Months after Obama DMW’s funeral, the musician has taken to Instagram to post an emotional message in honour of his memory.

Posting DMW’s picture whom he often referred to as 44, the DMW Label boss wrote, “44love and miss you.”

Davido’s words emphasize how much he missed his late friend.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that Obama DMW is the third close associate of Davido, who had died in the last year.

In December 2020, Davido’s bodyguard Tijani Olamilekan aka TeeJay died after a battle with an illness, and in September of 2021, the famous singer lost his photographer, Fortune who drowned during a shoot.

Recall that in October 2017, the famous singer lost three friends to death in one week.

In a video posted on Davido’s fan page, the music star and Angel could be seen dancing to his “High“, a collaboration he had with Adekunle Gold.

Ever since he and Adekunle Gold released “High” in September, the song has been taking over the streets especially Davido’s verse.

Angel Agnes Smith is a former housemate from the recently concluded 2021 BBNaija show tagged “Shine Ya Eyes“.

The 21-year-old writer and TV star became a sensation on the show after series of dramas between her and some of the housemates.

This won’t be the first time Davido has linked up with a housemate from the BBNaija house, last year, he used the 2020 Lockdown edition housemate, Nengi as a video vixen on the music video of his hit song, “Jowo.”

It is a good thing to see the singer enjoying himself given the fact that he recently lost his Official Photographer, Fortune who drowned while on a shoot.

Fortune was laid to rest on the 7th of this month in Yaba. The Photographer was 24 at the time of his death

Fortune, Davido’s photographer, was laid to rest in Yaba, Lagos, amid passionate tears.

Fortune Shotz, also known as Fortunate Peter Ananyo Umunname, was laid to rest at Atan Cemetery in Yaba Lagos.

His funeral was held at a church, and he was laid to rest at Atan Cemetery in Abule Oja, Yaba-Akoka, Lagos State.

Fortune was 24 at the time of his death.

The photographer was said to have drowned on Tuesday evening, September 21, 2021, in a location in Lagos.

Fortune’s death came barely three months after the loss of Davido’s close friend and business collaborator, Habeeb Ademola Uthman, often known as Obama DMW, who died of a heart problem.

Fortune’s death was widely reported on social media after a Tweet purporting to be from a friend of the deceased went viral, reporting his death.

Davido posted to Instagram on Saturday to pay tribute to Fortune, his official photographer who drowned while working at a secret location in Lagos.

The Superstar confessed in his emotional message that he is having trouble accepting the fact that he is no longer alive.

According to the singer, Fortune changed from being a stranger to becoming his closest buddy in a couple of weeks.

Davido laments not being able to keep all of his promises to Fortune before passing away. His heart is sad, he claims, but he is pleased to have met him.

In his words;

“Fortune @fortunateumunname ….. I can’t believe you’re gone. Since we met u never left my side. for one day… Your page says it all.

You really were all about me like nothing else mattered. You went from a complete stranger to one of my closest confidants within weeks.

There is nowhere I entered that you and your lens didn’t enter. I can’t even believe I’m writing a tribute to you right now wtf we still had so much more to do. Your workshops. Your studios. Trips. Shows. Scenes. Moments. All of it. I can’t believe you didn’t give me the chance to fulfill the rest of my promises to you. my heart is so heavy right now and I’m just so grateful I met you.

You truly were the best kid. A rare breed and I’m so grateful that we got to travel the world and create so many iconic moments with you. You are irreplaceable and you are gone now but I will make sure you are never forgotten! I swear it! This next one’s for you! RIP lil bro. Love you forever ❤️ #FortuneShotItAll”

According to a report, the popular photographer with viral photos of Davido and other celebrities in the Nigerian music industry allegedly drowned on Tuesday evening, September 21, 2021, during a shoot, at a location in Lagos.

This comes a few months after Mp3bullet.ng reports that Davido’s aide, Obama died of breathing problems.

It’s sure a rough time for the DMW Boss, Davido as he has lost many people closer to him lately.

The internet has generated mixed feelings after this sad news surfaced on social media.
