Olamide’s announcement of another signee, Senth to his ever-expanding YBNL family has caused responses among Nigerian music fans.

Senth, an Afropop and Alternative Pop musician, was welcomed by the Badoo crooner to the amazing roster of celebrities that have flourished at his YBNL record.

The Rapper uploaded a brief clip of Senth’s new song, “Dagger,” along with an announcement that the singer was the newest signee on his Instagram page.

The most recent addition has received feedback from numerous social media users. They vented their displeasure towards Senth’s first single in Olamide’s comment section.

The post had been captioned with the assuring words; “Welcome to YBNL/Empire @senthmusic . Let’s fvck $hit up ⚔️”

Senth’s signing comes after Olamide announced the signing of Asake and Jayboi to the label earlier in the year making him the third signee Baddo added to his label in the year.

The Afropop and Alternative Pop singer, Senth hails from the East and grew up in the Northern part of Nigeria.

Hailing from Minna, Niger State, the latest YBNL Signee is predicted to be the next big thing coming out of the Nigerian music scene.

Senth is an all-around musical talent and vocal powerhouse. His moves in the industry were noticed by YBNL boss Olamide which made the Rapper add him to the YBNL family, Asake, Fireboy, others.

Although not much is known about the artist Senth, Mp3bullet.ng’s investigation revealed that he is a rising star who has been active in the music business for a while.

Prior to signing with YBNL, he released songs such as “Pon You” in 2019, “Tu Tu Tu” in 2021, and “Fall” in May of 2022 with other singers.

According to his Apple Music account, he will release an EP titled “Senth of Her” on December 8th under the YBNL/Empire music umbrella.

Baddo and Asake had previously collaborated on “Omo Ope” which has been topping charts and airwaves since its release at the beginning of the year and the announcement came a day after he unveiled his first signee of the year, Jayboi.

Jayboi’s signing marked the first time in five years that Baddo will be welcoming another singer into the YBNL Family after signing Fireboy DML and a few other rappers in 2018.

Not much is known of the artist, Senth but from the research Mp3bullet.ng carried out on him, he is an upcoming singer who has been in the industry for quite a while.

It seems 2022 is the year Olamide add more members to his label, YBNL as he recently announced the newest member of the record company.

Taking to his Instagram today, the 8th of February, 2022, Olamide revealed that he signed fast-rising artist, Asake to his record label.

He posted a video of Asake previewing a song in the studio and captioned it with;

“Mood ???? …… @asakemusic welcome to #YBNL”

Asake is a fast-rising artist from the Southwestern region of Nigeria. Grace found him in 2020, when one of his freestyles, Lady went viral, earning reposts from top celebrities across several online-based platforms.

Immediately the freestyle went viral, it was recorded with the production credited to Blaque Beats.

Then later in 2020, he released “Mr Money” another viral hit that topped charts and airwaves and was a popular Tik-Tok tune.

Nigerian hip hop recording artist Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, known professionally as Olamide who is also the C.E.O of YBNL has revealed that he has signed a new artist to his record label.

Seasoned rapper and label owner, Olamide took to his social media page to announce that he signed a fresh, talented artist named, Jayboi.

It’s been confirmed!! Another member of the YBNL family has joined the fold.

This follows the release of Jayboi’s debut track, “Yeobayae,” which features Olamide.

This will mark the first time in five years that Baddo will be welcoming another singer into the YBNL Family after signing Fireboy DML and a few other rappers in 2018.

According to a report, The rapper meets met Jayboi last year at a hotel in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The Rock hitmaker discloses how Jayboi came to serve him drinks and didn’t want to leave because he wanted to drop his freestyle.

He revealed that when Jayboi was done, he told himself that he was going to sign him which he did.

He’s the real OG and every album since his 2011 debut “Rapsodi” has been an addition to his now-classic catalog, an improvement on his artistry and a testament that nobody’s got nothing on him.

Even the recent ones that are not critically sound as you’d expect from a don like Olamide (“Lagos Nawa”, “The Glory”) are not light, in the sense of it. When it is time to do hip-hop, Olamide won’t ‘carry’ last. And either he’s gyrating or just bouncing on some sick afrobeat, you just know this is someone that knows what he’s doing.

I don’t think there’s anyone who drops singles like Olamide either. He drops hits, every now and then and he’s not even going to add them to his next album like most artists would. He’s got more than enough. The streets will say “o por, it’s plenty.”

Olamide 999 EP Review

We weren’t expecting “999” or a new Olamide album, not in February anyway. Last year, 2019, the YBNL boss didn’t drop any project, making it the first in seven years that he didn’t drop at least one album. In 2018, he still put out the YBNL Mafia Mixtape and appeared on it, multiple times.

So “999” is like a revival, whatever. And that’s the point, he didn’t have to hype this. The music should hype themselves. People should decide if they still want to listen to Olamide in 2020, or maybe his music is now boring to their ears. Let’s evaluate, then!

The album (or as they call it, EP) starts with “No Time”, a hip-hop track where Olamide just spits some rhymes, definitely no storyline whatsoever, but it’s not a miss. His voice isn’t the same as before, studio work, maybe? It’s definitely not a befitting intro for an Olamide project.

The progression into bassy electronic hip-hop instrumental by Pheelz is magical. Phyno rapped hard, better when he was saying English, but doesn’t really matter. Rhatti and Snow had their shine. It was enough to convince us they’re good guys.

“Billion Talk” featured Olamide’s son, Milli’s voice and started on a high note. The beat is trap hip-hop, and Olamide wasn’t really dropping anything unconventional. Just normal auto-tuned voice and a catchy hook. “Money sweet like candy” after all.

Three other songs had features, “Dance With The Devil” with Sosa-E and Jackmillz, “Demons” with Jackmillz and “Mojo” featuring Jayboi. Olamide is one of the big guys that puts up-and-coming artists on in this industry, so yeah, it’s not too much of a surprise. What is surprising however is how all these guys are rappers. I meant who’s gonna say Olamide is not doing enough for the culture?

“Wonma” which circulated a day before the release is kinda like the highlight of the Extended Play and well, honestly, it is very vulgar and people who speak Yoruba already complained. Although it’s more funny that it is ‘stupid’. Olamide just doing his thing. What’s even crazy is how most people will hear the song, laugh and then say “it’s true sha.”

The last two tracks on the project, “Prophesy” and “Rich & Famous” are also hip-hop. On “Prophecy” he rapped, did a hook, nothing we’ve not heard before. “Rich and Famous” is like it’s Lil Wayne. I’d say nothing we’ve not heard before, but that will be boring, like some of the songs on the album.

You’d think if Olamide was going to do an album after all those street songs, “Choko Milo”, “Oil and Gas”, “Pawon” and “Gobe”, it was going to be streetical. But here we are, listening to Olamide doing hip-hop like it’s ’11. Olamide for President!
