Ghanaian rapper Edem has voiced his dissent over a statement released by Shatta Wale’s management, which attempted to explain the artist’s decision to cancel his upcoming performance in Wolverhampton.

The statement, dated October 31, 2023, has generated discussions on social media. It cited the cancellation of the concert due to the promoters’ inability to meet the extensive demands and prerequisites set forth by Shatta Wale’s management.

Edem’s disapproval of this statement suggests that he may view the explanation provided as unsatisfactory or inappropriate. The cancellation and the subsequent statement have evidently sparked debates and differing opinions within the entertainment industry and among fans and artists alike.

“We regret to inform the public that despite best efforts, the promoters have not been able to meet the luxurious demands and requirements specified by Shatta Wale’s management. These demands, while fitting for an artist of his stature, have proven to be logistically and financially challenging for the organization, making it impossible for us to proceed with the event as planned,” a portion of the statement read.

Edem, in response to the statement, took to social media and addressed Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale’s manager.

He emphasized that the content of the statement was inappropriate, stating, “Yo @sammyflextv, whoever wrote your press release, should not do so again. It’s not fitting for Shatta.”

In a subsequent interview with Bryt TV, Edem further elaborated on his disapproval of the statement issued by Shatta Wale’s management.

He emphasized that the statement included unnecessary paragraphs and that the same reason for the cancellation could have been conveyed more succinctly and effectively without the lengthy explanation provided. Edem’s critique suggests that he found the statement to be overly verbose or convoluted when a more straightforward and concise communication could have sufficed.

Ghanaian musician and performer Denning Edem Hotor, better known by his stage as Edem, has expressed his anger with the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO).

According to the singer of the well-known song “You Dey Craze,” the Ghana Musicians Royalty Organization (GHAMRO) is the most ineffective government organization in Ghana.

This comes after GHAMRO paid out royalties to its registered members at the end of the year, with some artists receiving as little as GH153.27.

Edem took to social media to air his grievances, stating, “No entity for Artiste in Ghana be worthless pass “GHAMRO” on my Mama..on GOD.”

Meanwhile, GHAMRO Board Chairman Rex Omar recently responded to his detractors, who have long accused him of slashing artists’ pay at the organization.

Ghanaian rapper, Ayigbe Edem was captured in a video having a brief conversation with Nigerian international superstar, Davido.

The reaction of social media users to a video showing Edem being humble in front of OBO is generating a stir.

Davido is currently in Ghana to undertake some business-related activities and Ayigbe Edem who featured Davido in one of his songs decided to link up with him and the motive for his move is unknown as we speak.

However, social media users have interpreted the video variedly as the video that captures them together has his hit song ‘Efie Fuo’ playing in the background.

Recall that the Ghanaian artist is one of the celebrities OBO called on to send him money ahead of his birthday which generated over 200 million Naira in his account.

In reaction to the video, several netizens said Edem is still trying to generate money and asked the witches in his family to leave him online, as depicted in his song.
