    Sound Sultan, a renowned Nigerian artist, sadly passed away on July 11, 2021, after a courageous battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, an uncommon form of cancer.

    Now, two years later, his family, friends, and devoted fans have taken to social media platforms to commemorate his memory on the anniversary of his passing.

    Farida Fasasi, his beloved wife, shared a video on Instagram that captures Sound Sultan in his natural state, exuding joy with his infectious smile, singing, and dancing as he passionately did. Accompanying the video is a heartfelt caption, undoubtedly expressing her deep love and fond memories of him.

    Fasisi, in her caption, began saying, “Today, I choose to celebrate you. Today, I choose to honour yourlegacy. I choose to remember you in a good way. Omo iseyin, the one that loves his culture so much. My tall dark-skinned Iseyin man.”

    Continuing her heartfelt post, Farida Fasasi also opened up about their children, Zara, Mayowa, and Bidemi Fasasi, and how they continue to keep the memory of their father alive.

    She shared that their children often talk about Sound Sultan as if he is still present with them, indicating the profound impact he had on their lives. Despite his physical absence, his memory lives on through their conversations and cherished moments together as a family.

    She said, ‘”Aboo’ is the fond name you called me. Our three beautiful babies miss you so much, they still remember everything about you, and it’s funny how they talk about you like you’re still here. Your siblings have been very supportive, and they try their best to not let us feel your absence in our lives; they also miss you every day.”

    Her detailed caption highlighted the singer’s impact on people and the industry.

    In her words, “Your legacy is still speaking for you, and I’m super proud and happy to have been part of your life. The kids and I miss you every day, Lanre. May Allah continue to bless you and give you ajanafidausi and may you continue to rest in power. Amin.”

    Farida Fasasi, the wife of the late legendary iconic singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi, better known as Sound Sultan, is still grieving the loss of her husband as she celebrates their 12th wedding anniversary today, October 1st, 2021.

    In an Instagram post, she made on Friday, she said even in death, the rapper will always be “irreplaceable”.

    She Wrote:

    aboo 1st of October,  our family and friends gathered to share our joy and celebrate with us as we sealed our beautiful love in marriage.
    The song “love language” is a testament of our decision to weather the storm together above our tribe, tongues, and religion.
    Death has separated us but in my heart you are irreplaceable. I love you always and forever. happy 12 years anniversary baby

    Farida stated in her tribute that it is difficult for her to accept that she will no longer be able to live with Sound Sultan. According to her, she is simply existing without him, but she has chosen to submit to Allah’s will and accept his death.

    Farida also expressed her joy that her husband is no longer in pain or suffering. Sound Sultan, she said, lived an exemplary life and will always be her hero.

    “40 days since you left and it’s still so hard to accept that I’ll be living without you… more like I’m just existing without you.

    She also revealed she has been struggling to come to terms with his death despite being told it is God’s will.

    On the 11th of July 2021 my world went pitch black, its been a month and still I can see no color. ⁣

    It still feels like a bad dream… how is this my fate?. Living without you has to be the worst punishment life has thrown my way. ⁣
    ⁣
    My dear Aboo, my nights have been so long and cold since you left me. My sweet gentle husband, the love of my entire life, my world. Thank you for giving me the best of yourself for the past years. Our love was truly perfect and I am totally lost without you. ⁣
    ⁣
    I have been told that this is the will of God but I’m still struggling with it. Lanre, I’m struggling daily!!… Time heals right??… Hmmm! ⁣

    I wish to use this medium to thank everyone for the immense support and all the kind words towards our family. I do not take this for granted. Lanre was truly the best guy and I count it a privilege to have shared my life with him. ⁣

    Sound Sultan and Farida (Formerly known as Chichi Morah) were married for twelve years and had three children (two boys and a girl)

    The singer passed away at the age of 44 on the 11th of July after a prolonged battle with throat cancer in the united states.
