It’s yet another Thursday! Y’all know how we roll right. Today we at Mp3bullet are bringing another sensational act to your mind! This lady took over the music scene after being absent for almost a decade like the stage was prepared for her. Her music video which wasn’t the norm at the time (and is still not the norm) sent shivers down her spine. Enough of the hyping already – It’s no one but Weird MC.

Born on the 1st of January 2016 as Adesola Adesimbo Idowu , Weird MC is also known as Shola Idowu and The Rappatainer. She is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and producer and is known for her English/Yoruba lyrics.

Idowu, 46 was born in the United Kingdom to conservative parents who did not encourage her to go into showbusiness. She had her secondary school education in Nigeria, where she made friends with four other girls with whom she formed the hip-hop group Weirdos. Despite their popularity on the campus circuit, they failed to land a record deal, and soon disbanded. Idowu gained admission into Ogun state university( which is now known as Olabisi Onabanjo University) to study Law, but left after a year to focus on her music career

Sola who claims that she is Influenced by Fela Kuti, Miriam Makeba, Queen Latifah and Jimi Hendrix released her first album titled‘simply weird’ in 1996. The album featured the self-produced video-single “Allen Avenue”, making her the first Nigerian artiste to release a song via that medium.

In 2006, Weird MC released her second album, After Da Storm. The Don Jazzy and JJC-produced single “Ijoya” in the album was a massive success, earning her an AMEN award for Most Pop Song, and a Channel O Music Video Award for Best Special Effect

Apart from being a solo artiste, Idowu has collaborated with other artistes including Femi Kuti and close friend Kween, and in 2010 she was the last woman remaining in the celebrity version of reality show Gulder Ultimate Search.
