The list of nominations for the 2023 BET Awards has Grammy Award winners Burna Boy and Drake among some of the stars in the entertainment industry, like GloRilla, Lizzo, 21 Savage, and many others.

The 2023 BET Award nominees have been announced by BET, with a diverse group of musicians taking the lead. Drake, who had a total of seven nominations this year, is at the top of the list, which was announced on Thursday (June 8). GloRilla, a young rapper from Memphis who has received six nominations, is only one nomination away from becoming the self-described 6 God.

Following the two rappers are 21 Savage and Lizzo, who are tied with five nods each. Beyoncé, Burna Boy, Ice Spice, Chris Brown, and SZA rank closely behind with four nominations each.

The most nominated African artist for the 2023 BET Awards was none other than Burna Boy, the African Giant. The Nigerian musician received a total of four nominations for awards, trailing only international superstars like Drake, who received seven nominations.

Cardi B, Jack Harlow, Future, FLO, Kendrick Lamar, Maverick City Music and Kirk Franklin, and Tems are also up for three awards.

Tems received three nominations, while Wizkid received one nomination alongside Asake and Ayra Starr.

The BET Awards, which honour black achievement in the entertainment business, will take place on June 26th, 2023 at 1 a.m. West Africa Time.

In a surprise move, American rapper Jack Harlow announced on his social media page that his third studio album, “Jackman,” will be released on Friday, April 28.

Nearly a year has passed since his previous album, “Come Home the Kids Miss You,” which produced the number-one single “First Class” and had guest performances from Drake, Justin Timberlake, and Lil Wayne.

Harlow is preparing to make his acting debut in a remake of White Men Can’t Jump, which will be viewable on Hulu on May 19 in addition to releasing new songs.

He made the big announcement just 48 hours before the record was set to be released. He also revealed the cover image, which depicts Young Harleezy shirtless in a back alley but A tracklist for ‘Jackman’ has not yet been revealed.

The 10th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards have been held, and the event brought together some of the biggest talents in the industry for an evening of radio blockbusters, must-hear songs, and cultural touchstones.

On Monday, March 27, the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards will honour the best musicians in the game at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

American singer-songwriter Taylor Alison Swift is about to fill another blank space on her resume with a career-celebrating prize at the iHeartRadio Music Awards which will be held later this month and will feature performances by Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban, Pat Benatar, Hugo Long, Cody Johnson, Coldplay, and Pink, who is the winner of this year’s Icon Award.

According to organizers, Swift will receive the Innovator Award on March 27 in honor of her widespread influence on popular culture.

“Along with her artistic success, Taylor’s generosity and philanthropy have inspired millions,” iHeartRadio said in its announcement. “She’s an advocate for women’s rights and the LGBTQ+ community, using her music and platform to inspire young people to use their voting power.”

The 33-year-old Swift is a 13-time winner at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and released her tenth album, “Midnights,” in October. With seven nominations, she is tied for the most at this year’s awards, including artist of the year and song of the year for “Anti-Hero.”

For their forthcoming halftime performance at the 2023 All-Star Game, the NBA is going global as the league has chosen Burna Boy, Tems, and Rema to lead the Afrobeats-themed show, which will take place this Sunday night (Feb. 19) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The NBA hired DJ Khaled to perform at the halftime show last year, and he pulled out Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Migos, Lil Baby, and Gunna.

Prior to Sunday’s celebrations, the NBA will host a variety of events, including this Friday’s (Feb. 17) Ruffles Celebrity Game. This year’s event will feature performances by a wide range of musicians, including Janelle Monae, 21 Savage, Cordae, Ozuna, Kane Brown, Nicky Jam, and more.

J. Cole, Jack Harlow, Common, and Quavo are just a few of the musical artists that the NBA has attracted in the past to play at its celebrity game. The frontman for the Migos wowed in both of his outings. He recorded 19 points in 2018 and took home MVP honours.

Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ckay, Fireboy DML, and Tems have been nominated for Afrobeats Artist of the Year at the upcoming 11th edition of iHeartRadio Music Awards 2023.

These nominated Nigerian performers significantly aided in the spread and acceptance of Afrobeats around the world.

Tems, who is perhaps the hottest female singer on the African continent, was nominated for four other awards: “Best New R&B Artist,” “R&B Song of the Year,” “Hip-Hop Song of the Year,” and “Best Collaboration.” With Future and Drake’s “Wait For You” collaboration, the 27-year-overall old’s nominations increased to five.

Mavin Records artist, Rema was also nominated for ‘Best Music Video (Socially Voted Category)’ for his popular visuals with Selena Gomez, ‘Calm Down.’

Burna Boy continues his streak of victories as he takes home another MOBO Award while defeating Kendrick Lamar, Beyonce, and Drake in the same category.

The African Giant continues to conquer new territories and adds another feather to his hat of accomplishments with a win at the MOBO awards.

Burna Boy who had been nominated under the category of Best International Act at the MOBOs together with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Drake and Summer Walker had come out tops as the winner of the award.

Other nominees in this category include Jazmine Sullivan, Skilibeng, Jack Harlow, and Tems, a fast-rising Nigerian worldwide talent.

This award makes Burna Boy’s second award at the 2022 edition of the MOBOs as the singer also secured the nod as the Best African Act, beating Asake, Rema, Fireboy and Omah Lay.

This brings the star’s MOBO award wins to a total of three following his 2021 win as the Best International Act.

The MOBO Awards are an annual British music award presentation honouring achievements in “music of black origin”, including hip hop, grime, UK Drill, R&B and more.

Talented Nigerian singer and songwriter Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, has bagged a total of four nominations at the 2022 American Music Awards.

This is a new record for a Nigerian artist as the singer received nominations in top categories and with collaborations as well.

Tems has been nominated for four American Music Awards, which will be presented on November 21st, 2022.

The singer’s total number of international awards has significantly increased thanks to her nominations for the BET Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards.
