Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Gareth Brooks, and Amanda Gorman are four celebrities who performed at the 46th US presidential inauguration ceremony of President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Lady Gaga took the stage first, performing the national anthem.

However, she had earlier announced on her Twitter page that she will be performing for the transition of power.

She revealed that her intention is to acknowledge their past, heal for their present, and passionate about their future.

“Singing our National Anthem for the American People is my honor. I will sing during a ceremony, a transition, a moment of change—between POTUS 45 and 46. For me, this has great meaning.

“My intention is to acknowledge our past, be healing for our present, and passionate for a future where we work together lovingly. I will sing to the hearts of all people who live on this land. Respectfully and kindly, Lady Gaga. “

While Gaga sang the national anthem, Jennifer Lopez performed a medley of patriotic songs that included “This Land Is Your Land.”

Prior to this, the singer had announced on her Twitter page that she will be performing at the inauguration.

She posted a short video of herself taking a selfie with some American soldiers with the caption;

“What an honor to spend a few moments with these brave men and women. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. I honor you today and every day. Tomorrow I sing for you and all American.”

Garth Brooks on the other hand did not make any announcement prior to his performance.

However, he composed a message of appreciation after the inauguration.

His Tweet;

“I want to thank Colonel Fettig of the @marineband I also want to tell Matt, the trumpet player, thank you for letting me stand beside you today. Our father, a Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War, would want to tell you both “Semper Fi!”

His Performance:

Amanda Gorman making the fourth on the list is a young American poet.

She has become the youngest poet ever to perform at a presidential inauguration, calling for “unity and togetherness”.

The 22-year-old delivered her work The Hill We Climb to both the dignitaries present in Washington DC and a watching global audience.

Joe Biden is the 46th democratically elected President of the United States of America. He was sworn in on the 20th of January 2021.

‘Destiny‘ by Nigerian Superstar, Burna Boy has been featured on the US presidential inauguration playlist which will usher into office President-elect, Joe Biden, and Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris.

“Destiny” comes off Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated album African Giant which dropped in 2019. The Afrobeats star is one artist who’s certainly vocal on political issues. He released a single in October of last year denouncing the Nigerian government’s violent mishandling of the #EndSARS protests against police brutality.

According to The Insider, the Presidential Inaugural Committee selected tracks that are empowering and celebrate diversity. The playlist ranges across genres over the decades and has included the likes of Beyonce, SZA, Dua Lipa, Bob Marley, and The Wailers, Stevie Wonder, and more.

Biden and Harris will reportedly each have different walk-on songs with Biden walking to Bruce Springsteen‘s “We Take Care of Our Own” while Harris walks to Mary J. Blige‘s “Work That”.

The Nigerian heavyweight blasted into the year with a performance of “Way Too Big” on popular US talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers. “Way Too Big” comes off of Burna Boy’s latest album Twice As Tall which received a 2021 Grammy nomination under the new “Best Global Music Album” category.
