Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech has officially been signed by Galatasaray on a temporary loan with the possibility of a permanent deal.

Ziyech was not included in Chelsea’s preseason squad as the Blues looked for a buyer, but their late-stage attempts to sell to a Saudi Arabian team failed.

Ziyech will now be loaned out to Galatasaray by Chelsea due to the lack of interest in his services.

In a statement, the Turkish team acknowledged that they had not paid a fee for the loan and that they had also agreed to negotiate Ziyech’s free move the following summer.

The 30-year-old still has two years left on his Chelsea deal, but it appears that Ziyech has played his last match for the club after being signed for more than £30 million in 2020.

While the majority of Mauricio Pochettino’s team fly to the United States to start their preseason tour, Chelsea has left a number of first-team players back at Cobham.

The west London team leaves for North Carolina on Monday after two weeks of training before taking on Wrexham in their first preseason match on Thursday at the Kenan Memorial Stadium.

However, the Daily Mail reports that Romelu Lukaku will be joined by high-profile absentees Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Hakim Ziyech in missing the trip.

The three players aren’t in Pochettino’s first-team plans and are all the focus of transfer rumours.

The Argentine manager had given Lukaku permission to rejoin the team, but he is presently negotiating with Juventus to return to Serie A, while Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal are also keen.

Aubameyang and Ziyech have now received the same instructions. He was informed he could postpone a return to Cobham until after the rest of the team has travelled to the United States, avoiding any potential discomfort.

Chelsea and Marseille are currently in negotiations about a possible transfer for the former captain of Arsenal, Aubameyang, who is willing to go back to France.

However, the Blues’ hierarchy wants to secure a transfer fee – having paid £ 16.9 million just a year ago – while his enormous salary could also prove to be a stumbling block to any deal.

Ziyech, meantime, was on the verge of transferring to Saudi Arabia when a knee problem discovered during a medical caused the agreement to fall through. Nevertheless, he still has a number of suitors, including Napoli.

Along with the more experienced group of displeased senior players, Chelsea will also be without two young players, Omari Hutchinson and Harvey Vale.

The two teenagers have been training with the rest of the squad but, according to The Athletic, will not be part of the set-up next season so will instead stay behind in London in order to secure loan deals elsewhere and regular first-team football.

Another prominent player is expected to leave Chelsea. The sale of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy by Chelsea to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli has been finalized.

The Senegalese goalkeeper has one year left on his deal, but Chelsea and the player were unable to come to terms on an extension. As a result, the player is reportedly planning to go to Saudi Arabia.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano, who first broke the story, later confirmed that Chelsea and Al Ahli have verbally agreed to sell Mendy.

Ziyech has reached an agreement on a three-year contract to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, and he will soon get a medical before signing the contract.

Regarding Koulibaly, negotiations for a transfer to Al-Hilal are continuing. The former Napoli centre-back has declined a permanent deal to Saudi Arabia in favour of returning on loan to Serie A.

A three-year contract through 2026 is also on the table for the 31-year-old, and a deal regarding personal terms is almost ready to be finalized.

After hearing boos during each of their introductions, Frank Lampard commended Raheem Sterling and Hakim Ziyech for their contributions to the victory over Bournemouth.

On Saturday, Chelsea won for the first time under interim manager Lampard, securing their spot in the Premier League for the 2023–24 season with a 3–1 victory at the Vitality Stadium.

It was the Blues’ first victory in nine matches across all competitions, and it was primarily a result of the efforts of two controversial replacements, Ziyech and Sterling.

According to reports, PSG are ‘absolutely furious’ with Chelsea over the collapse of Hakim Ziyech’s loan move.

The 29-year-old was in Paris on Tuesday night prepared to finalize the agreement and had appeared set to join the Ligue 1 winners until the end of the season.

Ziyech was close to leaving Stamford Bridge, but a string of errors with the paperwork required to finalize the deal — errors for which PSG has blamed Chelsea — prevented him from doing so.

In an effort to expedite the transaction, PSG filed an appeal with the Legal Committee of the Professional Football League (LFP). They claimed that Chelsea’s failure to sign the documents twice was a factor in the third submission arriving beyond the 11 p.m. deadline.

It’s interesting to note that Allan Saint-Maximin has not been that pleased with Newcastle’s interest in a new forward.
