Even though AKA stirred up a lot of controversy in the South African hip-hop industry, his fans loved his music and valued what he gave to the industry.

Sizwe Dhlomo, a radio host and veteran of South African hip-hop, also reminisced about the interaction he had with Kiernan Forbes on Twitter.

The professional entertainer recalled the interaction he had with AKA when the late rapper appeared as the show’s first guest on Kaya Drive.

AKA discussed the contentious interactions he had with fans and other musicians like Burna Boy in the interview. The rapper said that xenophobia in South Africa caused a misunderstanding between him and Burna Boy.

“For me, I think it’s really a miscommunication, a miscommunication came about with the whole xenophobic episode that was happening in our country. You know I would never ever been one to mince my words when it comes to patriotism in South Africa,” he said.
