To commemorate the release of the landmark project, TYLA will headline The Today Show’s Citi Summerstage® on Friday, July 24th, in New York City, and will fly to Chicago to headline the 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game halftime show on Saturday, June 25th.

She will be the first international artist to headline the WNBA halftime show in its 28-year history. The appearances cap off a global rollout that has brought A*POP directly to fans around the world. In the lead-up to the release, TYLA hosted a series of intimate fan listening experiences with YouTube in London, Atlanta, and New York, giving fans an exclusive first listen to the album alongside TYLA herself. ‘

She also teamed up with Vevo for the Official Live Performance of “IS IT LOVE” released this week, with more performances from the series set to roll out soon. Watch her performance HERE. Beyond music, TYLA also unveiled her very own Bratz doll this week, marking another major cultural moment for the global superstar.

TYLA formally announced the album tracklist last week on Instagram, where she etched each song of her 14-song tracklist in neon paint during an immersive reveal. It was the latest feather in the cap of what’s been a calculated and explosive rollout that began with the subtle announcement of the album’s title in the video for “CHANEL,” which has now been viewed over 140 million times.

Though the ripple effect of her groundbreaking debut album campaign was still creating waves throughout the industry, TYLA took home her second GRAMMY Award for “PUSH 2 START” earlier this year. TYLA began formally teasing A*POP on this year’s GRAMMY red carpet, where she revealed to Rolling Stone that her efforts had started to galvanise.

“I just knew that as I lived through the making of the album, it was going to fall into place, which it did,” she told the outlet after accepting her second award for “Best African Music Performance.”

With the momentum of 2025’s release of “Chanel” still white-hot, TYLA tapped Zara Larsson for “She Did It Again.” The single release became a global event, debuting on over seven global charts, earning TYLA her fourth Hot 100 chart hit, and becoming a culturally captivating social moment, with hundreds of thousands of TikTok creators dedicated to emulating the vivacious energy TYLA and Zara conjured. Vanity Fair said the duo created “herstory” with the record.

As her next act, TYLA liberated the album’s next single, “Is It Love,” a painstaking romantic ballad that shot to the top of the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats chart, earning TYLA her fourth Afrobeats chart-topper, more than any artist since 2024.

As curiosity for A*POP grew, so did TYLA’s aura. Her third year at the MET Gala was met with widespread enthusiasm.

Following her scene-stealing appearances at the 2024 and 2025 ceremonies, where she donned a nude Balmain dress that prompted VOGUE to call her a “fashion force” and a Barbie-inspired vintage Jacquemus gown that stole global headlines, respectively, TYLA reprised her role as star of the carpet with a peacock-inspired Valentino dress referred to as “bold” by Cosmopolitan, a common theme in TYLA’s career. She would also perform at several high-profile international engagements, including Portugal’s Afro Nation Festival and Romania’s Beach Please!.

TYLA’s debut album campaign, which produced the standard and deluxe edition albums TYLA and TYLA+, launched two years of dominance. Her ability to elevate as an artist and celebrity while maintaining an intimate relationship with her avid fanbase of “Tygers” is a dynamic unique to superstars of TYLA’s ilk. Nigerian singer-songwriter Idimilan delivers honesty, emotion, and relatable storytelling on his new EP Thee.

Released on April 30, 2026, the 7-track project may last just 19 minutes, but it carries heavy emotions and important messages that many young people can connect with.

The EP includes the songs Pepe Bordi, Real Girls, Unique Me, No Stress Me, Dem Go Shock, Ayah, and Message to the Stars. Together, these tracks explore pressure, overthinking, fake friendships, loneliness, ambition, and the struggle to stay true to yourself while trying to survive in today’s world.

For a younger listener, especially teenagers trying to understand life and emotions, Thee feels like listening to someone openly talk about the thoughts many people hide inside.

Emotion and Storytelling

Musically, Thee blends modern Afrobeats with emotional storytelling. The beats are smooth, calm, and reflective instead of overly loud or aggressive. The bass guitar plays a strong role throughout the project, giving the songs warmth and depth.

Even though the production feels polished, the story behind the recording process makes the EP more interesting. Idimilan recorded much of the project in his bedroom before sending it to producers for final work. Another line says:

This shows self-awareness. He understands that thinking deeply can sometimes become emotionally exhausting. Many young people today deal with anxiety and pressure silently, so this song feels very relatable.

Instead of pretending everything is perfect, idimilan chooses honesty. That honesty is one of the biggest strengths of the EP.

On Real Girls, idimilan shifts the focus to fake people, social pressure, and loyalty. He sings:

“Shout out to all the real girls, shout out to all the fake”

Before adding:

“Dem go call you petty if you no dey their pity”

The message here is easy to understand. Sometimes people try to manipulate others emotionally or make them feel bad for protecting themselves. The song encourages listeners to stay real and avoid fake energy.

For teenagers especially, this message matters because school, friendships, and social media can sometimes make people feel pressured to fit in or please others. idimilan reminds listeners that protecting your peace is important.

For People Fighting Silent Battles

One of the biggest reasons Thee stands out is because it feels genuine. idimilan is not trying to sound perfect or overly flashy. He sounds like someone speaking honestly about life.

For his new EP Thee, idimilan draws inspiration from the emotional storytelling and Afro-fusion style of Burna Boy alongside the timeless creativity, performance energy, and musical influence of Michael Jackson.

The project speaks directly to people who:

Feel stressed or misunderstood
Struggle with fake friendships

Want to succeed despite difficulties

This EP can feel comforting for people because it reminds them they are not alone in their struggles.

Another important track on the EP is Ayah, where Idimilan speaks about corruption, leadership problems, and the difficulties many Nigerians face daily. The song highlights how hardworking people sometimes suffer because of poor governance and broken systems.

Still, the song does not completely lose hope. Instead, it encourages change and accountability while believing things can improve in the future.

This gives the EP balance. It talks about pain and struggle, but it also carries hope and resilience.
