Nigerian singer and songwriter Lekan Osifeso Jr., popularly known as Lojay, and English football star Jesse Lingard may be an ideal duo due to a video of them dancing to the Afrobeats mega song ‘Monalisa.”

The English football star and the Nigerian singer-songwriter demonstrated chemistry while grooving to “Monalisa.”

One of the Afro-fusion songs by an African act that gained international acclaim is “Monalisa,” from Lojay’s collaborative album with legendary producer Sarz called “LV N ATTN.” The 26-year-old singer worked with American superstar Chris Brown on the song’s remix in 2022.

Lojay and Lingard can be seen dancing along to the song while the singer-songwriter performs in Bali, Indonesia, in a video that has gone viral online.

Former Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard has named Louis van Gaal as the manager who came closest to emulating Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign at Old Trafford.

Since the great Scott stepped down as manager of Manchester United in 2013, the Red Devils have struggled to capture the Premier League.

Only three significant titles have been won by the Red Devils since Ferguson’s departure: the League Cup in 2017, the Europa League in 2016, and the Europa League in 2016.

In the summer of 2022, Lingard signed a free-agent contract with Nottingham Forest and departed from Manchester United.

As his Manchester United career stalled, Jesse Lingard has acknowledged that he sometimes drank alcohol “to try to take the agony away.”

Lingard joined Nottingham Forest last summer on a free transfer, signing a one-year deal at The City Ground after ending a 22-year stay at Manchester United.

The 30-year-old had a fruitful loan at West Ham United before coming back to Manchester United in 2021, but despite being persuaded to stay, he was unable to push his way back into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s lineup.

Lingard, who scored the winning goal in the 2016 FA Cup final, admitted that he had become dependent on alcohol before bed because of the abuse he was experiencing from fans and his mother’s struggle with depression.

“I was drinking before bed, having a nightcap,” Lingard told The Diary Of A CEO podcast. “I look back now and think, ‘what was I doing that for?’ But I needed something to try and take the pain away and put me at ease somehow.“I was trying to forget what was going on. But it makes it 10 times worse.

“You’re getting that much abuse, and I’m already down enough, and I’ve got to perform. I’m already going through things you don’t know about…I felt like the world was on my shoulders.”

Speaking about his mother’s depression, Lingard continued: “The depression was so bad she couldn’t really cope any more and she needed to go away and get help.

“But leaving me with my little sister who was 11 at the time and my little brother who was 15, for me, I was still going through my own things as well.

“So I wasn’t really the big brother they wanted at the time. They always get the fun, laughy, bubbly Jesse and I was going through my own things, so I was on autopilot. I just wasn’t there mentally.”

Lingard discloses that he eventually spoke to Solskjaer about his issues after being abused after United’s FA Cup win over Derby in March 2020.

“To be abused like that tipped it. I didn’t want to be on the pitch, I didn’t want to play. I didn’t want to quit football, I never would have quit football, but I needed a break.

“I need to find some motivation, some fire in my belly to get going again because I can’t be doing this.

“We kept it close-knit but even just to have Ole say, ‘how is your mum? How is she doing?’ helped, to let people know what I was going through.”

Jesse Lingard has defended claims from Cristiano Ronaldo regarding the lack of progress that has left Manchester United “miles” behind their rivals.

The Red Devils have seen a much-needed return to form on the field in 2022–23, under the direction of Erik ten Hag, which raises the possibility of mounting a title challenge. However, severe concerns have been raised about the Premier League heavyweights off the field.

In the contentious interview that resulted in Ronaldo’s exit from Old Trafford, he admitted that “nothing changed” during his two spells at the club. Lingard has also questioned why a superpower on the scale of the world has allowed itself to stagnate.

Lingard, who left United as a free agent in 2022, has told the Diary of CEO podcast: “You know what it is, I think they’re so behind with everything. You see [Manchester] City’s facilities, you see Tottenham’s facilities when we go there with England and train at Tottenham, like people are miles ahead. Even the social side of things and that.

Lingard, who is now on the books at Nottingham Forest, added when asked about Ronaldo’s comments: “Yeah, and he left [the first time] years ago! You want the best things, especially as United is one of the biggest clubs in the world. You want the best for the best.

Of course you want the best food and you want the swimming pool and the jacuzzi and the sauna, which is still there but [it should] be a bit more modern. Modernise, because you see City’s facilities and you think, ‘Get up to date, catch up a little bit!’ because they’re way behind at the moment.”

More investment could be on the way at Old Trafford, which would allow the club to move with the times, as the Glazer family have opened themselves up to offers that may lead to a big-money takeover being completed.

Jesse Lingard has criticized his former club Manchester United, stating that club management made “false promises” and that he was never given a legitimate explanation for why he was frozen out.

The 30-year-old midfielder made 232 appearances for United after graduating from their academy, but he struggled to get playing time in his later years at Old Trafford and only made four appearances in his final year.

After being sent out on loan to West Ham for the second half of the 2020–21 campaign, Lingard made an impression, but upon his return to United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick continued to ignore him.

Ahead of his return to Old Trafford as a player for Nottingham Forest, a freshly promoted team, Lingard admits he still feels misunderstood by his treatment at United.

I don’t know why I wasn’t playing,” Lingard told The Telegraph.

“I don’t know what the problem was, whether it was politics or whatever. I still haven’t got an answer. I’d rather that someone had told me, ‘This is why you’re not playing’, out of respect for me being there so long, but I never got that.

“It was false promises. I was training hard and I was sharp, I was ready. So this is a chance to say my goodbyes because I never really got that. It will be an enjoyable occasion but we want to win the game. You can’t get caught up too much in it emotionally.”

Although Lingard’s Forest career has had a rocky beginning, he now appears to be finding his footing alongside the rest of the team as their form steadily improves.

In the summer of 2022, Forest added 22 players, completely overhauling their team and starting over in preparation for their re-entry into the top division.

While there were unavoidable growing pains, Steve Cooper’s club is sure they can compete with most teams and perhaps score enough points to make it through another season.

Jesse Lingard is still hoping to earn an England recall, with the “misunderstood” Nottingham Forest star eager to see Gareth Southgate stay on.

The playmaker, 29, who departed Manchester United as a free agent in the summer of 2022, did not make the Three Lions team that lost to France in the World Cup quarterfinal in Qatar.

Lingard feels he can force his way back into the fold despite the fact that his last of 32 caps was gained against Andorra in October 2021.

Lingard has told The Athletic: “I would definitely hope to get back in there (the England squad). All I can do is perform well at Forest and hope I can do enough to get that call-up. I am positive. The last few results you could see that I am enjoying it; that I am playing with confidence.”

Change is being mooted inside the England camp, but Lingard added when asked if Gareth Southgate remains the best manager to take the team forward: “I would definitely like to see him carry on. His man-management is great. He wants to understand you as a person; he wants to get to know your family and understand them.

Lingard faces fierce competition for midfield spots inside the England squad, but insists he will not change his ways in order to earn a recall – with a bubbly character adamant that he is fully committed to his football despite boasting a number of ventures away from the field. He added: “Am I misunderstood? Yes, sometimes. But I love training. I love football. I love games. I always want to work hard. That is how you get the best out of me, when I work hard.

There might be a tackle that lifts the crowd or just a moment that makes the crowd sit up and think, ‘He is on it today’. You need that intensity. I love winning. I could stay on the training ground all day. But the hard work side of things should be pretty normal for any professional, shouldn’t it? I can be misunderstood at times. But I will just carry on. I will do what I do and not listen to the noise.”

Lingard is currently readying himself for a return to Old Trafford, with Forest set to face Manchester United on December 27 in their first Premier League outing after the World Cup break.
