The family confirmed her untimely demise on Monday, July 24, 2023, and has requested privacy during this difficult time. The beloved 27-year-old artist gained fame with her hit track “Umshove,” featuring Kabza De Small and Leehleza.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 26, in Maboneng, Johannesburg, to pay tribute to the talented DJ. According to the family spokesperson’s statement to ZiMoja, DJ Mbali tragically succumbed to an allergy that led to complications and respiratory distress. Despite efforts to save her, she sadly passed away after being rushed to the hospital.

The music community mourns the loss of this young and promising artist, whose contribution to the Amapiano genre will be remembered forever. Details about her memorial service and funeral arrangements will be released shortly. May her soul rest in peace.

Nigerian singer, songwriter and performing artist Lekan Osifeso Jnr. popularly known as Lojay, has announced that he will be going on a world tour with his latest project  “Gangster Romantic.”

The South African kings of amapiano, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small helped the 26-year-old singer recently released “Gangster Romantic,” a 7-track extended play that also served as Lojay’s sophomore EP and a follow-up to the critically acclaimed “LV N ATTN.” The new project is currently being toured around the world for fans to experience live.

The artist has announced that he will be performing from May 2023 to October 2023 across five continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and Australia, however the dates for the tour have not yet been revealed.

Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna Boy once again demonstrated his status as a “African Giant” as he was named the Best Act in Africa at the ceremony.

The ‘Last Last’ crooner also won the Best Album of Year award, beating the likes of South African Kabza De Small, Didi B from d’Ivoire among others to clinch the award. The Song of the Year Award, however, was won by Didi B of Ivory Coast.

Another Nigerian singer that won awards on the night was Wizkid who walked away with Best Act in West Africa award.

Davido bagged the (Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music) for his hit song, ‘Stand Strong’.

While Adekunle Gold won two awards: Best Act Group in African contemporary music and Best Act, Duo or Group in African Pop, featuring Davido.

The awards night, which was held at the 15,000-capacity Dakar Arena in Diamniadio, Senegal finalised the four-day event to celebrate African music superstars.

Ghana’s Black Sherif and Nigeria’s P-Square were among the artists that thrilled the crowd during the event.

Burna Boy took to social media yesterday, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, to comment on his double win at the 25th edition of the MOBO Awards.

The singer had won both of the two awards nominations that the organisers had given him. Burna was nominated in the Best African Music Act category alongside Asake, Tems, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy DML, Kabza De Small, Oxlade, Pheelz, Omah Lay, and Rema.

He was also nominated for a Music award in the Best International Act category along with Beyonce, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, Jack Harlow, Jazmine Sullivan, Skillibeng, Summer Walker, and Tems. He also won the award.

This brings the star’s MOBO award wins to a total of three following his 2021 win as the Best International Act.

Responding to the news of his wins, the singer thanked the organizers of the award, indicating that he could not attend the event because of his concert in Zurich.

He wrote:
