Bournemouth forward Justin Kluivert has officially entered the record books after being presented with a Guinness World Record certificate for scoring a hat-trick of penalties in a Premier League fixture.

The Dutchman made history on November 30, 2024, when he converted three spot-kicks in Bournemouth’s 4-2 victory over Wolves at Molineux, becoming the first player in Premier League history to achieve the feat. His rare accomplishment broke a record that had stood in English top-flight football since 1957.

Kluivert’s certificate confirms his unique achievement:
“The most penalties scored by a football (soccer) player in an English Premier League match is 3, and was achieved by Justin Kluivert (Netherlands) in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK, on 30 Nov 2024.”

The presentation took place at the Vitality Stadium ahead of Bournemouth’s 2-1 win over Brighton last weekend. While Kluivert came off the bench in that game — having recently slipped down the pecking order — he still proudly celebrated the milestone, describing it as a special moment in his career.

“That sounds beautiful,” Kluivert said. “To go in the history books – that’s amazing. I’m super happy with it.”

The record-breaking match also saw his teammate Evanilson set his own piece of history, becoming the first player in Premier League history to win three penalties in a single game.

Although Ken Barnes of Manchester City had scored three penalties against Everton in 1957, Kluivert remains the only player to achieve the feat in the Premier League era.

The 25-year-old forward has also carved out another unique distinction in European football, having scored in all six of Europe’s major leagues: England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, and the Netherlands.

His certificate, which labels him as a “record holder” and “officially amazing,” now cements his place among football’s most unusual yet prestigious achievements.

Teddy A, a reality star and musician, has criticised her colleagues for pursuing clout with Hilda Back’s achievement as celebrities continue to descend on Hilda Back’s marathon cooking location to show their support and amuse guests.

Teddy A expressed the observation that many people who drove to the cooking location wouldn’t do the same for their coworkers while praising Hilda for breaking the previous Guinness World Record and creating a new one with her marathon cooking that lasted four days.

In a post on his Instagram page on Monday, Teddy A questioned how many of the famous people had taken time out of their busy schedules to support some of their friends and associates who run eateries like these elsewhere.

“Have you left the comfort of your house to ever go support a friend’s canteen or buka or even regular business?”

“He also stated that “But you would drive miles to go and take pictures under the guise of supporting one another. The fakeness for this una blood, go die wit una”

Wzikid

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, stage named Wizkid is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.

Wizkid started recording music at the age of 11 and even went ahead to release a collaborative album with his church group ads of then,  the “Glorious Five”. This shows that he was a born singer, with an unmatchable talent which needed to be exploited.

In 2009, the Wizkid signed a record deal with fellow singer; Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E).

He, however, rose to prominence and became a household name with the release of  “Holla at Your Boy”, the lead single from his first studio album; Superstar.

On the expiry of his contract with E.ME, Wizkid left the label to grow his music wings and create his own label; “Starboy Entertainment”.

Currently, Starboy Entertainment is one of the biggest record labels in Africa.

Wizkid became one of the first few Nigerians to gain massive international recognition after his collaboration with US rapper; Drake on his song, “One Dance“, alongside British singer; Kyla.

Consequently, “One Dance” became a global hit and reached number one in 15 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

In 2017, He signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records and released third studio album Sounds from the Other Side.

This album was supported by five singles: “Daddy Yo”, “Sweet Love”, “Come Closer” ft Drake, “African Bad Girl” ft Chris Brown, and “Naughty ride”,

Collaborations, Awards, and Endorsements

Aside from his tremendous solo work, Wizkid has also collaborated with several other artists to produce various massive music projects.

The singer was featured on Beyonce‘s epic album; “The Lion King: The gift”, particularly on the smash hit; “Brown Skin Girl” alongside Saint Jhn and Blue Ivy Carter.

 Moreover, he also became the first Afrobeats artist to appear in the 2018 Guinness World Records and Billboard Top 10 HipHop/R&B songs of the decade for his contribution to Drake’s “One Dance”. 

Wizkid is undeniably one of the Nigerians with the most awards to their name. The singer has about 31 awards which unfortunately can’t be listed here.

Through his career, he has also bagged several endorsements from huge brands like; Pepsi, Guinness, MTN, and GLO.
