn’t get out from.

The reasons are the same each of them claiming they are better artists than the other. Bahati complained a couple of times that Willy Paul has stolen a lot of his songs accusations that Willy Paul aggressively denied.

They both moved to secular music right now and now competitions are bigger than those two. They have been spotted on various occasions but it looks like the feud is gone. Or is it?

2. Jaguar vs Ringtone Apoko

Charles Njagua Kanyi also known as Jaguar became famous after his hit song KIGEUGEU became everyone’s favorite song back in 2011.

If we are being clear this song made him rich to the point he bought his own helicopter. In the year 2017, he got into politics and became a member of parliament representing Starehe in Nairobi.

I want whatever prayer this guy says before going to bed. He got into conflict with the gospel artist Alex Apoko, who fasted for three days just as most believers do.

The problem arose when Jaguar mocked that Apoko that he fasted so he could get a range rover car like Jaguar after He was blocked by Jaguar on the road.

Very unnecessary! Ringtone has had fights with various other people so he tells you much about the guy. It has been six years since the incident and I hope they’ve moved on.

3. Khaligraph Jones vs Octopizzo

You can’t list names of Kenyan greatest artists without naming Khaligraph jones, the lyrics and wordplay are fire.

He’s a very proud man who is self-aware of the impact of his music and if you listen to his song you might as well agree with him. It all began when Khaligraph Jones pointed a middle finger at Henry Obanga (Octopizzo) who has won various awards in Kenya as a sign of insulting him.

Octopizzo gave a comeback claiming that none of his songs would have trended if he hadn’t used his name (Octopizzo) in his songs. The feud seems to be dividing the fans as they are both very talented artists.

4. Njeri vs Femi one

Rapper Femi one who made our pandemic less boring by releasing an epic song “Utawezana” got into conflict with another female rapper Patricia Njeri.

They both disclosed to the public that they hated each other. No beating around the bush. This dispute began when the artist Juliani asked who was the king on his song Lord forgive me dragging everyone.

From then lady Njeri dropped a song “No king” when she practically dragged all artists who call themselves king and in it Femi got a special treatment of drag saying that her song Brikicho was overrated. Femi also released the song “Pilau Njeri” and it was like adding petrol to a burning bush.

5. Otile brown vs Vera Sidika

There is a very thin line between love and hate, this saying was meant for these cute love birds. They spoiled each other with all kinds of romance and made sure we all saw.

There have been little conflicts where they both deleted all photos on social media. I lost count of the number of times they broke up and got back together.

One of those breakups was the final one. It was one of that dirty and embarrassing breaks up where they both exposed each other Vera claiming that Otile is poor in bed and the likes.

Vera released a song ‘Nalia’ of which most of the fans perceived was dedicated to Otile. They were all toxic to each other. Vera is now married and has a child but I highly doubt if they can still be friends with Otile.

About the album

It has a good flow from the King, and he has never disappointed his fans. When he is behind the mic, we all know we got to dance as he is dropping his poems effortlessly which is different from other artists who spend most of their lyrics praising their girlfriend’s body parts, their properties, and showing their lovemaking skills but in Ali Kiba’s album, all 16 of his songs are made for people of all ages, he cared about ethics and quality of contents in his writing.

The album was released on the 7th of October 2021, without any promo or publicity stunt and in a short time it was the talk of the town, and everyone was expectant on what will happen next but his listening party was a beautiful evening event at Serena Hotel that he did with few of his musicians’ friends including Patoranking from Nigeria.

Only One King has 16 songs. 10 of which he has featured artists from Tanzania and out of Tanzania like Sarkodie from Ghana, Patoranking, Mayorkun and Rudeboy from Nigeria, Khaligraph Jones, Nyanshiski and Sauti Sol from Kenya.

From Tanzania, he collaborated with Tommy Flavor and Kings Music. If you look at the names featured, you will be able to guess the quality of the songs that are in this album.

Speaking of Patoranking, in ‘Bwana Mdogo‘, he has left a conversation in Tanzania, where others say he has murdered the song more than Ali Kiba and others say they both bought quality to the song.

Rudeboy, a guy with songs like ‘Chizoba‘ and ‘Reason with Me’, understood the assignment in Salute and their video was the talk of the town as they wore military attire.

Sarkodie, a rapper who has no mercy on beats, delivered his verses on ‘Happy‘.

Nyanshiski from 254, is one of those artists who has no problem with single ng better than the owner of the song when he is featured, and that’s what he did in the song.

This time Ali Kiba decided to enter the studio himself, and one of his songs ‘Utu’ has been making waves and it is even trending on TikTok and it has even been a song that lovers dedicate to each other.

Other songs in the album are Gime Dat, Oya Oya, Amour, Sitaki tena, and Infidele.

The producer, Yogo Beats got so much promo out of this album because most of the songs in the album were produced by him.
