Former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has turned down the chance to make a swift return to management.

After just seven games of the new season, Blues co-owner Todd Boehly fired Tuchel last month.

The decision surprised everyone because the German had received a lot of support during the summer transfer market.

Former Brighton boss, Graham Potter, was appointed as his successor barely 48 hours after the former Borussia Dortmund chief was dismissed.

It has now been revealed by Sport 1, via Sport Witness, that Tuchel has already been approached about a return to the dugout.

In light of the mounting pressure on Bayer Leverkusen manager Gerardo Seoane, the report states that the Bundesliga team “made contact” with Tuchel to determine his interest in the position before a potential change.

However, Tuchel clarified that he was “not interested” in the Leverkusen job.

It is currently unclear whether Tuchel’s decision was driven by a desire to take a break or by Leverkusen’s perilous league position, with the German outfit currently second from bottom in the Bundesliga.
