<p>On February 10, 2021, it was announced that <strong>Fela Kuti</strong> would compete alongside 15 other music legends including <strong>Tina Turner, Jay Z, Foo Fighters, Carole King</strong> and the rest.</p>
<p>Thanks to a massive turnout by Africans, by the end of the voting session Fela came second place after <strong>Tina Turner</strong> with <strong>The Go-Gos, Iron Maiden</strong> and <strong>Foo Fighter</strong> placing 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.</p>
<p>However, Fela alongside <strong>The Iron Maiden</strong> was the only set of people in the top five not to be inducted.</p>
<p>Instead, <strong>Jay Z, Todd Rundgren</strong> and <strong>Carole King</strong> were chosen in their place. These however have sparked outrage among Nigerians who slammed the organizers for snubbing the music legend.</p>
<figure id="attachment_707468" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-707468" style="width: 460px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://mp3bullet.ng/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Fela-snubbed-on-Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame-induction-despite-massive-fan-votes.jpeg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-707468" src="https://mp3bullet.ng/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Fela-snubbed-on-Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame-induction-despite-massive-fan-votes.jpeg" alt="Fela snubbed on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction- despite massive fan votes" width="460" height="276" srcset="https://mp3bullet.ng/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Fela-snubbed-on-Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame-induction-despite-massive-fan-votes.jpeg 460w, https://mp3bullet.ng/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Fela-snubbed-on-Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame-induction-despite-massive-fan-votes-300x180.jpeg 300w, https://mp3bullet.ng/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Fela-snubbed-on-Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame-induction-despite-massive-fan-votes-150x90.jpeg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-707468" class="wp-caption-text">Fela snubbed on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction- despite massive fan votes</figcaption></figure>
<p>Joining the Fray, <strong>Femi Kuti</strong>, the late singer’s son, faulted the lack of adequate enlightenment on the part of the organisers on how inductees are selected.</p>
