The deal includes an initial payment of £26.2 million (€30m), while performance-related add-ons could add another £17.5 million (€20m) to the final fee. The Saudi Pro League giants beat Benfica, Felix’s former club, to secure the 25-year-old’s signature.

Al Nassr, who are going all out in their bid to dominate the domestic league, recently extended Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract and appointed Jorge Jesus, an experienced Portuguese tactician, as head coach. Felix’s addition further strengthens their ambition.

Chelsea, who signed Felix permanently from Atletico Madrid last summer for £45 million, have now recouped most of that investment. The player also spent six months on loan at AC Milan earlier this year in a £5 million deal.

Following their Club World Cup triumph this month, the Blues have ramped up their summer clear-out. They have already offloaded goalkeepers Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga, along with winger Noni Madueke, raising about £130 million in total sales so far.

The West London club is not done yet, as Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga, and Armando Broja are all reportedly up for sale.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have already spent £212 million in the current window on signings including striker Liam Delap, winger Jamie Gittens, and forward Joao Pedro. The Blues also remain interested in Dutch midfielder Xavi Simons and young defender Jorrel Hato as part of their ongoing squad rebuild.

Portuguese playmaker Joao Felix has opened up about his Chelsea future amid a promising start to his loan spell at AC Milan.

Despite netting seven goals in 20 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea this season, Félix was limited to just three Premier League starts, leaving him frustrated over his lack of consistent playing time. His dissatisfaction paved the way for a January move to Milan, who secured him on a season-long loan for a reported £5 million.

The 25-year-old has wasted no time making his mark in Serie A, scoring on his debut in Milan’s 3-1 win over Roma. His early performances suggest a renewed sense of enjoyment in his football, and his recent comments hint at the possibility of making Italy his long-term home.

“For now, I’m on loan until June, we’ll see how it goes,” Félix told reporters. “I’m loving everything—the club, the people, the infrastructure. My family and I have been warmly welcomed, and I want to be somewhere I feel good. Football is unpredictable, but if the opportunity arises to stay, I’d like that.”

Félix also paid tribute to his football idol, Brazilian legend Kaká, a revered figure in Milan’s history with a Serie A title, Champions League triumph, and Ballon d’Or to his name.

“My favorite player has always been Kaká. I’ve spoken about him before and even met him in the U.S. during an interview,” he shared. “He’s my idol, but I wouldn’t compare myself to him. However, I’d love to leave my mark at AC Milan too.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca appears unfazed by Félix’s departure, even as his side struggles for goals. Their FA Cup elimination at the hands of Brighton—where their only goal came from an own goal—highlighted their attacking woes, especially considering Brighton had conceded seven against Nottingham Forest just a week prior.

“I don’t think we miss João,” Maresca remarked. “He’s happy at AC Milan, and we’re happy that he’s happy there.”

As Milan gears up for a crucial Champions League round of 16 clash against Feyenoord on Wednesday, Félix will look to continue his strong form.

Should his performances remain consistent, talks of a permanent move to the Rossoneri could intensify ahead of the summer transfer window.

Joao Felix is set to leave Chelsea and join AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, with the deal expected to be finalized on the final day of the winter transfer window.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea and Milan have reached an agreement that will see the Portuguese forward join the Rossoneri until the end of the campaign. While some final details are still being worked out, the move appears imminent, as Félix has been pushing for a switch to the Serie A giants.

The 25-year-old joined Chelsea on loan from Atlético Madrid last summer but has struggled for regular game time, starting just three of the 12 Premier League matches he has featured this season.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Milan will pay around €2 million (£1.6m) for the loan, a figure lower than Chelsea’s initial €4 million (£3.3m) asking price after agent Jorge Mendes negotiated a reduction.

João Félix is expected to travel to Italy soon to finalize the move before the transfer window closes, meaning he will miss Chelsea’s Monday night clash with West Ham.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of João Félix from Atlético Madrid, with the Portuguese forward committing to a seven-year contract.

The 24-year-old, who previously had a loan spell at Chelsea during the second half of the 2022/23 season, returns to Stamford Bridge after scoring four goals in 20 appearances in all competitions during his initial stint. He spent the subsequent season on loan at Barcelona, where he netted 10 goals.

The transfer fee for Félix is reported to be approximately £44.5 million, with Atlético Madrid securing a sell-on clause as part of the deal. This signing is one of several high-profile arrivals at Chelsea this summer, alongside players like Omari Kellyman, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Viega, Caleb Wiley, and Pedro Neto.

In his statement on Chelsea’s official website, Félix expressed his excitement about returning to the club and the Premier League, noting the familiar faces from his previous time with the Blues. He emphasized his fondness for the club and his eagerness to contribute to their success.

Félix initially joined Atlético Madrid in 2019 for a record-breaking €126 million (£113 million) fee, making him the fourth-highest transfer in football history at the time.

However, his time in Spain was marked by inconsistency, scoring only 34 goals in 131 appearances and facing challenges under former manager Diego Simeone. His move to Chelsea marks a fresh start, offering him another opportunity to prove his worth in the Premier League.

Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, now has another creative option in the final third, with Félix expected to compete for a spot alongside the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Cole Palmer, and Enzo Fernández, who featured prominently in Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Manchester City.

The deal also continues the busy transfer activity between Chelsea and Atlético Madrid, following Conor Gallagher’s confirmed move to the Spanish side.

Joao Felix reveals why he celebrated scoring against Atletico Madrid

The Portuguese forward, who joined Barcelona on loan from Atletico late in the summer window, scored the decisive goal in Sunday’s game against his primary employers and openly celebrated the victory.

Explaining his celebrations, Felix stated that he was overcome with emotion due to the challenges he faced during the summer transfer window. His admission sheds light on the personal and emotional aspects that players experience amid transfer negotiations and moves between clubs.

“It was a spontaneous celebration,” he told Movistar. “In the end, you get into the heat of the game.

“It was like a relief for everything that I experienced last summer. Only the people close to me know how it was. This has been a relief for them. That is for me and for my teammates at Barca who have welcomed me.”

The head coach of Barcelona, Xavi, said that he had advised Felix to maintain composure before the match and expressed his satisfaction with the 24-year-old’s handling of the situation.

“Joao Felix made the difference once again,” the boss said. “He understands each other well with [Joao] Cancelo in that side. I’m happy to see him well.

“You have to ask Joao Felix about his celebration. It’s what he has inside of him. That’s where the reaction comes from. Joao was eager to show his football, and that’s how he reacts. It’s human nature.

“I told Joao Felix to stay calm. He had to use the circumstances as an extra motivation for this game. He played very well.”

Finally, when pressed on pursuing a permanent deal to sign Felix next summer, Xavi added: “Signing Joao Felix permanently depends on the club’s sporting area. Personally, I am very happy with him. He’s a great kid for the dressing room, does not create problems, loves to have fun, and I’m happy to have him in my team.”

Joao Felix, who joined Barcelona on transfer deadline day, has expressed his happiness with his early experiences there.

In the last minutes of the summer transfer window, Barcelona signed the Portugal international on loan from Atletico Madrid, fulfilling the player’s self-described “dream” move to the Catalan club.

Since joining the team, Felix has established himself as a regular starter alongside Xavi Hernandez, making eight games, seven of which he started, and contributing to five goals.

Felix, who was representing Portugal on an international level, expressed his happiness in Barcelona and said he had now been able to “maintain a good level” in his speech.

“As you can see, I’m happy where I am, I feel good, confident and I feel like I’m going through a good moment. The most difficult thing is to maintain a good level, something that I have not achieved for some time in recent seasons,” he said.

“But I work every day and I always try to improve to correct those less positive aspects of myself. And yes, I am happy and going through a good time.”

Prior to joining Barcelona, Felix struggled throughout his time at Atletico Madrid. The club’s record-breaking £113 million transfer failed to make an impact at the Estadio Civitas Metropolitano. He did not reach double digits in La Liga in any of his four seasons with Atleti; his best season came in 2021–2022, when he scored a pitiful eight goals.

The 23-year-old also talked about the contrasts between playing for Barca and Atleti in a recent interview, revealing that he thinks the former’s playing style better fits his strengths.

“As I have said several times, the difference between Barcelona and Atletico can be seen in everything, in the team, the club. We can see the way Barcelona play compared to Atletico. It is not bad, but I have adapted better to the way that Barcelona plays. Now I’m happy and it’s the most important thing,” he said.

“Barcelona is a big club, everyone knows their way of playing. I’ve adapted very well, but the most difficult thing is to keep this level up.”

Joao Felix has highlighted the style of play as the key difference between Barcelona and his former club, Atletico Madrid.

The talented forward made a loan move to Barcelona from Atletico on deadline day during the summer transfer window, ending a challenging period at the Estadio Civitas Metropolitano.

Atletico had paid a club record £113 million to acquire Felix from Benfica in 2019, but the Portugal international struggled to make a significant impact during his time with the club, failing to reach double figures in goals in any of his four seasons in Madrid.

Since joining Barcelona, Felix has displayed signs of improved form, scoring three goals in his first six appearances in all competitions, including two in a UEFA Champions League match against Royal Antwerp.

During a press conference ahead of Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League game against Porto, Felix was asked about the differences between his new club and Atletico.

He stated, “As I have said several times, the difference between Barcelona and Atletico can be seen in everything, in the team, the club. We can see the way Barcelona play compared to Atletico. It is not bad, but I have adapted better to the way that Barcelona plays. Now I’m happy, and that’s the most important thing.”

Felix went on to praise Barcelona as a big club known for their style of play, saying he has adapted well to their approach. He also acknowledged the challenge of maintaining a high level of performance.

Previously, Felix had mentioned that he found everything “easier” at Barcelona compared to his time at Atletico Madrid under the management of Diego Simeone, emphasizing the positive environment and talented teammates at his new club.

Felix joined Barcelona on a deadline day loan from Atletico Madrid and made his debut in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Osasuna, joining an overcrowded forward line pressing for Robert Lewandowski’s late winner.

With Felix expected to start games soon enough, Xavi admitted he could use the 24-year-old anywhere across his attack.

Barcelona needed a penalty from Lewandowski in the 85th minute to defeat Osasuna and, while Xavi was happy with the outcome, he acknowledged the play could have been better.

Joao Felix, a forward, has been officially signed by Barcelona on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid.

Joao Felix has always expressed a desire to sign with Barca; in a July interview, the Portuguese international even stated, “Barcelona has always been my first choice and I would love to join them.”

After a protracted wooing, Barcelona has now announced that they have signed Felix from Atletico Madrid.

A statement from Barcelona reads: “FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Joao Felix until 30 June 2024. There is no option for a permanent transfer.

“The Club wishes to thank the player publicly for the financial effort made and his desire to wear the Barca shirt.”

Felix was on loan at Chelsea for the second part of the previous season, but the Blues decided not to exercise their option to sign him permanently after he scored just four goals in the Premier League.

Prior to FFP restrictions getting in the way of the agreement, reports in Spain claimed that Barcelona and Felix had already agreed to a deal for Felix’s signing in January 2022 for an initial £60 million plus an additional £55 million in add-ons.

It is now unknown whether Barcelona will be able to register Felix’s contract with the team. Due to Barca’s terrible financial position, players like Marcos Alonso and Inaki Pena are now not registered to play in La Liga.

Following his loan spell at Chelsea, Joao Felix has been stripped of the No.7 shirt at Atletico Madrid, with Antoine Griezmann reclaiming the jersey. The Portuguese forward joined Atleti in 2019 for a significant fee of €126 million. However, he has struggled to make a substantial impact in the Spanish capital. As a result, he was loaned out to Chelsea for the second half of the 2022-23 season, where he scored four goals in 20 appearances.

The future of Felix at Atletico Madrid remains uncertain, and if he decides to stay at the Wanda Metropolitano, he will have to choose a new squad number since his No.7 shirt has been given to World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann. Griezmann previously wore the No.7 during his first stint at Atletico before moving to Barcelona and subsequently returning to his former club in October 2022 on a permanent basis.

It is unlikely that Chelsea will pursue a permanent move for Felix, as they have already secured the signings of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson during the summer transfer window. Felix himself commented on his plans shortly before the conclusion of the 2022-23 Premier League season, though his exact intentions were not mentioned in the provided information: “I don’t know yet my future. It’s a top club. Everyone in the club was very good to me, my team-mates [have been] unbelievable. And I really like to be here.”

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has stated that Chelsea does not intend to pursue a long-term contract for striker Joao Felix on loan.

Felix signed a costly six-month loan agreement with Chelsea in January that did not contain a buyout clause, but club officials had been in talks with Atletico to work out the price of a permanent move.

But now that Mauricio Pochettino is in charge instead of Graham Potter, the situation has altered, and the Argentine has taken the ultimate decision on Felix’s future.

“The truth is that I can’t tell you the plan with Joao,” Cerezo said. “It’s the news we had yesterday, that the new coach doesn’t count on him for Chelsea.

“We don’t have anything planned yet, Joao is an Atletico player now.”

Felix had publicly expressed a wish to stay at Stamford Bridge through this summer, but he now seems destined to head back to Atletico, capping out his time in England with four goals in 20 appearances for Chelsea.

The 23-year-old is still bound to Atletico until 2027 under his current contract, and Chelsea has always been wary of the expense of any prospective move. At Pochettino’s suggestion, Chelsea has now abandoned its ambitions to seek a long-term transfer.

As Pochettino’s squad expands, Chelsea has already completed the acquisition of Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig and will also welcome back Malo Gusto and Levi Colwill from their respective loan agreements.

Manuel Ugarte of Sporting CP has also been the subject of discussions, and Declan Rice of West Ham and Moises Caicedo of Brighton have both attracted interest.

Alisson Becker has explained why he and Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson got into a heated argument after the Reds’ 0-0 draw with Chelsea.

The goal of Jurgen Klopp’s team’s trip to Stamford Bridge was to improve their chances of finishing in the top four while furthering the plight of the struggling Blues.

In the end, the points were split, but only after a late altercation between two Anfield teammates, Henderson and Alisson, after a weak-headed clearance from Joel Matip gave Joao Felix a chance, which he squandered by shooting over the top after a sloppy first touch.

Alisson has told ESPN Brasil why two senior figures in the Liverpool camp got in each other’s faces, before embracing on their way off the pitch at the final whistle: “Me and Henderson, we are two people who fight, who give our lives for their team. And on the field there is no way to ask ‘please’. So sometimes it seems that the mood is high, but it’s two people trying to fix it, do things in the best way for the team and try to help.”

Stalemate in west London has kept Liverpool eighth in the Premier League table, 10 points adrift of the Champions League spots with 10 games left to take in, and Alisson added on what has been a testing 2022-23 campaign for all concerned: “Of course it’s been difficult, it’s been a great challenge. We are human beings and we feel as much as anyone else. We get frustrated when something negative happens. We rejoice when we are well.

“But football, the difference is that we can’t spend a long time lamenting because that’s the good side of football. When things are going badly, two, three days after a match that the team doesn’t play well, there’s already an opportunity that can show again. So that’s our challenge this season. Each game will show our real quality and play together as a team.”
