Nigerian singer Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, popularly known as Jaywon, is back with a fresh release titled “Money Is The Bicycle (Owo Ni Keke).”

And from the very first listen, it’s clear this isn’t just another track dropping for the sake of the charts—Jaywon brings depth and a storytelling vibe that make it stand out.

Jaywon Returns with Storytelling Hit “Money Is The Bicycle (Owo Ni Keke)”

The song dives straight into the realities of chasing wealth and navigating life’s ups and downs. True to Jaywon’s style, he pairs smooth delivery with thoughtful lyrics, making every line feel personal and relatable.

The title itself, Money Is The Bicycle, is already intriguing, hinting at a metaphorical journey in which money is the vehicle that carries people through life, yet also requires balance, effort, and direction.

What’s striking about the song is Jaywon’s ability to blend everyday experiences with catchy rhythms. He doesn’t just rap or sing; he paints vivid pictures of real-life situations, struggles, and small victories, all while keeping listeners nodding along to the groove.

There’s a conversational feel to his delivery, almost like he’s sitting down and sharing life lessons with you over coffee, rather than preaching or bragging.

Musically, the production complements his storytelling perfectly—light, energetic, and inviting, giving the track a warm, relatable atmosphere.

By the time you hit the chorus, the catchy hook and clever phrasing make it linger in your mind. “Money Is The Bicycle (Owo Ni Keke)” isn’t just a song you play; it’s a track you feel, reflect on, and keep hitting replay.

Jaywon proves again why he’s one of Nigeria’s most consistent voices in music, grounded, authentic, and capable of turning personal stories into universal experiences through his art.

Listen to “Money Is The Bicycle (Owo Ni Keke)” HERE

Jaywon Warns Young Artists: Streams and Money Don’t Equal Greatness

The singer shared his thoughts in an Instagram post amid the ongoing online clash between Wizkid and Seun Kuti. This controversy has once again sparked conversations around legacy, respect and long-term impact in music.

According to Jaywon, many emerging artists are making the mistake of reducing music to charts and digital statistics alone while ignoring the deeper essence of artistry.

“The problem with a lot of you youngins and small minds is thinking music is only about numbers,” he wrote. “You believe that because you’ve got streams, recognition, a strong PR machine and money to throw around, that automatically makes you the best artist in the world.”

Jaywon stressed that true greatness in music goes far beyond streams and visibility, noting that real artistry is defined by influence, substance and longevity.

“Music isn’t about numbers. It’s about impact, changing minds and touching souls,” he added.

He further pointed to global and Nigerian icons such as Bob Marley and Fela Anikulapo Kuti as timeless examples of artistes whose relevance has endured because of the powerful messages and cultural influence embedded in their music.

“That’s why legends like Bob Marley and Fela still matter,” Jaywon said. “Their music is forever.”

His comments have since sparked online conversations, with many fans agreeing that, while numbers matter in today’s industry, legacy is ultimately built on impact, not algorithms.

In a post shared on social media on January 20, 2026, Jaywon cautioned fans and commentators against downplaying Fela’s influence while celebrating the global success of modern Afrobeats stars.

Reacting to claims that Afrobeats has surpassed Afrobeat, the singer stressed that no living artist can be compared to or considered greater than Fela Kuti, whose impact transcended music and extended deeply into culture, politics, and activism.

Jaywon urged supporters of contemporary Afrobeats acts to avoid unnecessary comparisons, describing today’s stars as “children” in the grand timeline of the genre—artists who should be allowed to grow and thrive without being forced into debates against cultural legends.

According to him, Fela’s contribution to African music and global consciousness remains unmatched, and excessive online hype risks misleading younger fans into forgetting the historical roots of the sound they now celebrate.

His comments have since reignited conversations across social media, with many users agreeing that Afrobeat’s foundation must be respected, while others continue to argue that Afrobeats’ global reach represents a new era of dominance.

The exchange once again underscores a recurring tension in Nigerian music discourse—how to celebrate Afrobeats’ worldwide success while properly honouring the pioneers who laid the groundwork for its existence.

Nigerian singer and songwriter Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, popularly known as Jaywon, has reignited conversations about the country’s economic challenges by lending his support to Davido’s earlier remarks on Nigeria’s struggling economy.

Months ago, Davido sparked controversy when he described Nigeria’s economy as being in “shambles” during an interview, cautioning foreign investors against bringing their money into the country.

His blunt statement received mixed reactions, with some Nigerians criticizing him while others agreed with his assessment.

Jaywon has now taken to social media to echo Davido’s sentiments, particularly highlighting the economic difficulties in his home state, Kogi.

Expressing his frustration, the singer questioned those who had previously dismissed Davido’s statements.

“A few months ago, when Davido spoke about the state of the country in an interview, some people quickly came together to call him out as if he was lying. Abeg, where are those people today? The reality is clear: Nigerians are their own biggest problem,” Jaywon tweeted.

A few months ago, when Davido spoke about the state of the country in an interview, some people quickly came together to call him out as if he was lying.
Abeg, where are those people today?
The reality is clear: Nigerians are their own biggest problem.

He also took a swipe at social media users who, in his view, contribute to misinformation and distractions. “97% of FCs are nothing but empty heads. Cuz even things wey no concern dem. Dem go put mouth!!” he added in another tweet.

His remarks have since sparked heated debates online, with many Nigerians weighing in on the state of the economy and the role of celebrities in shaping national discourse.

While some support Jaywon’s stance, others believe artists should use their influence to push for solutions rather than just highlighting problems.

As discussions continue, it remains to be seen how the government and economic policymakers will respond to growing concerns about the country’s financial instability.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Jaywon claimed that Joel arrived at the event in good health but left with a broken leg.
Nigerian singer Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, popularly known as Jaywon, has sparked online conversations after a recent tweet about Afrobeats superstar Davido.

The ‘This Year‘ crooner took to social media to shower praises on Davido, describing him as a genuine and lovable personality. He also expressed excitement for the singer’s forthcoming album, ‘5IVE,’ set for release in April.

“I don’t argue with people about my brother @davido because you don’t truly know him. I bet if you did, you would love him even more. He’s the realest and coolest guy ever. Patiently waiting for *5IVE* like say na my own! #5IVE,” Jaywon tweeted.

While many Davido fans appreciated the message, some critics accused Jaywon of seeking favors from the ‘Unavailable‘ hitmaker.

One user claimed the singer was only hyping Davido because he knew the superstar enjoyed being praised, leading to heated reactions online.

Jaywon’s recent social media activity comes amid his ongoing rift with rapper Odumodublvck. The two artists have been at odds for some time, with tensions occasionally spilling over into public exchanges.

Despite the criticism, Jaywon remains vocal about his admiration for Davido, further fueling discussions about the dynamics of relationships within the Nigerian music industry.

Veteran Nigerian singer Jaywon has responded to rapper Odumodublvck’s recent comments, reigniting their long-standing feud. In an interview on ‘Trending‘ with Hip TV, OdumoduBlvck referred to Jaywon as a friend but stated that their relationship wouldn’t stop him from dissing him.

“Forget about the banter, Jaywon is my guy. I really love Jaywon,” OdumoduBlvck remarked. “Because you be my guy no mean say I no go diss you,” he added, highlighting his unapologetic stance.

The rapper also poked fun at Jaywon, claiming he has only one hit song—his iconic track ‘Odun Yi,’ released nearly 13 years ago—that he performs annually. OdumoduBlvck’s comments came after Jaywon released a new live rendition of *Odun Yi* in January 2025, sparking mixed reactions from fans online.

Jaywon, however, was not amused by the rapper’s remarks. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the veteran artist called out Odumodublvck, accusing him of using his name for clout.

“Odumodu will always mention my name in his interviews because that’s the only way he stays relevant. Even he admits that none of his other beefs trend because they’re not Jaywon,” Jaywon tweeted.

He added, “When I said he’s not all that, it wasn’t beef—it was just facts. Enjoy yourself, boy.”

Addressing OdumoduBlvck’s insinuation that he relies on *Odun Yi*, Jaywon clapped back: “I can’t stand the fact that Odumodu thinks I’m beefing with him. Yo, get over it and focus on your career, bro. Or is it that you just can’t handle the fact that I’ll always be relevant because of that one single you keep coming for?”

I can’t stand the fact that Odumodu thinks I’m beefing with him. Yo, get over it and focus on your career, bro. Or is it that you just can’t handle the fact that I’ll always be relevant because of that one single you keep coming for?

The history between the two artists has been rocky, involving diss tracks and social media spats. Their feud appeared to have settled at one point, but recent events suggest otherwise.

While OdumoduBlvck continues to tease Jaywon for his enduring hit, the veteran artist remains confident in his legacy, embracing the relevance of *Odun Yi* as a timeless anthem.

As fans watch the drama unfold, many are calling for both artists to channel their energy into creating more music rather than fueling their rivalry. Whether this feud will escalate further or fizzle out remains to be seen.

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck recently spoke candidly about his relationship with veteran artist Jaywon during an interview on ‘Trending‘ with Hip TV. While describing Jaywon as a friend, the rapper made it clear that their bond wouldn’t deter him from throwing jabs at the singer.

“Forget about the banter, Jaywon is my guy. I really love Jaywon,” OdumoduBlvck said. “Because you be my guy no mean say I no go diss you,” he added in pidgin, emphasizing his stance.

In typical Odumodublvck fashion, he poked fun at Jaywon for relying on his hit single ‘Odun Yi,’ released nearly 13 years ago, which continues to gain annual attention for its uplifting New Year message. “Jaywon has one hit he performs once a year,” the rapper remarked, reigniting their ongoing back-and-forth.

Earlier this month, Jaywon released a new live rendition of ‘Odun Yi,’ sparking mixed reactions online. While some hailed the evergreen appeal of the song, others criticized him for being fixated on one track.

Social media users even nicknamed him the “Nigerian Mariah Carey,” referencing Carey’s perennial holiday classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You.’

Jaywon, however, turned the comparison into a compliment. “It’s an honor to be likened to Mariah Carey, whose timeless hit enjoys annual relevance,” he said, shutting down critics with a graceful response.

The love-hate dynamic between OdumoduBlvck and Jaywon dates back to when Jaywon reportedly called the rapper “not all that.” In retaliation, OdumoduBlvck dropped a diss track titled ‘Not All That,‘ publicly calling out the veteran artist. Since then, their exchanges have fueled speculation about the state of their relationship.

Jaywon expressed his dissatisfaction with OdumoduBlvck’s most recent statements on his X (previously Twitter) account. “I don’t know why he assumes we have beef,” he tweeted, telling the rapper to concentrate on his profession. “Get over it. *Odun Yi* will always remain relevant,” he said, emphasizing his legacy.

See the tweet below:

While the banter between the two continues to draw public attention, fans hope the artists can move past their differences and possibly collaborate in the future. For now, their back-and-forth remains a hot topic in Nigeria’s music industry.

Nigerian singer Jaywon is celebrating a decade of his classic hit ‘This Year (Odun Yi)’, a song that has cemented its place as a staple of Nigeria’s festive season and New Year celebrations.

Released in 2013, the track continues to resonate with audiences, providing positive declarations and soothing melodies that accompany the transition into each new year.

In 2024, ‘This Year (Odun Yi)’ once again enjoyed significant attention during the Detty December festivities, solidifying its status as a timeless anthem.

Jaywon marked the milestone by sharing a new performance video of the song on December 31, 2024, ahead of the New Year, sparking conversations about its enduring relevance.

Social media users reacted to the post, with some comparing the song to Mariah Carey’s global holiday classic ‘All I Want For Christmas’.

In response, Jaywon embraced the comparison as a compliment, saying: “A song that’s been playing strong for 13 years and you think your hate today will stop it? Call me the African Mariah Carey if you want; it doesn’t bother me, in fact, it’s a compliment. After over a decade, we’re still here, still loved, and still supported, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful to Jehovah and my amazing fans.”

Nigerian singer Jaywon recently opened up about his strained relationship with Mavin Records star Ayra Starr, citing a viral photo that sparked mockery online.

In an interview with News Central, Jaywon shared that the picture, which shows Ayra Starr appearing to prevent him from holding her waist, became the subject of trolling.

He expressed disappointment that Ayra Starr and her management did not step in to address the issue, allowing the trolls to persist.

Reflecting on his intentions, Jaywon said he only wanted to show support for Ayra Starr as a fellow Nigerian artist making waves in the industry.

“The Ayra Starr situation is unfortunate. We are not cool. People don’t get it. What would make me, Jaywon want to take a picture with Ayra Starr?

“Of course, she’s an amazing artist who has been making us [Nigerians] proud. So, it’s just love. I only wanted to support and celebrate her for the good work she’s doing.

“People also support and celebrate me, too. So when I see a young artist doing good, I want to be part of that celebration.

“We took a picture and it went viral, you and your never said anything about it. The only thing your management did was to promote the picture back to back. Nobody is dumb.

“We know how the [music] industry works. People are saying she didn’t say anything about the picture. Of course, she didn’t say anything about the picture but she saw it trending everyday. Why would she not say something about it?

“Oh yeah, because that is how they roll. I don’t blame them. They feel like if they say something, they are going to stop the picture from trending. They enjoy it. No problem. Everybody has their time,” he said.

The viral throwback photo, which shows Ayra Starr holding Jaywon’s hand away while posing, has become a source of ridicule for him, especially in light of more recent pictures where Ayra Starr is seen being held by other prominent celebrities.

Recently, Odumodublvck shared a photo of Ayra Starr and Future on his X page, where Future is seen holding her waist. He juxtaposed this image with Jaywon’s throwback photo, lamenting the unfairness of life in his caption, saying, “THIS LIFE EHN.”

In response, Jaywon did not hold back, criticizing Odumodublvck for disrespecting his seniors despite being an emerging artist himself. He remarked, “Lol, you’re already dragging your senior; who’s going to drag you? You haven’t even started life, and you’re already stepping on toes.” Jaywon’s comments highlight the importance of respecting those who have come before you in the industry.
